I was visiting the area and lucked out and slipped into a now-show slot for a manicure as a walk-in. Everyone was very friendly and I loved my basic manicure. I enjoyed a relaxing pedicure with Ashley. The environment was comfortable, all the staff I encountered were friendly and Ashley was very attentive. She clearly enjoys what she does and I would be happy to book with her again for any of her services. I was lucky to book an appointment when Town was quiet so parking was easy. I'm obsessed with the haircut I got from Tegan at Hair Fusion! I just started down the curly girl method rabbit hole and found that Hair Fusion was the only salon in the Durango area that is "DevaCurl Ceritified" and decided to try them out for my first Devacut. I was not disappointed. My stylist, Tegan, was friendly and answered all my questions about how to properly care for my curls. I had a picture of the cut I wanted and she continued to ask for my input throughout the cut so I got exactly what I wanted! The best part was, she didn't try to swindle me on all the Devacut products at the end. She showed me how the products worked and explained what might suit my specific hair type but was never pushing me to buy, buy, buy! I didn't buy anything after my cut but it is nice to know that if I ever need anything, Hair Fusion carries all the Devacurl products. I am so so happy with the outcome of my first Devacut! My hair feels 100x lighter, bouncier and I'm in love with my brand new bangs. I'll definitely be going back to see Tegan, especially since she offers complimentary bang touch ups! read more

New to NM and didn't trust anyone here so I went to durango. Very busy salon but super cool place and easy to find. I've never had trouble finding close parking either. Faith is who I saw and she is super cool! Listened to what I wanted and gave me her time, advice and good work. I would recommend her to anyone! Tegan and Alyssa came all the way to pagosa springs for my wedding hair and makeup. They did an AMAZING job and I got compliments on both all weekend. Tegan did great with my crazy hair and extensions and my smokey eyes looked amazing. I have never felt more like a movie star. I've been in for hair cuts and coloring...they do an okay job. My hair cuts were good, coloring wasn't worth the money, but it wasn't enjoyable to be there. The atmosphere is uncomfortable and it can be pretty noisy. Stopped going there once I found a different hairstylist. read more

Let me start by saying I don't write reviews ever but felt this is one I need to save people from.I went there just the other day to get maintain my bangs and honestly received the worst haircut of my life my bangs look like a four year old cut them and not only that they were cut so short they fall in the middle of my forehead. I also told her I like wispy almost curtain bangs and she proceeded to cut a straight line across my forehead And the line isn't even even! It makes sense though, because she was not paying any attention while cutting my hair. Fully I cried after leaving that place my hair is now ruined for the next month not to mention, this was just a treat for myself before I go on spring break. Be careful who you get for color. First time there, I was going from brown to blond and it came out orange! Went back a few days later to have her correct it and I came out with just a lighter orange. Also wanted a cut but she wouldn't do it. She definitely had no idea what she was doing and I paid the price for this one!!!! Wish she would have told me before starting. Tegan and Carlee (spelling may not be correct) did an amazing job with hair and make up for our wedding at purgatory! The styling was amazing they were both so easy to work with. When I get my hair done I'm usually intimidated and never say what I do and don't like but they were both so nice and easy going, it was easy to talk with them and experiment with styles and lipstick colors. We had done a trial a few months ago which went great but even so they were very receptive to any changes or improvements I had asked about. Had my dark brown hair dyed platinum blonde and they did an excellent job, I tend to get really brassy orange tones in my roots and with a good deep toner and deep condition my hair came out looking white blond just how I wanted it, I've never had a salon be able to get those orange tones muted down like Hair Fusion did. Additionally due the quality and lengthy deep condition and gentle styling after the dye my hair came out silky shiny and soft even after the bleach and toning damage. Oh and did I mention all this including a trim was only $120! (not including the tip I left) highly recommend Hair Fusion. Really disappointed in Hair Fusion... I hate leaving bad reviews but Hair Fusion is a place I would never recommend. I went there two years ago to get prom makeup and hair done with some friends, we all left feeling disappointment, the makeup was done quickly and lazily (and very expensive for what we got!!) We went home and redid everything. A few weeks ago I decided to give it a second chance and get a haircut. I've been searching Durango for someone who can cut curly hair. Needless to say, they ruined my natural curl and the cut is really choppy. The stylists all seemed very unprofessional and it was an uncomfortable atmosphere to be in. read more

I went here to get a manicure for my birthday back in February and Vanessa did a GREAT job (as always). The place is really cool - a totally different look than any other salon I'd been in before in Durango. Everyone who works there seems very friendly and they're always busy (which to me is a sure sign that they're doing a GREAT job already!). I highly suggest visiting Vanessa for a manicure (or one of the many other services she provides!). Terrible experience. I went in for a hair and make up consult for my wedding. I got complete sass from Tegan after I suggested the hair-do wasn't what I was really wanting and asked to tweek some parts of it. She got very upset and said she couldn't redo the hair once she put it in place. She also kept saying that I have really thin hair and that the braid I was looking for just wasn't possible. I wish you could see the amount of hair I have on my head, it's enough to make several wigs for cancer kids out of.. I mean seriously people.. I ended up needed her to take out everything she did so that I could go to work afterwards not looking like a hot mess. Right afterwards I sat down in Harley's chair for the make-up portion. I said I wanted very light make-up for my wedding, and didn't want a full face mask applied. Harley was very sweet to talk with, she did a great job- but didn't follow what I had expressed that I wanted. She applied a full face coverage, that was way lighter than my skintone, and very heavy eyeshadow. It looked nice, if I were going out on a hot date (minus the foundation part) but again- not what I wanted. I asked if she could go any lighter (for the day of, not asking her to re-do it at that moment) and I got a very similar response that "I really can't go any lighter than that" so off I headed to work.. It lasted about a half hour before the foundation started to crack- leaving me to look like a broken porcelain doll. By lunch time, my eyes had started to melt down and I had long since pulled off the already falling false lashes leaving a trail of goopy mess on my eyelids. I ended up leaving work early to fix my broken face as colleagues started to wonder if I was okay. I ended up putting an ad on the online-garage sale for help, landed Mary Kates number from Beauty Mark and that's all she wrote! Had an amazing experience there. read more

I came in with a couple friends, we had our appointments set like a month in advance! When we walked in we got a welcoming hello and were offered water then walked back to the nail room! Since we were early the woman that was scheduled to do our nails was with another customer but there are massage chairs to relax in while waiting! It was great! Natalie, our nail tech, finished with her previous customer and got started on my friend's manicure. As she was doing that she got my foot soak ready to go! Multitasking at its finest! I chose to do the Spa Pedicure which has a little more luxuries than the Mini Pedicure. It was great! Relaxing and soothing. Natalie was very professional and nice. Usually when I get pedicures they're more aggressive and kind of painful but this was not at all like that! I'm very happy we chose to come here and check it out.
