I had an extremely negative and seriously concerning experience at this salon. The facility had an unpleasant odor, appeared dirty, and did not seem well maintained. I was also concerned about possible pests. During a visit, I heard a staff member scream that there was a spider on the towels, which was disturbing and made the environment feel even more concerning and unsanitary. During a visit, many witnessed the assistant manager, Latoya, arguing and yelling, which created an uncomfortable, toxic, and highly unprofessional atmosphere. I also felt pressured to purchase additional services that I did not want or need. My biggest concern was the assistant manager, Latoya. She was yelling, condescending, rude, obnoxious, and aggressive throughout the salon. Her behavior was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I witnessed her speaking disrespectfully to both staff members and even the customers, often in a belittling and confrontational manner. She appeared to create unnecessary conflict and contribute to a hostile environment rather than resolve issues professionally. In my opinion, she behaved like a bully who lacked basic business etiquette, communication skills, and leadership ability. The rumors are that this Latoya has animosity and makes tension and drama at the salon is a well known thing creating a very toxic environment. Instead of addressing concerns calmly and respectfully, she was intimidating and dismissive. Her conduct reflected very poorly on the business and made what was already a disappointing experience significantly worse. I do not understand how a salon could allow someone with such a rude, angry, and out-of-control attitude to represent its brand. She either needs serious retraining or should be replaced. It is absolutely unacceptable for any business to be represented by such low-value behavior. I was also very concerned about the pricing practices. The prices seemed highly questionable compared to the corporate menu and listed service prices. They advertise package deals that often appear to include services such as shampoo, treatment, blow-dry, styling, and sometimes haircuts. However, customers should be careful not to be shortchanged on included services, because based on many experiences, they may still charge the full package price even when certain services are skipped. For example, some haircut packages appear to include shampoo and blow-dry. Do not let them skip those services and still charge you the same price. I am also concerned that the salon may be using bait-and-switch pricing tactics. A service may be advertised at one price, but the final charge can end up much higher due to extra charges, including charges for services that were supposed to be included in the package. Charging extra for hair type or additional products may be understandable when clearly explained upfront, but adding unexpected fees or charging for services not performed is unacceptable. Please ask for a written estimate before they touch your hair. Ask for an itemized breakdown before paying or tipping, and always request a receipt so you can review every charge. Be especially careful about extra services added to the bill that were not clearly explained or were not actually performed. Overall, this experience was from hell. Between the unpleasant and unsanitary environment, the assistant manager's aggressive and disrespectful behavior, the toxic atmosphere, and the questionable pricing practices, I was appalled by the level of service. I do not recommend this salon under its current management at all. Anyone looking for a professional, respectful, clean, and honest salon experience should seriously consider going elsewhere. Apparently my father was just such an inconvenience to this lady I believe her name is Sharice, she never introduced herself. No smile and no friendly greeting just ushered back to this disgusting Workstation . I had to ask multiple times to even his hair out as if she had no experience . I could have done a better job with kitchen shears . Charge $32 was supposed to include shampoo and conditioner which she never offered but continued to charge for . Cutting Corners lazy unexperienced and very unsanitary conditions . Will NEVER EVER GO BACK!!! read more

Honestly, I had a great experience. I had just gotten my eyebrows done a few days before i came in, so I couldn't get my eyebrows wet and needed to wash my hair, so i walked in here. Waited a few mins and got taken back. The stylist washed my hair, and it was only$8. I thought it was a great price. Definitely will come back for other services. read more

I've been going to the Hair Cuttery for about 2 years and everything is great!! The only issue I have is that if you go in with washed, wet hair, ( I need to use a special shampoo so I don't want the wash) it cost the same price as if I get the full service, that's the only reason I only gave it 4 stars. read more

Expensive. No personality,, warmth, or professional concern. Was ringing me up when I asked why so much without even a shampoo. She says, oh, that's included. I say really... then why didn't I get one? Oh, you want a shampoo? Sure. Come on. I met Jules on another local website. She mentioned that she does hair. So, I set an appointment with her. I arrived at the appointment about twenty minutes early. She was waiting and ready for me and took me right away to get my hair washed and cut, trim and late my hair. I left very happy. Jules is new to Jacksonville, so please hit her up! They've done a good job for me for many years there a few times that things didn't work out as well as I would've liked but 95% of the time it's been very very good people. I came in for a haircut and I was taken right away. The stylist's name was Vicki. She was so friendly and understanding! My hair was damaged and she cut my hair with the quickness and blended it in so well with my new growth. My self-esteem is crappy when I have really short hair. But listen! I LOVE MY HAIR! All I wanted was my roots touched up and anytime I come to a salon they know exactly what I need when they see my hair I have super bright blonde hair and usually stylist does highlights with bleach and foil when I need my roots touched up. They had absolutely no idea what to do with my hair and where all trying to figure out a price which made me very uncomfortable and uneasy to get my hair done and the woman who was to do my hair was very rude rolling her eyes when I came up I could tell she didn't want to do my hair I have never felt more uncomfortable in a salon. I made an appointment with the manager, showed up, and was told the manager just left and there was no record of my appointment. Employee called manager and was given no explanation. My family (6 total) have been using this location for over 10 years. Mala is awesome. However the management has really let this place become wal-mart getto. No customer service. No receptionist. Electronic check in with no one to help the older folks to walk through it. The electronic check in does not give waiting times. Allow you to schedule advance appointments or just talk to someone to say " hey, how long is the wait? 25 minutes? Ok can I sign in and run down to the Publix and come back in a few. " once you leave, you loose your place in line". So one of most personal customer service industries is now removing personal customer service from their salons. I will still come here because of Mala. If Mala leaves, I will find another salon. Update: The manager reached out to me on the issues discussed above. I got overcharged $7 on an appointment back in February by Carol. She gave me a card that said take $7 off for a future haircut. When I tried to use it Courtney said that I should have had Carol take it off back then. I did ask Carol to take it off then, but she didn't know how, so she gave me the $7 off card with her initials on it. Courtney then said it needed to be used it within 30 days. Nobody told me that. And Carol, who was also there today admitted that she didn't know about any 30 day policy. Courtney said that it is just common sense to know that you have to come back within 30 days, and she told Carol to be quiet, since Carol was agreeing with me. Then, Courtney blamed everything on me and went to the back of the salon. Carol was helpful and got it straightened out. But Courtney has an attitude that needs an adjustment. She should not talk to customers in the nasty way she did to me. I'm not saying that the customer is always right, but in this case, she was definitely wrong. I am a long term customer. My wife and I have been going to Hair Cuttery in Jacksonville for over 15 years, and my son for the past 6 years. We will not be returning to Hair Cuttery, because of Courtney. read more

No one spoke to me, checked the waiting list. when i finally asked, i found out that all but two stylists were now off and the two that were still there had clients and one of them will be with you (& no we're not going to help you out because we just don't care all that much).
