I went in for a wash cut and blow and I experienced what I could only describe as chaos. I entered and was not really greeted, but the woman at the desk, kind of just looked at me, and I said hi, she asked if I had an appointment and I said no. The phone was ringing off the hook, which was overstimulating, but hey, it's normal for a Monday morning in a salon. She took me to her station, we talked about what I wanted and we went back to wash my hair. She did a decent job washing, it's clean but could have used a bit more scrubbing. Anyway, I sat down in the chair and she began cutting. I found the way she cut my hair felt very chaotic. When she was finished in about 5 minutes, which is fine, my cut is pretty easy, she began blow drying. She didn't ask if the cut was ok. Fine, I'm a little uncomfortable at this point, but whatever. She plugged in a curling iron and I asked her not to use it on me because I don't like hot tools when I first get my hair cut because it just makes my ends fray. She rough dried it with a paddle brush and then she took off the cape. She put several pumps of hair oil and ran it through my hair, it looked greasy. I ran my fingers through my hair and it was still damp at the roots. We're in Florida, humidity is going to make my hair a big poofy mess. I told her it was still wet and she blow dried it some more with the paddle brush. Then she grabbed a few more pumps of hair oil, I asked her not to put it near my roots because it gets greasy. I figured at this point there was no way I'd be getting a nice smooth blow out. There was no going back and checking her work for balance. She didn't even look at my angles. Nothing is even. I'm scared to look at the back and make sure it's straight. So I paid. I'm nonconfrontational, but let's just say, this is a bad cut and blow out. I was hoping to feel a little relaxed but it felt chaotic. I got to my car and looked at the cut, the right side has a few pieces that weren't cut and are sticking out from the bottom. I'm very unhappy. Also my hair is stiff and oily from all the oil she put in my hair and it's still frizzy. Her name is Sheila. I've spent the entire day thinking about this and the more I think about it the more upset I become. I know "it's just hair" but really is it? An entire industry is dedicated to it, it's not "just hair". This is my hair that someone played in. Either she was having a bad day, didn't like me for some odd reason, or is incredibly bad at her job. I fixed it to the best of my ability but I do not want to have a re-do, I could never trust another stylist in this salon if this is the caliber of stylists they hire. What should have been one inch off the back so that it would be straighter across the back and not u or v shaped, a clean up of my layers and angles has become such a mess. There are holes in my perimeter. It is now v shaped as I had to figure out how to join the back to the front because of the holes and step in the angle. There is a two inch difference between the shelf she created and my length that cannot be blended. I will need extensions because this is abysmal. Has she never heard of a round brush? That's what a blow out is. What about a nozzle? It's called directing airflow. It's embarrassing to walk around with hair like this. I feel like she going to hide her abysmal cut with curls. I will be telling everyone to avoid Sheila like the plague and tell anyone and everyone to never go to this specific hair cuttery. read more

All I can say is that the entire experience felt extremely shady and misleading. I came in specifically because I found a $20 wash and cut discount directly on their own website. The stylist who did my hair was very kind and actually gave me a good trim without cutting off more than I asked for, which I appreciated. The problem started at checkout. My total came out to $74 and some change, which immediately caught me off guard. I mentioned the discount code, but the stylist said she couldn't find it. Another employee came over to help and also claimed they couldn't locate the code, but said they could take $20 off, which still left me paying over $50 for what was advertised as a $20 wash and cut. I then showed them the actual code on my phone, which clearly stated it included a wash and cut. After more back and forth, they told me they could apply the discount, but I would now have to pay extra for a blow-dry because it was considered a "blowout." I've had real blowouts before, and this was absolutely not one--my hair was just dried mostly straight. In the end, they applied the $20 discount and then added $37 for the blowout, bringing the total to $57. I explained that I had specifically budgeted for the $20 service and that anything over that was out of my price range. Right before I paid, they suddenly adjusted the total to $21, which made the whole situation even more confusing. Doing the math makes none of this add up: they told me their normal cut is $31, and if the blowout was supposedly $37, then where did the original $74 total even come from? What additional charges were added without explanation? The pricing changed multiple times, nothing was clearly communicated, and the numbers never made sense. read more

Was originally supposed to come here in May. Ended up doing something else. Decided to give it another try. Came in Tuesday to ask for an appointment Friday. Set it up and came back after an appointment Friday at 11. My stylist was awesome. She shaved my sides and mixed two colors to get a nice blue/green color on my deathhawk hairstyle. She washed my hair. Used a nice conditioner to help my scalp. We didn't have to bleach, so we straight dyed. Kept my darker roots, which she called shadow root, and dyed above it. Very enjoyable experience and would definitely go back. Definitely recommend making an appointment. They get busy. She took a few clients while I was waiting for my color to set. I was able to use a coupon for my color to get a little bit off. I will definitely be back in the future. read more

I went on a Monday, which is senior day, and all of the stylists demonstrated patience with their censor customers. I requested a haircut, and my stylist Anne made sure to listen to me and give me guidance. I gave a 4 vs a 5 due to the hair being cut too short but hey it will grow back. The young lady who cut my hair did not even have basic barber training much less have cosmetology license. I read after that they let students come in. However they need to warn their customers. I went in for a trim told her to cut as little as possible because I've been growing my hair out for 3 years and she showed me how much she was going to cut off and I was fine with it but what she cut was so much more. My hair was to the top of my butt and now it's barely half way down my back. She cut off like 7 inches and that's not what she showed me she was going to cut off. Tried this Hair Cuttery when I first moved to Jacksonville. Altho the facility was clean, colors bright, my hubby and I noticed that one of the stylists deliberately delayed her cleaning in her station so that she could have another stylist take me and she take the next guy. So my stylist, Tunisia, asked me how I wanted my hair -- "oh, just a trim like what it is now but maybe a 1/2 inch shorter." She had me tilt my head forward (because my hair is longer in the front and she was cutting the back short?) and by the time I looked up, both of my sides were short going from my shoulder to my ear and they were uneven! So she evened them up. Needless to say, once its cut, there's not a thing a stylist could do to stick the hair back on so asking, "is something wrong?" is probably not the right question to ask at a time like that. Needless to say, I paid and left unhappy, for a minute, and vowed not to go to this store and instead try to find a professional stylist in a 'not a chain store' salon.
