I hate nail salons that take your reservation and then can't be bothered to actually save a place for the appointed time. And I REALLY hate salons that then lie when you show up on time, hustle you to the pedicure station, shoes off etc.. and then let you wait. And when I ask when the staff will be ready - the manager shrugs her shoulders and says - :sorry, last minute walk-in just ahead of you. Wait time 20 minutes." And they haven't even started the walk-in's pedi, so more like 30 minutes. Let's face it - most salons offer similar services, nail colors and ambiance. So the customer service experience is key. Don't take my reservation (made at the time that THEY suggested) and then keep me waiting because you couldn't turn down a walk-in. read more

My nails are short. I normally do not get my nails done but I wanted to get them done for a wedding. The technician cut them past the nail bed to make them rounded shape and she was kept trimming the skin around the nail and it stung. i should have told her to stop. It's been 3 days and it still stings. The polish looks good but it would have looked good without trimming my skin and the sides of my nail too. read more

Now I understand the 4 out of 5 stars. I called and made an appointment for me and my fiance , came to our appointment the next day which was for 4pm, get there and they ask us to come back in 30 minutes which was really annoying & rubbed me the wrong way, I would have just not come back & went somewhere else if I didn't need my nails done so bad. Our appointment was over $350 & that wasn't including the tip we gave them and let me tell you I didn't even get anything extravagant. I get it we're in Coronado. But for the price they could be a little more professional. During my appointment they asked a few walk ins to come back , which they did and then still didn't take them because they were backed up because of the mess up not putting our appointments in when I called the day before. Vibe was off. Not even a week later one of my nails broke for no reason, then a few days later another one broke. Should not happen for the price we paid. I came back in and asked to have them fixed please and I'd pay for it. No customers were in there. She said she's really busy & if I could come back . I looked at her and said "you're really busy, no one is in here" she said she had a client at 11. So she had 20 minutes to fix my two nails. And honestly could have made that person wait 10 minutes if that be the case. She made us wait 30 minutes and we had an appointment the first time. Really ,really off putting. Super annoying for the price I paid & the treatment of paying customers. Not coming back & do not recommend this business if you value your time and money. read more

It was my first time ever having something done to my brows and she was excellent in making sure I was comfortable and not making my new brows look too extreme. After reading the reviews, I decided to go here to get my brows waxed and nails done. Though I was there at 10am (hours on the door still say open at 9am), no one was there. So I returned and asked to schedule with Diane (as she was recommended by a few people on Yelp). After repeatedly requesting her, I was eventually told that she wasn't coming in and so was told to wait for someone to return to the salon. After a few minutes, she did return and also said that Diane was not available. The services were done well, but no drink was offered. (The website said everyone gets a choice of two drinks.) Also, using a credit card costs $2. So mixed feelings on this but glad my brows and fingernails look good. read more

I should have been weary when this place was completely empty with no customers on a weekend . As another customer wrote, this salon does punish you with horrible work if you do not want gel. Manicure was bumpy and paint left over my cuticles, plus horrible shaping (half of my fingernails were crooked)! And my 2 big toe nails were also crooked! I was a walk-in yesterday and my technician was Diane. I needed my gel polish removed and I wanted nail dip. I was quoted $55 (they charge to remove polish which I haven't seen in other salons). That was fine. I picked my colors. I wanted a different color on each nail. (5 colors total which I picked out and lined up in order for her to make it easy for her). She then told me it would be an additional $5 because it was soooo much more difficult. (Like I said, I lined up the colors for her and she was not using any additional product), but okay, whatever. I was burnt by her first drill. I then let her know that my cuticles are extremely sensitive. She then cut me with a file (which my finger is on fire today as anyone who has been cut under the nail bed knows it's excruciating.) The one thing I did like was that there is a really large selection of colors for dip nails. However, the colors were NOT accurate at all. Please see pics below. I picked what looked like identical colors to the picture, but the colors were so off, they looked nothing like the picture. Oh, and lastly, when I went to pay, she told me she had to charge me another dollar for using a credit card and I could only tip with cash (which I did not have). So much nickel and diming is exhausting. I do not recommend this place. read more

The good part was that their was no wait, the space was clean and the massage chairs were comfortable. I wish I could give a better rating because I really liked my pedicure from the gentleman that works there but my regular manicure left me feeling like I didn't get what I paid for. All I wanted was my cuticles to be cleaned while I was on the island for the weekend but the lady got defensive when I asked that she clean them better. I was also repeatedly told that I needed to do gel which I was clear about not wanting since I couldn't have paint on my nails for work. She did my whole manicure in about 20 min and didn't paint them evenly but I didn't feel like I could ask her to fix them because she had already denied my cuticle request. My nails are perfect. Prettiest they've been in years and, everyone here is super sweet and helpful.

Came in for a relaxing pedi, it was myself, one lady finishing up, and one other lady in the salon getting serviced (3 customers total). Took about 15 min to get started and once started felt rushed through. Cuticles barely touched on and a sloppy paint job. Nail tech rushed to finish as I was the only one sitting here at the end to enjoy some chips in the corner and on her phone. When looking at my toes after sitting for a few minutes, she came rushing back over saying "ready to go?" I said no, this toe isn't even painted all the way and another has polish all over my pinky toe. She went through and sort of fixed them without apologies. Photos included are of finished toes.. lack of detail and sloppy paint job. No appreciation for business, felt more like a chore - wouldn't recommend. read more

I enjoy leaving reviews for great service given tumultuous times we're in and the challenges that businesses have experienced. In the same token I must also be honest when a business is sub par with glaring deficiencies. The staff at this shop was curtious so that not the issue... My husband and I had a 12pm appt at which we arrived exactly at 12pm. We were asked to check in via their IPAD... We did and sat until called on to have a seat at the pedi chairs. We were seated by approximately ten after which was ok given check in and seat and water fill process by technician. We were walking out as in paid and "all done" by 1229. Two pedicures took two individual techs 19 minutes to perform from start to finish.... The actual pedicure was mediocre... No massage, limited cuticle clean up... Polish and then "Are you paying together....? Cash or card?" $35x2.... We paid $70 plus a $5 tip for a 19 minute pedicure. Yes we tip even a small amount because well it's the right thing to do for service folks. To add, there was another customer there which she was checking out shortly after we arrived. Then it was just my husband and I. I hope this business appreciates constructive criticism. Would like to return if service improves. I walk in not that busy .. they do my friend before me even thou I'm going to take longer after expressing that we need to be done at the same time , I'm told ok 1 min I give her 10 then walk back and say hey!they are almost done !! when will you start mine? im getting my nails and toes done ...she says one 1min she will be right there .. waiting another 15 before starting my friend was done when I started .. what's the point in making a appointment right?? Their are many salons in sd that are better and cheaper! here you pay a bunch of money for your nails to not even be looking good!!
