This little mom and pop butcher shop and deli has major small town corner store vibes. It is located in the middle of a neighborhood, which threw us off initially, thinking we had taken a wrong turn somewhere when all of a sudden we stumbled upon it. They have a $9.99 lunch special where you can build your own wrap or sandwich, and it comes with choice of one side and chips. The wrap was fairly average, nothing spectacular but not bad either. The spicy mac and cheese was pretty good, but the sauce was a bit runny for my liking. We enjoyed looking through the various items for sale while we waited for our food to be ready. But overall, I don't think I would go out of my way to come back and try it again. read more

Fresh condiments, variety of delicious meats. They will make you a lunch special with a side and a bag if chips. I had the stuffed potato salad with a roast beef wrap. You don't have to look for the meat or order extra. They know how to make a wrap. Highly recommend you go a block off of the main drag and find this charming little business. read more

I'm giving 5 stars for the farm fresh eggs, excellent bacon, and superior ground beef. The fresh eggs have the best texture and pretty yellow yolks. They're almost too pretty to eat. We like to take the Keener bacon and brush it with some brown sugar dry rub and cook it low and slow in the oven and put that and one of those farm fresh eggs on a burger. OMG. The downside is their actual food items. I wasn't a huge fan of the sandwiches, but the meat and eggs are incredible. read more

I've been here twice now, the sandwich was really good. Very fresh, and nice staff. Okay on to the bad, it is very empty. Very little options, prices are kinda high. My sandwich had amazing meat, amazing produce, but then they put it on store bought sliced white bread, a big flaw for a a deli sandwich. I think they have room to grow, and I look forward to seeing it happen. Side note I grew up going to the butcher block when it had the old owners. This is not the same place at all. Wow how lucky we are to have this shop in Dayton. A friend of mine had an event catered by the Keener Farm. The food was so good I asked if I could visit the farm. I was told that I was welcome to but that they also owned a butcher shop in town and to be sure to visit there. I am so glad I did! I bought a variety of beef and pork. EVERYTHING was of the highest possible quality!! The ground beef was so lean the burgers we made with it didn't shrink or drip while grilling. The maple links are incredible. Best pork chops I've ever had. I am not going to buy meat anyplace else from now on. I have never unwrapped meat from the store that didn't smell like anything. Amazing quality. I learned that all of the products in the shop are organically produced, non GMO, no hormones, free range and lovingly cared for. These people are offering something truly outstanding and I am grateful to have this resource in Dayton. I can't wait to tour their farm September 17. I am devoted to only eating grass fed/humanely raised meat and this is the place to get it. Sure they don't always have what you want but that is because they use only sources they explicitly trust. I believe almost all of the beef comes from their farm. More expensive-yes but I will pay the extra for this quality and superior flavor. They grind all of the beef for their ground beef and it is fresh. I also support the restaurants that use their meats, like The Trolley Stop and Lucky's. I only found them this year and with the store in Kettering it is very convenient. I have had "grass-fed" meat from other sources and Keener Farm is THE BEST TO DATE. Other sources contain way too much fat and inedible cartilage. This farm cares about what they sell and building a strong local presence. Just a note: You can order ahead if you know you need something specific on a certain date. They also have a CSA which is a fantastic way to save a little money and assure you are getting the best and healthiest food for your family. read more
