I took my soon to be 3 y/o son here for his 1st official hair cut. Apparently, dad's buzz cuts don't count as "official". We called from Beavertail Lighthouse in Jamestown to make the appointment and we were seated immediately upon our arrival. That's approximately 30 minutes notice. Thrilled that they were open on a Monday! My son's hair came out amazing. My wife was brought to tears when she saw our son and my son absolutely loves it! The cherry on top: One of the other stylists had brought her 9 week old Husky/Lab mix puppy into work. The puppy was absolutely adorable and loved my son. There was lots of petting of the puppy and puppy kisses all around. Truly a 5 Star experience! We will be back! read more

I looked this place up a few weeks ago but wasn't able to schedule an appointment due to work schedule conflicts. Today I decided to do another search & this place popped up again. Great reviews! Great location. I went in (walk-in) and they said that someone would be available in an hour. I had some lunch, took a walk. I walked in and was greeted by the most beautiful smile and energy...and the stylist said my name, which was very personable for a first time visit. Immediately she listened to what I wanted and she welcomed pics. The conversation was real and genuine. Onto the cut...I have curly hair. Big curls! and I've been burned by stylists that claim to be able to handle that. So I had been cutting my own hair for a while now. But I wanted a cut tailored to how I would wear it straightened. She had many ppl in her family with similar hair and was very experienced with how it lays when wet and dry and curled and straight so that made me relax. The cut came out beautifully. She styled it (blew it out and flat-ironed it). It was still too long for my job requirement (military), so she trimmed more until it was just right! It has volume, dimension, bounce, angles, maintained length. Perfection!! I won't go to anyone else! If you have a similar hair type and similar woes or concerns, go see DEBBIE !! Hair on Mane (formerly Guys & Gals Hair Salon) is fantastic. All of the girls there are so friendly and welcoming. I've never had any issue getting an appointment and they are very flexible (at times even offering to stay open late so I could get in after work if I wanted)! Their prices are very affordable, especially compared to some of the outrageous prices I've heard from other salons. They are also very detail-oriented and really take the time.
