My boyfriend and I are visiting Idaho and apparently because we are out of the state we decided to live a little and get tattoos...or something...I don't fucking know. His came out fine, the guy was nice, totally underpriced the tattoo and didn't seem too stoked on it, it took him longer than it should have. (When I say it came out fine, I mean as good as it could have using the same needle to fill the words and do the line work. The lines are noticeably shaky and there are some spots he didn't fill.) Then, he came to do mine, a CA poppy, and I could tell he just wanted to hurry up and leave because the other one took so long. He actually kept mentioning that the first tattoo was taking long and he was leaving as soon has he finished mine. The stencil didn't look like the picture I gave him but I wasn't getting the vibe that he wanted to really change anything. I asked him to change the leaf that he had on the stencil and he free handed the leaves (they look nothing like poppy leaves) and ended up not even following the picture I gave him. (It happened faster than I knew what was happening). I expected him to kind of give me more of a walk through of how he was going to change it. Then I asked him to make the flower larger and instead of asking how big or changing the stencil he just freehanded that too resulting in a less detailed flower shape. He basically made it less detailed and when I asked for more detail he got standoffish, totally didn't want to work with me, and basically eluded that he would probably fuck it up, which gave me a lot of anxiety. I got super flustered and wanted to get the fuck out of there and I DEFINITELY overpaid for my tattoo. read more
