While I've used other Hair Cuttery locations, this was my first visit to this particular salon. I made an appointment online for a shampoo, conditioner, cut, and style ($37, before tip, April, 2023) appointment for two days later with "any stylist." The appointment was estimated to take 45 minutes. I'm very pleased with the experience I had at this Hair Cuttery. My stylist was Michelle, and she was clearly an expert at her craft. I'm not a particularly fussy customer, but I did show the stylist a few photos,of hair styles that I like. She then proceeded to shampooing, conditioning, cutting, and styling my hair (blow drying with a round brush). I love the final cut/style, and it was perfectly in line with the photos that I had shown her. A few extra points. 1. The appointment was "efficient". I was seen a little before my appointment time, and the entire appointment took only about 35 minutes. 2. While the Hair Cuttery offers many other services (color, eyebrows-shaping) and products (shampoos, gels, etc.), I greatly appreciate that the stylist didn't try to up-sell additional services or products. The price at the register was what was expected based on prices posted on their website. 3. Walk-in appointments are available at this location BUT clients are strongly encouraged to make an online appointment as the salon is under-staffed and most of the stylists already have near fully-booked calendars. read more

I bought the Value Package which included a single color process, half highlights, cut, shampoo, conditioner, style for $182. When I went to pay I was told that it was "$247 today because of the toner and extra color." To which I replied that I would be paying $182 not $247. If you're going to do anything to my hair that costs extra, you needed to tell me." The manager replied "I agree," and I paid minus a 10% off coupon. Apparently hair salon owners try to pull this trick too when a client buys off Groupon. You are under NO obligation to pay one dime more than what you signed up for. This is a shady trick that is their responsibility to reveal. My girl was nice and did a pretty good job, but I was there for 3.5hrs and then try to upcharge me. Sadly I will not be back. read more

I went in on December 30, 2020 after scheduling an appointment online. I had an idea in mind and also a picture that I took directly off of the Hair Cuttery Facebook page so I assumed they would be more than capable. I've never had my hair professionally colored before and at almost 35 years old, wanted to treat myself. I booked the most expensive value color package so I could make up for any additional color costs. This supposedly included a signature cut as well. I showed the stylist my reference photos and a few others and she assured me she could do that. I felt comfortable and she appeared quite confident. I was quoted $216 and I was okay with that. It wasn't very busy but they were down to two stylists. She was jumping between me and other clients so much that I ended up being there for 6.5 hours!!!!!! The process included foils and bleach and at one point the foils had somehow rested on my face and completely bleached a part of my eyebrow. It was missing. I stood up and looked in the mirror and was mildly freaking out. The stylist did not apologize but told me later that we could attempt to use eyebrow tint to fix it. She did a shadow root technique but used an ash color and in some spots it's extremely sporadic and streaky. I was there 30 minutes past closing and I asked her if it was possible to come back the following day to complete the cut and fix my eyebrow. I get home and my hair was sooooo dark. Not in any of the light in my house could you tell that it was purple. I was pretty disappointed, not going to lie. I had noticed a lot of spots where my red underneath was not even touched and just overall streakiness. But still, I went back the next day to finish up. I pointed out a few of my concerns and was told that it was part of the "shadow root" but you can tell it's not. We attempted tinting my eyebrow and it would just not take after 3 attempts. So on to the Signature Haircut. I was looking for more layers and to get it thinned out a bit. She did about a 5 minute trim and sent me on my way. All in all I spent $266 and feel like I got completely ripped off. I've used constant deep conditioners, color depositing conditioners, masks, and cooler water to try and extend the color and nothing has helped. Picked up some Schwarzkopf purple hair dye and I'm going to touch up my hair at home. I'm very untrusting now. read more

Possibly the worst place to get a haircut besides going to your friend's house and letting them cut it for you. I am a guy with long hair, and the first time I went, I asked for a trim. The lady proceeded to cut my hair, and since I was leaving for college soon, she decided that I "needed an older haircut". I said no thank you, just a trim please. The lady then went on to practically cut the hair on the side of my head down to nothing and barely touch the top and the back. I eventually had to go home and fix it myself to make myself not look like a fool. A few months later, I decided to give them one more shot. Once again, my hair had finally grown back out to the length I like it and once again, I asked for just a trim. This one was much worse. A different lady this time cut my hair down to nothing on the sides, cut the back of my hair unevenly, and cut the top of my hair so bad that there was dip in my hair between the back and the front. I had to go home and once again, fix it myself. I don't know how these people are licensed professionals if they are not even able to do the simplest of requests. For your own sake, I'd highly recommend not going here unless you want your head to get absolutely butchered. read more
