I went to Hair Cuttery for a blowout and they charged me a ridiculous "long hair fee." I could understand if you were coloring my hair and using additional product but a blowout? Be so for real. If I could put 0 stars I would. the more I look at my hair the more pissed I get and the more I want to cry. yes I know it's just hair but as a women your hair is important to you. I went to the Saint Johns county Durbin Crossing location yesterday. While Lia was very sweet she does not listen to what her client wants. I wanted a trim. Went in with long hair past the middle of my back and left with shoulder length hair. She showed me an inch she would be cutting off and adding a few layers to give it some body.. her Idea of an inch and mine are completely different. She also sold me on a treatment that would add moisture to my hair as it was very dry. What a waste of money. Not only is my hair butchered it's just as dry as it was when I went in, she might as well as put water on my hair. If you are okay having your hair butcherd by all means you are in good hands. If you value your long hair and want to keep it don't go here. She asked how I liked it and I told her she definitely did not keep as much length As possible. She said she only took 3 inches it's still long... her idea of long and mine are definitely different. So disappointed and now stuck with short hair unless I want to pay for extension. I have pretty long hair and put heat on it every day so I went in to have a deep condition and dead end trim. The lady I had kept saying that a trim wouldn't get all the dead ends and that she could cut them off with layers and I said no to layers. When I looked when she was done (I had to stand up because my hair is so long which is normal for me) it was way too short around my face and I have to go home and look at what they did to the back now. I usually love hair cuttery. I'm not sure if it was a misunderstanding but I told her I needed to keep it as long as I can and that I'm fine with some dead ends being left because I wasn't willing to trim off enough to fully get rid of the dead ends or get layers because the way I style my hair looks bad with layers. They gave me a free hair cut but please please speak up and make sure you are on the same page with your stylist because clearly we weren't. She answered with "nooo, it's not too short and I got the dead ends off which is what I though I was doing and what we agreed on!" NOPE The hair at the front of my face is almost half the length of the back of my hair... I said I didn't want layers and she layered it to HALF the length of my hair... this takes years to grow out evenly again without chopping off my hair. Great recommendations of products for after care and an awesome Preservice treatment to keep my hair super healthy! Updated: Just had a very dissatisfying conversation with the manager. I ended up being overcharged at the register and she was less than helpful. My credit card was charged a different amount than the receipt. And I was rung up for a product at a higher price than what was marked on the bottle. I asked for a refund and was not treated respectfully or compassionately for this situation. Beware. Website is easy to book an appointment and I chose to be randomly assigned to a stylist since it was my first time at this location. Carrie K took care of me and I couldn't have had better luck! Carrie was so helpful and gave lots of suggestions for what I was wanting and I appreciated her input. I trusted her and came out with a haircut that I love! I would also like to add that even though my hair was in somewhat bad shape, she never talked down to me or made me feel bad about that state it was in. I actually had two bad haircuts in the past six months from two reputable salons that are high end and I paid $200 for haircuts. I was a little gun shy of going to hair Cuttery but I decided I really needed a haircut and I basically told Rebecca how I wanted my hair cut. Walked in past sign that said walk-ins welcome with 1hr 10 minutes until close, no one waiting and two in the chairs that were almost done. I was told that due to an upcoming appointment in 40 minutes that there wasn't any time for me today. They didn't even ask about what kind of hair cut I needed. It never takes more than 15 minutes. Shave sides trim the top. I'd understand if I needed a more complicated service but it was easy. I won't waste my time going to this establishment. You shouldn't either.
