I saw Amber as a walk in, and I will definitely be back! My hair hadn't been trimmed in nearly a year, but she was non-judgmental and only gave me positive feedback. She did a great job with my haircut and gave me exactly what I wanted (even though I had a hard time describing that to her). Everyone was friendly and the prices were fair. I myself don't have hair, so I don't need a Hair We Are, but my wife and 3 kids (Teen Boy, Teen Girl, almost Tween Girl) all have hair and they love this place!! They've strayed away a time or two because its a busy place and getting an appointment with the favorite hair do'er (Brittany Alderman!!) on short notice can be tough... and almost every time they stray, Brittany has to fix it. The straying get less often these days. The prices aren't cheap, but they aren't super expensive. We've tried the cuts and the colors (highlights and BLUE) on both thick and thin hair and its always right. read more

This is the third time I have had my hair done at your salon. This first time I didn't really like it but I take the blame on that because I tried something different and just didn't like what I picked. Second time I liked my hair a lot. Third time I loved it. The reason this is not a 5 star review is because two out of three times I picked a time slot that was available and I was messaged saying that the stylist would not be in at that time. No biggie I rescheduled both times. The other part that I am very upset about is that the first two times I picked online what I wanted done and the price was given to me and it was that price when I paid. TODAY I was quoted a price online ($120)when I booked my appointment and the price I was told as I paid today was $45 higher than what I was quoted online!!! I would not have mentioned a small increase because I really do love my hair this visit BUT when the price is $45 higher than I was told it was going to be when I booked the appointment I believe I should have been told that and I also should have been told why the price was so much higher. Like I said the price has never been different than the prices I was quoted before and had it only been a couple of dollars I probably would not have left this review but I want other customers to be aware that this could happen to them. On the way to the appointment I actually stopped and withdrew $160 from my bank. I figured $120, which is what I was told online, and a $40 tip would have been nice. I dropped the tip because of the price increase and to be honest I wish I would've dropped the tip more because of the lack of explanation for such a price increase. The part that upsets me is that ALL three times I have had the same thing done (cut and color). Does the price vary based on the stylist because I have had a different stylist all 3 times!!! I've been going to Brittany McGraw (hair stylist) for several years. Because I was going to school 3 hours north of Charleston, I only got to see her a couple times a year. But she, without fail, has done a fantastic job each time both with the cut and color. I'm very particular about my hair. It's cut fairly short (chin-length) with a lot of layers and stacking in the back, which requires the stylist to get the angles and the layers exactly right. I also color with dark brown and lowlight with reds. The red is tricky because, over time, the red lowlights can start to turn a little brassy due to my natural blond hair color. Brittany understands this complexity and balances the colors in the dye AND the lowlights to make sure this doesn't happen. I haven't been to any other stylists in this salon, but I highly recommend Brittany McGraw! read more

Very Clean, Very fast service. I was referred by my co-worker at the hospital and everyone I know goes there.

As a walk-in I did expect a small wait, not one hour for a color and cut when they have 18 stylists. Granted not all 18 work everyday but there were still 10-12 stylists on the floor in the middle of the early afternoon in the middle of the week. I told the lady I wanted something fresher than what I have. My color was dull and boring and my cut was matronly. She told me she was going to do all color to touch up the roots. Then she puts foils in my hair as her attempt to lighten my hair. She barely talked to me and I'm not from the area so I figured as a stranger she would have put some effort toward making me feel like a regular. She didn't listen to what I really wanted because when it was finished, I couldn't tell that my hair had been colored or cut. She tried to tell me that my regular hairdresser wasn't doing a good job but it had been at least 2 months since I've had my hair colored and cut. I didn't appreciate that. Then when I get to the counter to pay she says without hesitation, "That will be $131." My jaw dropped! I reluctantly paid that and tipped her because it's rude not to tip a hairdresser, but she didn't do the job well or deserve it. My other regular place charges less than $60. I do not recommend this place at all. Maybe I was there on a bad day, but I will never go back there to get anything done to my hair if I'm in town for business and need some time to kill. No one has noticed I had something done to my hair. Waste of time and money. I wish I knew she was going to charge me for both the color and the foils where most places just charge you the highest of the two processes. Maybe she took advantage of an out-of-towner which is sickening, but really I don't know how they are in business if they are charging that much for color and foil highlights. I'm glad the hair cut and blow-dry were free, or I would have been paying close to $200 for something that doesn't look any different than when I walked in. read more
