I was mainly interested in deli meat or cheese but there was not a lot to choose from. I did buy a pound of deli ham. It tasted about average & the price was lower than the grocery stores but higher than the Mennonite markets. To be honest, I felt I was treated like an outsider since I'm not a local. Would I return? Probably not.

Need a special cut... Tom will do it. Need fresh oysters... Tom will do it. Just want to say hi to a friendly face.... Tom will do it. You don't get service like this just anywhere. The downfall? Prices. It's well worth the short drive to Wal-Mart or Meijers to get better prices on every item. McMaken's probably has to pay more than these huge chains so the difference is understandable but in the current recession it's regrettable.
