My crown area had become almost completely bald, and I also had significant thinning through the mid-scalp. At this point, I am seeing real growth in the crown and noticeably greater density through the middle of my scalp. I understand that the full result takes time, so I am still relatively early in the process, but what I am seeing so far has made me very happy with my decision. One thing I especially appreciate is how natural and gradual the change has been. Hair restoration is not an overnight transformation. The growth happens progressively, which was actually a positive for me because the change did not suddenly draw attention from friends, family, or colleagues. Over time, you simply begin to look younger and more like yourself again - with your own natural hair growing back. I did a great deal of research before deciding to have a transplant, and I had plenty of questions and concerns going into it. My consultation with Dr. Jeremy Wetzel was a major reason I felt comfortable moving forward. The procedure itself was much easier than I had expected. With local anesthesia, I did not find the procedure painful. I had some minor discomfort for about a week afterward, but nothing I would describe as severe. The hardest part for me personally was being told I could not work out for roughly two weeks, and as someone who spends a lot of time in the gym, that may have been the most difficult part of the entire process! What really stood out, however, was the level of personal care after the procedure. Dr. Wetzel personally called and texted to check on me, and I had his direct cell number if I had a question or concern. That kind of access and follow-through is rare. The entire Anderson Center for Hair staff was also kind, helpful, and caring before, during, and after the procedure. Based on my experience so far, I would give Dr. Wetzel and the Anderson Center for Hair five stars. They clarified my concerns for side effects of oral finasteride and got me started on oral finasteride and increased my dosage for oral minoxidil. Contrary to what the internet might have you think, only 5% of patients that take oral finasteride have ED side effects. They also seemed genuinely attuned and attentive to what I had to say. I felt cared for and that they weren't just trying to sell me something. Another selling point was the ability to do Exosome therapy and PRP on the day of my procedure. The aftercare was impressive as I got regular follow up calls and was able to text Dr. Wetzel with any questions/concerns to which I had many. They were very patient with me. This pigmentation, that was supposed to replicate hair follicles, turned out to be a horrible and disgusting mess of a tattoo that is on my scalp. I am now forced to live with this and pay even more money to get it taken off. She guaranteed that it would look completely natural, when the contract that was signed stated that the practitioner is not responsible for the quality of the interpretation of the tattoo, implying that there is a chance it could look terrible. $4,000 was given to her to complete this. It was a waste of my time and certainly a waste of my money. She does not deserve a penny of it for the extremely poor quality of the job, and how I was treated when asking questions. The dots are too large and the wrong kind of ink was used. The hairline all over is extremely straight and unnatural. I consulted His Hair Clinic and Scalp Aesthetics for a review of this job. Both of these companies are well-established and reputable and stated that this procedure is clearly not passable, and is pathetic in how it was outlined. She refused to give me a refund.
