I had my hair cut here today and ended up going to another hair cuttery location to have it redone. I have never had a stylist spray me with water while getting my hair washed, leave shampoo in my hair (which I had to point out!), comb my hair aggressively, and hurt my scalp with the hair dryer. She quite literally did not do what I asked at all, did not check in, and at that point I just wanted to leave. I paid extra for a blow out and of course charged for my length, but y'all tell me if this looks like a blow out at all. I left a tip because that's how I was raised but I feel like I paid $60 for nothing. read more

My Wife went to the store on San Jose an they gave her a bad haircut . So she went to this store the manager saw the bad e haircut a was able to repair the damage a did not charge her. i have been coming to hair cuttery for a good while now and i have my appointments be with claudia , i love it a lot ! i get the normal trim w shampooing for $33 every 8 weeks . claudia is very kind and i always leave feeling refreshed and happy with my new haircut :) she gives great advice on how to keep my hair healthy and makes a comfortable amount of conversation (sometimes i feel awkward if there is too much small talk but i have no worries of that here!) i also like how it is very calm and casual in the building because it makes the haircut & shampooing extra relaxing . i definitely dont plan on changing to another hair place any time soon ^.^ read more

I consider myself lucky in that I usually don't stress to much about haircuts. Yes, obviously I want it to be even and look good, but it's hair- it grows out, so I just don't worry too much about it. My concerns are (don't laugh)- don't pull my hair, I don't like that & if the person cutting my hair is nice. I've had someone angry cut my hair- it is not a fun experience! Now- onto this visit- I like Hair Cuttery, I discovered them when I lived over in the Southside/Baymeadows area and just loved the staff at the location I frequented. So, now that I have moved and my hair was shaggy and crazy- I found one close to home. I was a walk in and they had me in a chair in under 15 minutes even though they quoted much longer. Under-promise and over-deliver, good concept. My lady had been cutting hair for almost 25 years! woohoooo- wow! She was great! I even had her take a little more off the top and she did it super fast, no worries. This group of women worked well together- there was one who was filling in from another location and you could tell. Check out was fun- laughable really, the other location girl was on the computer and had changed a bunch of things. My receipt was printed on the large printer below the desk instead of the receipt printer- it made my stylist just a touch flustered. But- it wasn't her fault and I was in no rush! I'll be back! There is something very therapeutic about getting your hair cut- and she made it an even better experience! read more

Well today I took my nine year old to get a haircut for school, the guy cutting his hair did not know what he was doing, repeatedly telling my son to stop moving, just to cover his incompetence. I approached him and said what's the problem, he said he was moving too much, which he was clearly lying, I said if you can't do it, I'm pulling him off the chair. Pay $20 for a haircut at least they should know how to fade. Today u get a -star!! read more

Mid November I went to Hair Cuttery and spoke to Alice Rinier. I don't understand how she got a license for cosmetology or has claimed to have worked in a private salon. We discussed previous treatments to my hair and she did 3 test strands and made me feel like she really understood what I was asking for. I wanted a balayage from brunette to dirty blonde. We spoke in depth so I thought it was all going to go smoothly. My hair lifted very well so she told me we can schedule an appointment the next day when she had off because my schedule wasn't very flexible. We started at 4:30 and stopped after closing around 10:30. She charged me extra for toner and she ended up giving me sand to caramel streaks in my hair. It was all botchy, not even blended or symmetrical. In total I paid $217 with tip. I got a "package full foil highlights". In my defense I'm not the professional here! I showed her examples and pictures, my hair lifted very well. She did a terrible job with the placement and areas of which my hair was suppose to be colored. I ended up having streaks like a crappy 2000s hairstyle. I had to fix it, whether I did it or they tried again. I called the store the next day and told them she did not give me what I asked for at all! The manager said she would get me in during the weekend for free because the agreed it was not what I asked for. They tried to convince me my hair wouldn't lift and that I shouldn't get treated or I'd have to cut my hair very short. I wasn't going to walk around like that any longer so I let them cut it to my shoulders. During the process the manager was shocked my hair was lifting exactly like I said it would! They didn't have to cut it. She bleached the ends of my hair and there wasn't much coverage there either and it was close to platinum! I had to further damage my hair and correct it!!! I bleached higher parts of my head and then used permanent dye from Sally's and it's exactly what I wanted. I did a better job than the professionals. Not worth the money!!!! Never going here again. Waste of time. If you do want to go here, I'd recommend if bleaching, do it yourself! Only go there if it's an emergency fix. The manager was nice though, she's a good person. read more

I went here on a whim. I booked with Kayla because she had availability. I brought in a a few pictures on my phone of possibilities for the cut. We discussed it and both agreed on one of the cuts that would be the best. I was getting lots of layers and bangs for the first time in ages. She knew exactly what she was doing and though I panicked while she was cutting the bangs, she was very skilled. I left with my new cut, not even a blow dry, because I like to keep it inexpensive. Even while it was pretty damp I could see she did an excellent job. I just love this cut. It was so needed and has given my hair new life. I showed the lady a picture of the hair style I had prior and asked her if she could cut my hair the same way and she said she was capable of doing that. Once she finished cutting she had chopped at least 6 inches from my hair!! They tried to tell me this hair cut would be free because I didn't like it but that doesn't help with my hair butchered!! This location gets two stars for being so neat and clean. Parking is convenient and plentiful and the location is excellent and very convenient for me. That star is well deserved but the rest of my visit was not star worthy. There was only one person working, no one waiting and she gave me a wait time of 30 minutes. It was not the wait, it was the fact that she had to look at her screen like it was a rubrics cube, then walk In the back to speak to someone, then come out and overtly discourage me from waiting. If the person in the back had been working, even as just a hostess, the wait time might have been cut in half. Now if the person in back actually cut hair, there would have been no wait at all. I really hate to give bad reviews, in fact I would rather just not review a location that is making an effort and just falls short. This location made no effort, no kindness, no professionalism, so might be best to avoid. I headed down to Great Clips (my wife's favorite, but me, I prefer Hair Cuttery) where five stylists were working, waited 15 minutes and felt like they wanted me as a customer. read more

I have been going here for a while to see my stylist, Sarah. It's a clean salon. All the stylists are pleasant. I wanted all my hair cut off into a pixie the first time I went in and Sarah gave me the cutest cut! I go there now for cuts and color. She's great with doing highlighting and all over color. She goes above and beyond when it comes to service! The price is delightfully reasonable too, compared to what I'm used to. They are a bit understaffed but I only go to Sarah anyway.
