I have gone to Katelyn Smith a few times. She's so sweet but she really can't do more than trim hair. I'm ashamed to leave my house. I'm so ugly now that I don't even want my family to look at me. The first perm practically fell out after the first wash. She redid it but expected full pay. I said No. I did pay $20 for the product. Which should have been free. The second perm was with different rods and was so much better but after washing, the longer parts of my hair were very straight. I went in and had her just do a new style on my hair. IT'S THE WORST!! It isn't what I asked for, much shorter (sticking up short). I asked her when I showed her the picture of what I wanted if she could do that style. She said yes. But with my previous perm it would look a bit different. I can't even get my hair in a straight iron to straighten it. She once told me that if she didn't know what she was doing, she would fake it. I do not recommend Katelyn Smith for anything but a trim. read more

This is based on my first experience at this salon. I have medium length hair, and I only needed a trim to keep it healthy. The stylist was polite and ready to seat me. I called and made an appointment first. It was busy when I arrived. She offered small chat, and that was fine. I didn't see a huge difference after my trim, but that's okay. I wasn't there long, and she had me pay via Venmo. It cost about $26. A little high for the 5 minutes I spent there, but I didn't ask what the pay scale was for their shop. Overall, it was fine. went in for a stacked bob hair cut. The girls was cute who cut my hair but she needs better skills. I did not get what I wanted, I had to go get my hair fixed when I left there. I was so sad and and mortified when I walked out. I was in there for over an hour for a horrible experience and hair cut. Sorry I feel like the service has gone down horribly and no.... they are not that friendly any more. so very disappinted. read more

I went to Hairtech a few days ago and Kelsie did an amazing job cutting, coloring, and styling my hair. She was very sweet and patient with me and took the time to answer every question I had. Went to get a cut n color at Hairtech. My hair was dark brown and I asked to go golden blonde, my natural color. I came back the following day for my appointment. Sat down in the chair and the "technician" began immediately; no questions, no discussion, just working blindly. I realized that she was giving me a color weave which I had not asked for nor had we discussed. Half-way up my head I asked the woman if she was doing a weave and already being so far up there was nothing to do. She went back and prepared more bleach and came back and finished my head, I would later find out that she had changed the bleaches half-way through because the other stuff "felt weird". After nearly two hours total in the chair she wrapped my head and put me under the heat and proceeded to tell me that she would be right back, she was going across the street to get some quick lunch. I sat there for nearly 20 minutes and when she eventually came back she got back to work and started washing my hair. She put me back in front of the mirror and my hair was uniformly striped blonde in dark brown hair, with the bottom five inches completely fried. She finished me quick and hurried my awful hair and I out the door. I went home, horrified, and decided to call. They informed me the manager was out and assured me that she would call me in the morning. No one called, I called again, they then suggested that I come back in to show them what I was unhappy about. They stared me in the eye and told me 1) that was the hairstyle I had asked for, 2) my fried hair was my fault, 3) that I couldn't prove that the "technician" had left the building with me, a client, under the heat, 4) if I wanted to fight that offense, I could talk to her lawyer. After a long time of squabbling they told me that all they could offer me was a protein treatment. I didn't want them to touch my hair one more time and left completely disgruntled. Such an awful feeling. This is an awful business, completely unprofessional, and straight up trashy. Do yourself and me a favor and don't go here, ever, even if the apocalypse is coming and you wanna look good for Jesus. read more

Tara did highlights and a cut for me. She did exactly what I asked for. I was a walk-in and was seen within 15 minutes. She listened to what I wanted and asked questions just to make sure she had the right idea. I'm always anxious when going to hair stylists because many times my hair was hacked off when I specifically said not to. I appreciate her listening to what I wanted and doing just that. I reccommend everyone i know to hairtech, and always to Ashley although everyone in there does a great job, everyone is very friendly, and hospitalble. When you walk in they make sure that you are helped right away. Also there prices are very reasonable. read more
