This is just such a beautiful farm! They have all kinds of fresh produce, beautiful plants that are high-quality, lovely accents for your garden, and yard, and a great gift shop. I've noticed that they are doing even more community events. If you talk to any of the staff there, they are also knowledgeable about helping with garden/planting questions, which I always appreciate! Love this place!! Perfect for small children, there are pigs, goats, ponies, puppies etc to look at and some to pet. It's a beautiful setting for some fall fun - gourds, pumpkins, tractors, and all manner of farm life. The apple cider donuts are a must - light and fresh tasting. We also bought some amazing looking produce to support the farm. No farms, no food! They follow strict Covid guidelines so we felt safe bringing the family. read more

My mom loves farm markets and so do I. It was her idea for me to find one so I did as we drove around while on vacation. This place was adorable. Our son fell asleep in my husband's arms so we didn't really get to check the entire place out but it was great the stuff we did see. I cannot wait to try my chocolate milk from here. read more

I'm visiting Danbury for the second time and I've been itching for a "farm stand" since being out here. I stumbled across this one and it's probably the most fancy farm stand I've been too. Less of a farm stand and more of a working farm. I think a lot of people do their grocery shopping here as they had produce that's obviously not made there (pineapples, avocados). I asked the sales associate what products were locally made and she pointed them out. It's somewhat obvious because they split the sections, but somethings I just went for it because I needed it anyways. They have meats, cheeses, and dairy from (I assume localish farms). They did have clams and she said that they were wild caught from an hour away. I'm most excited about the clams, Connecticut strawberries (not sure if they were picked on the farm), and caprese ingredients (locally picked basil and tomatoes along with the fresh mozzarella). My checkout was pretty pricey, but groceries have been pricey these days and I'm excited for all the very fresh ingredients. They had a homegoods and garden section. The homegoods was cutesy, like what you would find in a shabby chic cottage type home. It didn't look like local artisan crafts. read more

My fiancé and I loved this place. All of the produce looked so fresh and delicious. We were visiting from out of town, so we couldn't buy much, but we tried some nectarines - and they were delicious! Besides produce and fresh baked goods, they also sell other cute gifts and home decorations, things for the kitchen, etc. We highly recommend this place! If we lived closer we probably would visit all the time. read more

Not at all welcoming for families. We have been here many times around the holidays for our Christmas tree. But after today A never again. We were there to buy shrubs and they have three huge German Shepards were wondering around without a leash that came right up to us aggressively. We have small children. The owners were EXTREMELY rude. They do not care about their customers. I should add that the place is disorganized and the products look shabby too. We went down the street to Don's where everything was organized and in great shape. Will never return and will tell everyone we know about this terrible experience read more

I absolutely love the Hala summer farm share! This is my first year and I will be back next year!. As you can see from the photos these are beautiful boxes of fresh vegetables with so much color, taste and flavor. Each week I get a lovely newsletter reminding me to pick up and includes descriptions of veggies and recipes! I can tell they put a lot of care into creating the newsletter,picking my vegetables and creating a garden box that looks like a masterpiece! I really appreciate the diversity of products, I ate beets and brussel sprouts, something I would not normally eat! Thanks to all for making the boxes and even adding some of the 'other fatm trades" like blueberries , soaps and apple cider! Yum! read more

We have visited Halas Farm several times over the years but the last 3 years have been particularly disappointing. We love visiting the chicken coops and the farm market. It's quintessential New England in the country and they do have an extensive selection of fresh apples, pumpkins, gourds and farm inspired gifts. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. So... why are we only giving it 3 stars? PRICE: Today I wanted a mason jar filled with farm made tomato sauce. The ingredients looked tasty, but $7.99 for one jar of sauce is outrageous. A head of cabbage costs $3. and the prices on the jams, jellies and especially the honey are downright ridiculous! The price gouging on kitchen and home decor accessories is a huge turn off. AVAILABILITY: We drove an hour to get there only to discover there were no fresh eggs and no farm baked goods. Canning goods are prohibitively priced. INFORMATION: When we asked why there were no eggs, we were told "it's probably the time of year". Well, hold on. We visit Halas Farm the first week of November for YEARS and always purchased fresh eggs during this time. When we asked about the baked goods, we were told they only put them out on the weekends. So... there were baked goods in back, but they could not be put out for sale for us? We wanted to buy them, and isn't that why you're in business, to make a sale? We used to love this place, loved the way it looks & feels, but what's the purpose of going if you're just going to visit the chickens and take a nostalgic stroll through the store? We wanted to BUY eggs, baked good, vegetables and canning goods, but not if we're going to shell out a king's ransom for it. Sadly, but we probably won't be back during our next visit to the area. We will find a farm with better prices and availability. Halas used to be worth the hour long drive, but not any more. :( read more

Impeccable service at Halas Farm Market! I visit every time I'm in CT seeing MIL. They always have fresh local produce and pastries as well as farm fresh eggs and meats, which means a lot coming from me, a CA girl. Called today to see if they could get me out of a pinch. Been out of town and called every florist in the area yesterday for flowers. Not one of the local shops could help with a flower delivery within a 24 hour timeframe. I know it's Mother's Day however I order regularly from one in the village. In a heartbeat Halas Farms was able to locate and deliver beautiful flowers to mom for Mother's Day. I am so grateful. What a great local business! I can't say enough good things about them. I've purchased my toddler plants from Halas the past few years, and they are markedly better in quality than big box stores. They have great prices, very reasonable for a nursery. They have a country store, chickens roaming the premises and sell clams at $5/dozen in the summer. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Definitely will return for years to come! read more

I just started visiting Halas' market recently. I enjoy purchasing the fresh vegetables, as well as some other CT grown produce. I also purchase the milk that they sell from Arethusa Farm which I have enjoyed for the rich taste and freshness. I was able to get fresh eggs on two occasions, which was a treat. Sure, prices are a little high, but I don't mind paying for the freshness, and supporting local farmers/business people. read more

Halas Farm Market may be great for many things, but definitely not for firewood. Paid nearly $300 for a delivered cord 6 weeks ago. I was told it would be seasoned and dry, instead its absolute cr@p. The wood is rotted and soaked, even after 6 weeks of drying it out stacked under a covered porch. Waste of $300. read more

I've been to Halas Farm Market a few times over the years. They sell fruits, and vegetables they grow themselves. They also have pies that they make, local honey, fresh eggs, plants, flowers, mulch, and BBQ sauces. I don't go much because I find their prices a bit high. Most recently, I went to get corn for the 4th of July. I wanted fresh corn that was better quality than say a Stop and Shop. They had corn but for some reason they did not allow the customer to peel back the husks to see the corn. The sign stated that the corn is very good and there is no need. If the corn is good then don't worry about it. Do you think I am going to pull the husk back, see that the corn is good and not buy it? I don't get it. Anyway, the corn ended up being delicious as Halas promised. The fruit and produce looked great but there were no fresh eggs for sale which was disappointing since they advertise fresh eggs. The pies are kept in a glass display and looked good but there were fruit flies flying around in it which wasn't really appetizing. So, I have mixed feelings about Halas and it seems to be hit or miss but worthy of 3 stars. read more

Our family loves Halas Farm Market! I take my toddlers there to see the animals and they like to fill up the wagon with produce for the week. I get my matured herbs and veggies from them for my garden and they have been great quality. Their corn and clams in the summer are affordable and delicious. I wish they had eggs in larger quantities more regularly (they usually have to go get them from the coup while you wait). The prices are not bad and I like that they have unique decorative items from local artists now. Definitely worth a trip! read more

Late post. One star because cannot give any lower. Over priced. Baked items purchased then re sold. Flies all over display. Food kept out in open and no sneeze guard. As a food critic I am sure health dept would have an issue with this. Did not see anyone Certified in Food Safety. No certifications hanging on the wall. Restaurants that handle food still need this. Why not Halas Farm. You want baked goods go to Mothership bakery or Ele-fant bakery, not HALAS farm market. First visited Halas Farm Market on Mothers Day 2017 and was not even busy. Over heard owner Mike Halas talking to a customer. Customer asked about some flowers and Mike Halas first response was he can do better on price. She did not even ask about the price even though they were WAY over priced. Not only does Mike Halas have over priced products but he is a horrible business man as he did not even realize what customer wanted. He sounded pathetic. Items for sale in barn are ridiculous. $200 for a bag? Decided to go to Doms Market read more
