    Delicious nectarines
    Rachel R.

My fiancé and I loved this place. All of the produce looked so fresh and delicious. We were visiting from out of town, so we couldn't buy much, but we tried some nectarines - and they were delicious! Besides produce and fresh baked goods, they also sell other cute gifts and home decorations, things for the kitchen, etc. We highly recommend this place! If we lived closer we probably would visit all the time.

My farm share including four types of lettuce, squash, onions, peppers, parsley and much much more!

Shakespeare once penned "to thine own self be true." i would pen this as "keep thine own manure to thyself." have been going here for years BECAUSE ITS UNUSUAL.BECAUSE ITS HIGH END. yet nature called this time. when i asked about a restroom they pointed me to the back where the porta potties are. the first one i opened was simply a predessor of what was to come. the other two left me w an impossible choice. i was trying not to dry heave entering the chosen one which was a slim comparison of the lesser of the other 2 evils. by the time i got to the front entrance where the car was parked i was bent over the car holding onto dear life with persistant vomiting onto the gravel. i felt so pretty. my friends would not go to lunch as planned as their description of my dryheaving in the car & my green face did not lend itself to eating. to not describe these portolets is not spareing you dear reader, but myself from the visuals that would prompt unyielding dryheaving every. single. time. that i think about this.my problem with this: i have a pretty strong stomach. my dad in the medical field would come home for dinner & while we were eating could easily talk about such subjects as pus. im no stranger when it comes to intestinal fortitude. these portolets were otherwordly disgusting, which to me were a complete insult to their customers who are spending small fortunes. i have never left there spending less than $300.00. and I'm on a pretty tight budget but I plan & save to come here. and most of their customers did not fall off the turnip truck or are backwoods farmers looking for something "purdy." show some respect to your customers. you want me to spend $250. 00 on some little garden ornament then clean up your act. make sure you use a real bathroom before coming here. It's Labor Day 2024 and I had been seeing on social media at Shortt's Ice cream at Shortt's Farm…read more Im not sure how long they have been offering ice cream. Previous reviews are very old so I assume this is a new thing. There were two young people working and I don't think management expected the crowd. The young man kept taking orders but not helping to fill any. Then Im not quite sure he showed his co worker our order for two sundaes. I asked him about it after six orders for milkshakes taken after our orders were completed. He told me they are working on it. Finally, I had to stop the girl handing out milkshakes Then the young guy couldn't tell him where he wrote our order. So to save some time we gave our orders again. Shortt's has amazingly good ice cream. They just need management to get with their team and get a better system for larger groups. I noticed an important miss they were not taking names. After we had our sundaes I would hear them yell out chocolate milk shake or oreo milkshake and a few people saying thats me. Im sure Shortt's will have lots of continued customers once they get a better system for crowds in place. The ice cream is worth it.

Been going to Ferris Mulch for many years to drop off leaves and weeds in my pickup. I'm not in…read moreDanbury so I pay to bring the leaves here. I'm very diligent in making sure I don't mix twigs or branches in the leaf piles and that there is no plastic or garbage mixed in. I have the same workers year after year loading the truck that know to keep free from debris. Well last week I had to unload myself, which I never do as I'm 66 years old, however my workers were unavailable and I needed the truck emptied. While unloading the weeds, mixed with dirt, a Ferris Mulch worker, in his mid forties, came over as I was unloading and found a very small piece of fabric. I said I'm sorry I will sift through and make sure no fabric gets by. Instead of acknowledging my apology he rudely said that's not good enough. He stood there and watched me sift through and before I was even done said started to criticize my efforts. Mind you I'm a senior citizen, probably 20 years his senior. I get the issue, but maybe be a bit more understanding that it was an honest mistake that I was taking full responsibility for and attempting to correct being nothing but sincere and apologetic. There was no need to be rude about it, no matter who, but especially an elder. Where are the days when elders were treated with respect. I would have went to the office to make note of it, however I was to exhausted and over heated to do so at the time. There is a respectful way to address people especially when they are being respectful to you and this Ferris Mulch worker was very disrespectful. Maybe he talks to his kids that way, but he shouldn't talked to customers that way. Which maybe they are forgetting I am a customer and they make money off of what customers bring to them. Will be looking to go elsewhere.

Before I made the long journey (approximately 30 to 40 minutes) I called to ask if they had the item I was looking for. Her response was, "we don't give out pricing or inventory on the phone." my response was, you are asking me to drive 25+ miles, to learn that you (possibly) don't have the item I'm looking for?? Again, like a robot, repeated her original sentence to me. I told her I would no longer be doing business with them as it is too far for me to go to learn they don't have the products I need. She said she was OK with that!! She must have graduated from the school of 'How to lose a customer' !!

When I went I saw all masks on. Its not uncommon to see some off in all businesses unfortunately. I agree with last review I'd be very upset to see no masks or distancing. I find lots of items too expensive such as grow lights and bird feeders are okay when on sale. I like the variety in certain areas. The arty wind spinners and statues are nice but way over priced for me. There is a female manager who runs the place and Im sure its a bit stressful job but shes not the warmest person on the planet. I try not to ask her for help . My vegetable plants do not typically do that well from here. I have no idea why. Some do but many have spindly growth. Still I try to go here to spend my money locally. Id hate to see them close. We always participate in the bird seed sale.
