The rudest staff member/business owner I have ever spoken with in my entire life. They rudely hung up on me twice for no reason when I politely tried to make an appointment. I just popped in on Sandy without an appointment. She was finishing with the client she had in the chair. Her 4:00 was late and didn't show. She asked me what I wanted. I told her, and she swiftly went to work. She gave me exactly the haircut I wanted. I think Sandy is a great haircutter and I will not hesitate to book her in the future. Been here a few times. Like the others say, she's super sweet and good at what she does. She'll talk if you want to talk, she'll just do her thing if you don't really engage. She's got the news on right by the chair so you have something to stare at if you like. Reasonably priced, especially for the job she does. She also used a little vacuum when she's done to suck up the extra hairs on my head, got more of the loose hairs off and it felt really cool so that was a plus. This is my go-to barbershop. Sandy is personable, a good listener, and always gives me a good cut. The prices are really reasonable for Madison and there was only one occasion where I couldn't get in the same day that I called. She is detail oriented and has no trouble giving you the same cut to your preference that you got the last time you went. Like others have said, she's not the most talkative but will have a conversation if you engage with her. I love the little vacuum! The first time it sketched me out but I've come to love it and think that it's an excellent part of the experience. Overall, I would recommend this barbershop to anybody in need of a cut. As a trans person I've struggled to find a barber who makes me feel comfortable - and Sandy does just that. read more

I can't say enough great things about this barber shop. After terrible haircuts at The Barbershop on Junction Road, and overpriced haircuts at one of Madison's upper-tier salon, I decided to give Sandy's a try. During her consultation, she actually listened to what I wanted. She didn't nod her head and then cut it like a beauty-school assembly line like a lot of other stylists. To make things even better, she is nice. The shop is cozy and I've only ever been in there with one other customer waiting. This is personalized service from a professional who knows what she is doing. Plus, the price of $17 is not much more than The Barbershop or other chains. Although I gather she has been in this locaton quite a long time, I just noticed the place while passing by a few months back and started going here for my haircuts. It's been an all around great experience. Sandy is both personal and very competent. I have been really happy with the result on every visit. Although she seems to pretty much have clients coming through all the time I've never had problem getting in her chair as a walk-in with minimal wait time. As others have mentioned, her prices are very reasonable which is great because it leave plenty of room for a nice size tip, which you're gonna want to do 'cause she's a great barber! read more

Being new in town, I looked at reviews to find a haircut. I had unfortunately been quite busy so was overdue for a haircut. I have always gone to a barber as I like to support small businesses and like having the same person cut my hair. I have a fairly standard trimmer cut with minimal scissor cutting needed on top - I gave details as recommended by my prior barber - the clipper size, inches, and even showed a pic after my last cut. She primarily cuts with a trimmer and cut my hair extremely short and my side burns were both cut short and one 1cm higher than the other when asked to keep it down to the level of my ear lobe. When disappointed with the result, she took no responsibility and told me that I should have just asked for a trim and I don't need to tell her anything. She did not ask any questions through the haircut whatsoever. I am very disappointed with the haircut - likely the worst experience I have had. I am glad the other reviewers like their cut but I would be careful she understands what you want if you are particular at all. read more

I've been going here for my last few haircuts, and it has been a phenomenal experience each time. She is very attentive to my severe cowlicks, and makes adjustments so my hair stays looking good. Then she takes a vacuum brush to clean up loose hairs and puts talc on so they don't fall onto your clothes and you stay fresh. If you don't have cash on hand, she'll tell you "Come in tomorrow, I'll be here." Great customer service, low prices, and incredible haircuts. What more can you ask from a barber? I would absolutely recommend Sandy to anybody who likes staying neat and clean! read more
