I've been going to Andrea Perez for my hair care and maintenance for roughly a decade now, and this is actually the second Compliments Salon location I've followed her to. That alone should say a lot. Not only does she take great care of my hair, but she's also done several friends' and family members' hair over the years as well. I've recommended multiple people to her, including a few guy friends, and I've genuinely never heard anyone leave unhappy. One thing I really appreciate about Andrea is her honesty. I can come to her with inspiration photos or ideas, and she'll realistically explain the best way to achieve the look while still maintaining the health of my hair. If something seems too harsh or damaging, she'll tell you -- and then help create a game plan to safely get you where you want to be over time instead of compromising your hair just for a quick result. I truly value that level of professionalism and care. Andrea has well over 15 years of experience, and it shows. She's knowledgeable, talented, easy to talk to, and her pricing is very reasonable -- which is honestly hard to find these days. Haley was personable and did a really great job with my cut (a shaggy bob style that she shaped to frame my face shape very well) and color (full bleach blonde, cool toned). I have been going to compliments since I started getting hair cuts. Karen is amazing! She has taken care of my mom, sister, and I for as long as I can remember. I hardly ever do anything besides cut my hair. However, whenever I'm looking for some change, I can always count on Karen to take care of my hair. On my last visit I asked for highlights and she knew exactly how to lift my hair to the perfect color. When you're there, there's nothing they don't provide! She's been doing hair for 20+ years and her expertise shows! The other stylists and staff are amazing as well! Bethany, Karen and Mary are awesome! I have been going to this salon since I moved to Jacksonville in 1997. I lucked out and have had Kathleen to cut my hair. I'm not someone who gets color or any special treatment done on my hair. I am very simple and just get a cut and blow dry on my hair. I have lived across town for the last 15 years and I still have my haircut here. Like the salon - don't like employees who don't wear masks. The salon needs to enforce their policy which is posted on their front door - everyone must wear a mask at all times. This employee only wore a mask when working on her own clients - the rest of the time she was walking around with her mask off (draped around her neck). No one in the salon told her to put the mask over her face and there were plenty of people who saw her maskless as she repeatedly walked around. Disheartening that so many care so little. read more

The decor is nicely done and relaxing and the staff is friendly and won't look down on even the worst of conditions that you can bring your hair in. My girlfriend uses Katie and loves her. I'm very generous with that one star. Let me start by saying that I always give a place a chance regardless of the reviews. Up until this place, I've had positive experiences. First impression was a nice, clean place. Next, I asked for highlights and a lighter base color. Julie Lynn darkened my roots, added one color lighter on my tips, then told me " you just need to buy a wig!" She was rude, condescending and loudly bad mouthed people the entire time I was there.Cost me $90 & has to be redone. My husband was in the waiting area the entire time. Absolutely horrible experience. Traveled an hour to get there and the stylist wasn't there. They said she'd be right back. After waiting 30 mins past my appt time, the receptionist texted her. No response. She then called her manager who wasn't on site. The stylist finally called her back 1 hour after the spot time and said she "should" be able to make it in about 20 mins. No one else would take me because it was a Groupon. I told the receptionist that I could not wait any longer, however I repeated twice, that I wanted the manager to call me. Surprise, 4 days later, no call back. Not from the stylist , not from the manager. Rude. Btw, they confirmed that Judy knew she had an appt and I even got a confirmation text the day before. I called a week in advance on a purple color I wanted the lady I talked to even said she paired me with a stylist that does those colors. I get there and she tells me oh we might not have that color and also says this will take longer to do. So I already know they didn't set a right time slot for me. I ended up walking out. I've had this same communication error with another salon before and when they tried to rush my style I left unhappy, what I didn't want. So I knew this was the same situation. I don't know why the person I talked to when I called couldn't of communicated with the stylist the Exact color I wanted so she could have it ready. I live around the corner from this place and pass it nearly every day on my way to Publix next door and I have always been curious. My hair stylist recently moved and so I was on the hunt for someone new. I went on Groupon for a "fresh start" and found this gem. Interestingly enough, I was curious about getting a Brazilian Blowout and the Groupon was for a Brazillian Blowout and Cut. My appointment was with Veronica who recently moved to FL and was trying to build her clientele. She was fantastic. I think I found my new "hair girl." I ended up getting a Brazillian Blowout which I LOVE and now to mention she walked me through all the steps. I also got a cut with more layers than I have ever been adventurous to do and it turned out great. Will definitely be going back. Might try getting my nails done there too. read more

Love my hair! I've struggled to find a good hairstylist in Jacksonville and have bounced around salons. I decided to try this place and was randomly booked with Stacy. SHE WAS AWESOME! Stacy has been doing hair for 40+ years and was so incredibly educated. These are the best blonde highlights and blended layers I've ever gotten - none of those "step" layers that you tend to see on people around town. Terrible. They have great products available to buy (it's hard to find the full Moroccan Oil line anywhere) but their customer service is below par. The staff is very rude. I have curly hair and it's always difficult to manage,.which I understand but when the stylist was washing my hair she says loudly "Whoa is your hair always tangly?!" After trimming my hair, I asked her to use the diffuser to dry and she says "That's an odd request, I don't have a diffuser but I'll ask around." No one in this big place had a diffuser. She came back and said "Well no one really wants that look anymore." I just left with my hair wet. If you have curly hair, DON'T come here! You'll only be insulted and disappointed. read more
