I had the worst professional experience of my life. Viby was mean, rude, and did a very bad job.I…read morehad my first visit with Viby 3.5 weeks ago for extension install. It was supposed to be a weft sewn in but without my knowledge and my consent she used a different install method with silicone bids. The install was supposed to last between 6-8 week, but only lasted 3 weeks. I went in Friday for a little face framing color and to pull up extensions. She suggester a reinstall but even it was her fault that I needed a correction to the install she told me she would have to charge again the full cost of install (which I already paid 3.5 weeks earlier $470). I told her I didn't want a full install, to just do a pull up for the cost of $110 and the color. After doing the color she started to pull up the extensions. Then without consulting and without mentioning anything to me she decides to remove my extension to do a full reinstall. I was shocked since I told her I didn't want it, but she told me the hair were too tangled to pull up. (note that she is the one who tangled my hair in the process of hair coloring for shampooing). To be able to see her I had to hire a babysitter for 4h, after that I had to leave to go get my kids and drive back there with them since she went way past the time. She proceeded to the reinstall of extensions, I was not facing the mirror, until when I turned the chair and realized she changed (once again without a consult or my knowledge) the type of install of my weft. I was scared and mortified when I realized she used a method of gluing my weft of extensions down with hot keratin (a method that does not exist for full weft and is not used by any hairdresser) not only this, she did the first row interchanging a bead of silicone, and one glued with keratin, after realizing the big mistake she made, she installed the second row all with keratin WITHOUT even informing me or asking me if I was ok with it! I told her I was not happy, my hair color looked nothing like my inspo picture, the color was reddish and not blonde and my hair extensions were installed in a wrong method. I pointed out that the keratin was not well installed, too much was used, it was too bulky, painful and you could see it from the back and side of my hair, and I could not pull my hair in a ponytail anymore, the keratin was touching my ears in both sides making it uncomfortable. She got very defensive, she told me we could no longer work together, and she invited me to leave without even doing my blow out! When I arrived home my husband took pictures of the extensions install and I realized that it was even worse that I thought. She ruined my recently purchased $750 extensions gluing down to my hair making it ugly, very uncomfortable and painful. I messaged her asking for a refund. She again denied any responsibility even if pictures clearly show how messed up this install was, showing bald spots I did not have before seeing her, irritated scalp, etc. She refused refund, and denied any mistake, offering a complimentary removal. I was scared to go back, fearing she would ruin even more my hair and scalp but during the night I couldn't lay down with my head since the glue was too bulky and pulling all my natural hair so when I woke up, desperate I agreed to have Viby removing the extensions since it was my only option to be done the same day. I asked her to please wash my hair as I didn't want the chemical to dry or ruin my hair, she was very annoyed by my request and told me she would wash but not dry it as she had another client coming. After the wash I asked her if I could use her blow-dryer while she was removing the glue from my extensions but she rudely told me she would not remove the glue from my extensions and she would not allow me to use her blow-dryer. She sent me out of the salon with wet hair, my completely unusable extensions, and the product to clean them myself. She was beyond rude, very mean on her comments, and completely unprofessional. She also left the salon 5 minutes later and did not have another client.

Positive Yelp reviews of Nail Designer, Van Tu brought me to this darling hidden gem of a beauty…read moresalon last month. It's next door to the Wells Fargo Bank, only half a block from my home here in Coronado! Don't let its intimate size fool you though...it is a full-service salon that just recently went through an updated contemporary "face-lift." Van's space is privately located in the breezy back of the shop which I preferred away from the main stream traffic. She is such a personable gal w/a fun dynamic personality and we hit it off immediately w/our ethnic heritage that we both share! (My mom's name is also Van?!) I had been taking a long break from gel manicures because of the UV lights, but Van assured me that they now only use LED lights... so I was very happy to resume my shellac nails which she does so beautifully Her pedicures are even better...my neglected feet were smoothly reborn after her skilled callous treatment & lavish foot massage! I'm absolutely thrilled to have discovered Van here in my local salon and am almost hesitant to share her...but she deserves to be applauded and recommended for her awesome nail expertise!!
