Today was my first visit at this Salon. I have to say.. excellent staff, very accommodating, kind and very knowledgeable. I took their advice and walked out of the salon feeling better than a million bucks! Yes, that is possible. The store is managed with excellence and the staff works together like a true team! Came here to cover my grays. The last time I was in a hair salon was 5 months ago; so I have brown hair and ombre on the edge. I asked to cover roots ( i do not have a lot I am only 34) and asked if she(Debbie/ Deborah) partially can bleach my hair without making it orange/green yellow. She said 'of course, no problem'. I said if it will turn green or orange, I do not want it. She said it would not be. So I did not get anything I asked for. My gray hair was still gray; after she bleached it, it did not turn any other color but was damaged. Eric was there and tried to clean her mess. When I asked if he gonna cover grays again, she asked 'what grays, I covered them'. After I and Eric pointed out they are still gray, she blame me that my hair being too grown(!). Daaa, that is why I came in the first place! However, even though Eric tried to help me; I left with greenish partial hair with covered(after the second time) grays but charged more because Eric did second-time coverage. It is ridiculous. Debbie needs to upgrade her eyeglasses prescription, and stop blaming naturally grown hair for her mistakes. She rushed and did a detailed job. Never stop here again! And if you read until here, the only advice I give with my experience is 'RUN'! I do not care about the money I spent; or time - I wasted- but the damage to my hair! Terrible experience. read more

My hair cutter was distracted and paying attention to conversations across the room which seemed odd. My hair cut seemed to end a little abruptly. I didn't realize until I got home and many of the normal hair cut elements (trimming side burns, around and behind ears, and back of neck) had not been completed. Totally disappointing. Had to use clippers and scissors to clean it all up myself. Never coming back. read more

So I got a horrible hair dye at Superfranco's In the Crossgates Mall. I came to hair studio One in hopes of getting my hair fixed and they did more than that. The girls were so nice I got my hair fixed by Brandy and she didn't excellent job considering how bad my hair was walking in. They were friendly, give me a complementary deep condition wash because Superfranco's damaged my hair, and barely charged me anything! Such a cute place with a very talented hairstylist. Highly recommend. read more

I love hair studio one and I love how they use Goldwell instead of Sally's. The first time I went to hair studio one, my hair was uneven on the sides by almost 3" due to a very bad haircut I got from a friend starting cosmetology. I already knew my hair was shorter on one side, but the manager Emily made sure I & everyone else in the store knew that my hair was uneven - kind of embarrassed me a little. Especially sense I told Emily at the beginning of the appointment that I would need a trim to get that fixed. She said "no problem as long as your willing to trim it and match it up". of course I was fine with this, I wanted my hair even. Throughout the appointment Emily continued to point out embarrassing things about my hair, including the uneven cut, the color of my roots and even the way my hair brushed out when it was wet. after paying Emily almost $120 dollars by the time my color and cut was done it was safe to say I was to embarrassed by Emily's rude way of going about telling everyone my hair issues, that I was not coming back until she was replaced. Later they did replace Emily and now the manager Dina checks me in every time and I feel MUCH more comfortable going their. My friend works there and last month I had one of the best highlight/ lowlight jobs I've ever had done! thank god they got rid of their rude snooty manager because I truly do love hair studio one and the products it offers!! read more

I would put zero stars but it is not an option. Workers have very bad attitudes and were extremely rude. Hard to work with and frequently complaining and not cooperating. Way too over priced for below-quality service provided. I would recommend not going to Hair Studio One. I had to go home and fix my hair myself. I am writing this review to express my thanks to all the personnel at Hair Studio One in Glenmont. At age 65, I retired from Law Enforcement and decided to let my hair grow long. I'm lucky to have a full head of hair thanks to my lineage. So growing my hair wasn't a problem. When I was younger, I had long hair but it wasn't ever styled. So this time I decided to go to a professional hair stylist to achieve my goal. I decided on Hair Studio One in Glenmont because it was convenient and close to home. At first I was apprehensive about going to a hair salon because I thought it was only for women . Boy was I ever wrong! Many times while I'm in the salon there are an equal number of men and women customers. I was first meet by the hair stylist Debra B. who was very charming and asked me if she could help me. I told tell her my intensions to let my hair grow long and that I wanted it styled. Debra was more then willing to help me and proceeded to "work her magic". I felt very relaxed as we made small talk getting to know each other. Debra originated a plan on how to achieve my goal with monthly visits and using quality hair products. Since my first visit (2) years ago, I now have attractive long hair which many people have noticed and made positive comments on it. I now hold my head up high with my fashionably styled long hair. Thank you Debra for being my hair stylist and I look forward to seeing you each month. I would also like to comment on the store manager Sonja. She makes sure that the shop is always clean and has a very pleasant atmosphere. She has an amazing memory and knows your product lines inside and out. Sonja very professional and keeps the shop "fresh" with ideas for customers and employees...(this past spring there was the wheel of fortune game and this month's pick your favorite Halloween mannequin). These ideas exhibits a person of talent and I hope that she will be compensated for her stellar job performance. I usually use this salon when my kids need hair cuts or I need a quick cut or my eye brows done... Sonja is amazing with kids and works really hard. I can't say so for the older lady in that shop though... I just signed in to get my eye brows done at 9:12, one of the older stylists let me sit for almost 20 minutes... her excuse was that she had an appt walking in. I'm sorry but eye brows are a quick fix and do not require more than 10 minutes at the most. She refused to do my eye brows in favor of an appt that hadn't arrived yet... Why? I am at a loss as to of why I was not giving equal service. Not sure whether I will be back. If I had gotten her name I would have called corporate... I am certain this older woman could have fit me in between cuts but flat out refused to do so.. How unprofessional and rude. If you don't want walk-ins then please don't post "walk-ins welcome" on your literature for the store. read more
