The gentleman behind the counter was excited and knowledgeable, and offered a spicy chicken shawarma sample. If you are sick of crappy service elsewhere, dine here! Food: the fresh herbs and pickled veggies really make a difference! And the crispy but not overdone falafel? Excellent. Probably the best falafel since I moved out of metro Detroit. I found the shawarma sample to be on the dry side. Ambiance: I will admit I almost didn't go inside, based on the exterior. All the graphics and posters remind me of restaurants on the Detroit border, where they are trying to entice people in, in dubious areas. I get they want people to see the food, but it'd be nice to see more of the interior, which reminds me more of a deli. I sat outside, which is ideal, but there was something about their fence that was giving cemetery. All in all, Hummus Mediterranean Food is a very good place for a quick & healthy lunch!

We also tried the eggplant salad and the Jerusalem salad (which had a nice spicy kick), and my wife loved both. We even ended up ordering some of the items we sampled because they were that good.
