Just an okay haircut. I wanted a bunch of longish layers and specified I like razor cuts best. My hair is fine but a razor frees up the curl I have in the best way. That's not so much on trend I know. Hardly anyone uses a razor anymore. She just point cut it and the layers are pretty heavy. They're not blended in very much at all. It needed at least texturizing shears if a razor wasn't in her skill set. It was cute when I left but once I got home and styled as normal my straightener revealed the blending issues. But it was cheap so no biggie. I can curl it or wear it up for awhile. Cute salon though if you're looking for something simple. EDIT: The manager reached out to me and offered me a recut. It looks so much better now! I should have just given them a call in the first place but I felt like since a week had gone by I had missed the window for a redo. No picture for the after unfortunately since I got caught in a massive downpour immediately after. But definitely so much better! read more

I really needed a haircut and decided to come here. I randomly was assigned to Stephanie. She was friendly and listened to my hair dilemma. I am usually not too shy about cutting my hair to get rid of the unhealthy ends and she was not afraid to cut. I got a really nice cut where she thinned out the ends (it is pouffier and flairs out) as the top flattens from the weight, so my hair didn't look like the Liberty bell anymore. I went to Fringes for a cut and highlights. The cut is OK. The color is WRONG. I asked for a warm honey blonde and what I got was extreme bleach blonde. Not only that, the price quoted me was around $169. I thought this was high, but decided to go with it anyway. Imagine my SHOCK when the total was $340!?!!! The stylist quickly left after my cut, leaving the receptionist to super charge me! I paid, but I am NOT HAPPY and will not be returning. read more

New to the area, I found Fringe on Yelp and my new stylist Jennifer W. and I couldn't be happier. The salon was bright, clean, and very pleasant. I was welcomed first by Amanda, who was friendly and professional. Jennifer, also friendly and professional, took the time to get to know me and my hair, listening closely to what I wanted, and also my concerns. She offered her thoughts, explained what she envisioned and wanted to do, and then went to work. She gave me a great cut and style, as well as tips on how to boost my hair volume when doing it myself. She did an outstanding job with my eyebrows and gave me tips on those too. I don't think I would recommend this salon to anyone. I took my daughter there for a simple one length haircut, no layers or anything and what should have been very straightforward was one of the worst haircuts I think she's ever had. She wanted the stylist, Jennifer to cut her hair to shoulder length and she couldn't even do that, as she left quite a bit of length on. And then I noticed tonight as I caught sight of the back of her hair, Jennifer had had left one section of hairs about 3 inches longer than the rest. In addition to this, it took her about an hour and a half just to do what should have been a basic one length cut. I also noticed one side of her hair is longer than the other. After all was said and done, I was charged around $75.00 for what was supposed to be someone who was skilled at working with curly hair. We will probably have it corrected somewhere else, because it seems really problematic to me that they would even have someone like that working on actual clients. (See pictures.) read more

I got a horrible haircut at chain spot yesterday and I couldn't bear to keep it for longer than a day. I came here due to the high reviews and I am glad I did! My stylest was able to see the problems with my previous cut and was able to even things out in the back. Valerie!! Such a wonderful hair stylist. She really understood the assignment. Initially, she called me to talk about my plan after I booked online. She remembered exactly what I said! She picked the perfect colors to dye my roots and to dye the bottom half a dark purple. She took the time to really make sure that I was getting what I wanted and she made sure that I was comfortable and not anxious (as I usually feel about my hair being done). She had great conversations as well, let me do a lot of talking, and related back to me about the subjects I brought up. I went to another local salon and got butchered and because I'm having photos taken next week, I had to get it fixed from someone who knows what they're doing. Voted best in Chesapeake so I gave Fringe a call. The receptionist was warm and welcoming and got me in right away. Jennifer was extremely helpful and corrected my haircut and gave me what I wanted, a soft cut. She corrected my bangs that were looking like a 90s sitcom mom. My hair is now cute and fits my face. DO NOT COME HERE. It was my first time ever having any sort of coloring done to my hair, and I asked Michelle to do subtle purple highlights in my hair. She agreed to do that amount and color. When I came in she insisted that it was balayage and not partial highlights (which was like $70 more). When doing my hair, she bleached small sections of my hair but put the color over my whole head. I told her again that I just wanted partial highlights and she again insisted that the color would only stick to the bleached parts. Guess what? It didn't! I walked out with my entire head purple. I was mortified. I expressed my upset then, and a week later to the owner, and they refused to give me a refund. I even agreed to pay for the haircut and let her keep her tip, but I did not think it was fair for me to pay for the color. She still refused and I paid almost $400 in total. I am also a business owner, and always refund unhappy customers. This is just awful business. After two months of dealing with this horrid purple hair, it still has not come out. They told me to keep washing it myself at home or to come back in, so they could strip my hair and do it all over again. Why would I damage my hair like that? After consulting with other hair stylists, they say it is clear that she used demi-permanent, and not temporary. If they truly cared about their clients, they would do what's right an refund my $241. Please do not come here. read more

I want to preface this with the girl was very nice, very personable so this is purely based on level accuracy. See pics. Unfortunately, my hair was blow out in a curl so I didn't notice all the jagged, uneven pieces off of my length until I flat ironed it when I got home. She said I would only need 1 inch off, it's actually more like 3 which isn't so bad if it's done right the first time. Sometimes more is needed, then so be it. But now because I have to have more taken off just to even this up and I have to pay even more, which I don't have, because it looked even when I was there because the ends were curled. I thought an hour and a half for a hair cut would mean it was thorough. Sorely disappointed based on all the reviews here. Again, the stylist was very friendly but just inept. I called on a spur of the moment to see if there were any available appointments and I was able to get in that afternoon. They have three levels of stylists so you can stay within your budget. Christina listened to what my growing out goals were for my hair and she gave it a good shaping while keeping the length. Beautifully decorated salon with very nice people working there. Went for a retouch of my roots. let's just say my hair is burned and falling off, I'm disappointed. she mentioned that this procedure isn't for my hair, After she saw my hair falling off. That I should stick to foils. Keep in Mind that I had gone prior so she can make sure she can do my hair. She said she should be able to lift my hair. Wrong ‍she wasn't able to, it stayed with a brassy orange line until she said I should come back to where it's closer to my root. So I did one month later. Here I am writing this review. Still orangy and falling off wtf. I'm from California always been a blonde and never had this damage done to my hair The good thing it will grow back. I wish I had a different review. I don't normally leave reviews anywhere but this is important to me. If your hair is important to you, do not go to this salon. In June I got a beautiful balayage here. Recently I had some gray hair around my temples so I went in for a root touch up and I wanted to add a few more highlights to freshen up the balayage. When I talked to the stylist (a different one from before) she said all I would need is the root touch up and a toner. I TRUSTED HER. I trusted that she is a professional and knows what she is talking about. We talked about the root color and I asked for a lighter color because the last time it was a touch too dark. She put the root color on my hair and then the toner. When she washed it out my hair was dark brown. I came in with a blonde balayage. I was so upset. I asked her what happened and she just kept saying that she followed what was in the computer. She took no responsibility whatsoever for completely covering up the balayage and making my hair dark brown. I did not want to leave like that so I asked her what could be done. It was almost closing time and it seemed like she wanted me to just leave like that. I was pretty upset and near tears and she said she could apply some lightener. She ended up sloppily applying some type of lightener and now it just looks like a brassy one tone mess that I have to deal with for a month before I can have someone re-do it. read more

Two weeks ago I had my first professional hair cut since the beginning of Covid. Christina was my stylist and she did a really great job. My hair is thin and fine. She consulted with me, asking what I was hoping to achieve. I told her to fix me - and she did. I have a lovely style, great for my hair. I can take care of it easily. My daughter told me she thinks it is the best haircut I've had in years, even when I regularly going to the salon. I agree! I'll be seeing Christina again and again. Thanks! read more

Huge disappointment . It's not worth the money. The shampoo and blow dry was nice. But they don't know how to layer hairs properly. If this is your last resort, watch out. Don't let them curl your hair because it hides the imperfections and their mistakes. read more

I'll start by saying my stylist was really nice. I spent 15 minutes explaining exactly what I wanted and even showed her a picture of what my old stylist had dome before she moved out of town. She got the color right but when I asked for chunky highlights, she ended up dispersing pencil thin highlights mixed into my hair instead of the 1" wide highlights I asked for. The 2 highlights she did manager don't even go half way down my hair. After blow drying my hair, she did not style it or put any serums or ANY product in my hair (maybe I am just used to my old stylist when it came to post color steps). When she pulled the apron off of me, she dumped all of the cut hair in my lap. I am sure it was an accident but it didn't help things. At no point after my hair was dry did she use a mirror to show me the back or even ask me what I thought. I realize it was after hours when we were done but I felt rushed out of the door and to add insult to injury.. after a "discount" I still spent $85 more than I did at my old stylist. :( read more

I am very scared to have anyone touch my hair. It's thick, long and curly. I met Adrinne at a booth they set up at the Jubilee. She took so much time with me and listened to my fears and what I like. I went in and she was incredible. Talked to me about the damage on my ends but was very sympathetic to my fear of cutting my hair. She found different methods to make my hair healthy and keep it healthy. I will never go anywhere else. She took the time to even educate me on how to maintain my fantasy colors and healthy look. I was wanting to get my hair highlighted and looked on line for a salon that was open on Sunday since I have a difficult schedule. I was happy to see fringe was available and won best of Chesapeake. I arrived and was happy they could take me. The stylist's we're all super friendly, including the sytlists doing my hair. I showed her a picture of what I wanted. The process took a long time which I am a use to since I have very thick hair. I have been getting my hair highlighted for 20 yrs. Anyways, she took her time with my hair but my roots do not match my ends. That was my whole reason getting my hair done. The end result was just okay but the cost for what I received was insane. She charged me 3x for cost of bleach? I have never had a charge for bleach before. I would have been okay if I was completely in love with the result but again never charged for cost of bleach used. My ends look fried and again do not match my roots. Will not return. read more

I had a bad haircut at a local chain and the first free minute I had to have it fixed was after work on a Friday night. Google said they closed at 7; I called the salon at 5:45, and they told me to come on in. I was so relieved I could be accommodated on such short notice, and Shelby was so personable; no part of my visit felt rushed so she could get out of there. I was further relieved when she got my appointment done before 7; I would have felt terrible had it run over! I had a great experience and am so happy with the results. I will be back.
