I have been immensely happy with Leopold's and would recommend it to anyone. All the staff are kind, and I feel particularly fortunate to work with my stylist, Pacha, who rules. My haircut looks like I was a test subject for a barber school. When I was in the "salon" it looked like it was a descent job. But when I got home and looked in the mirror one side of my head was cut completely different than the other. it was like I had two different haircuts. Uneven and longer with small tufts of hair sticking out all over. even in the back one side was longer than the other and then remembered she didn't even give me a mirror to see the back. to make it even worse she created this ridiculous dumb parting line down the middle of my head that looks like a stupid 80s rickspringfield hair cut. ugh, literally this is the worst haircut I've ever had. I can cut my hair myself and do a better cut. I just wanted a typical haircut. short with no complicated fades or anything difficult. the one star is for whoever cut my hair. I won't mention the name. If you go here make sure you know somebody that they had and are recommended. I'm sure I could go back and have them fix it but then it would be uncomfortable. I am so mad. Now I have to go to a place that can fix it and waste my day off.

So far, my experiences at the Barber Shop have been pretty hit or miss. I had a handful of…read morehaircuts which I wouldn't repeat, and then found a stylist I thought I could trust. I booked specifically with her the next time, and due to some circumstances out of her control she wasn't able to be in that day. There was some miscommunication with the shop and through the app, but one of the other stylists was actually able to work me in and the haircut turned out great. The TVs at the individual stations are a nice touch and I appreciate the hot towel and hair wash so I don't walk out itchy. Overall, a 3 star but trending up now that I've found two stylists I think I can trust.

I booked with Al (Albert), who was incredibly sweet and did an amazing job! I usually just get a trim, but decided to go shorter because I had left over blonde that I wanted out. He made sure I was okay with going as short as it was and even gave me some layers to help add some bounce to my normally flat hair. I usually come out hating my hair when I cut it short, but I absolutely loved it! He even washed and styled my hair with some curls all for an amazing price. The salon itself was absolutely lovely and welcoming. They were busy, but it was comfy inside. The receptionist was welcoming and engaging, I felt like I'd been there before. So then I met Margaret, who has incredible skills for all of us who think there's no saving our hair. I scheduled an appointment with Denise as she's listed as a Master Stylist. She also has curly hair…read morelike mine, so I figured she would be able to do a good job. When I got there she seemed okay, just a bit distracted. She began with washing my hair, where she gave the Lightest "scalp massage" and I'm not certain that she put any conditioner in. Then when I got into her chair she put it all the way to the ground, so that I could only see from my eyes up in the mirror while she cut my hair. To the point that she was literally on her Knees to do her job. She barely asked what I wanted, then didn't even follow that. I asked for layers to round the shape of my hair out, for it to sit about shoulder length, and my bangs to be cut at cheekbone length. Instead hair was past my shoulders in the front and long and Mullety in the back as if she didn't cut that at all. My "bangs* were down to my mouth and there were Zero discernable layers to be found anywhere. When she asked if I wanted her to do anything else I asked for it to be cut shorter, she trimmed the front 2 pieces a tiny bit and that's it so I decided not to ask for anything else, as she already wasn't doing what I asked. Not once during the total of Thirty minutes that she spent on my hair did she check if the length was ok, what I was thinking about it or anything. She spent most of the time making my hair frizzy AF then fluffing it around than she did taking time to cut my hair. She also did not offer me a mirror at Any point to see the back. I feel like she was distracted the entire time, did not actually want to cut my hair for some reason, and left me looking ridiculous. I walked out of the store with a fluffy, frizzy, mullet and paid almost $100 for it. I absolutely will Not be back and Highly discourage Anyone from going to see Denise. I ended up going to my friend's house afterwards, waking her up, and together we did a Significantly better job than Denise.

For this reason, I typically do go to no appointment needed salons to fit my busy life. The haircut I received at the coat cutters on main was hands down the WORST haircut I've ever paid for. The person cutting my hair mentioned that he rotates salons for the chain, so maybe that's why he didn't care? I had so many chunks of uncut hair, the layers were so horribly done. I am now playing a waiting game for my hair to grow to a decent enough length for me to get it fixed. My review is not against the other stylists that have their careers here but the stylist i encountered and upper management itself for employing such sloppy, unprofessional and honestly bad stylists that continue to give their brand a bad wrap.
