I went in thinking it would be a quick stop, but it turned into a full-on experience. After three hours, we still hadn't made it halfway through. My only real complaint is that I wish it stayed open longer into the day. Every vendor we met was friendly, engaging, and more than generous with samples. Prices were very reasonable, and everything--from the produce to the handmade goods--was beautifully presented. What stood out most was how clean the entire market was. Nearly every vendor went the extra mile to cover their food, protect it from insects, and wipe down surfaces as they went. It showed how much pride each of them takes in their craft. A few standout vendors deserve a special mention. 4 Sons Seafood offered incredibly fresh fish and shrimp, the kind of quality you'd expect to find near the coast. Pearson Farm had juicy Georgia peaches and crisp pecans that perfectly captured local flavor. Maple Milk Farm served up rich, creamy dairy products that tasted straight from the pasture. On the Rocks Gourmet Jams featured small-batch preserves in creative flavor combinations that were both sweet and savory. And Bobbie Ruth's Southern Style Bakery filled the air with the smell of fresh-baked bread, cookies, and pies that reminded me of a true Southern kitchen. Other vendors also added to the experience, including Pine Street Market, Cultured, Sprucewood Cashmere Farm, Diamond P Cattle Co., Taylor Made BBQ Sauce, Bee Wild Honey, Swayback Farms, Java Lords Coffee, Emily G's Jams, and The Cheese Shop at Main Street. Each one brought something special to the table--literally and figuratively. Another pleasant surprise was the number of local shops surrounding the market that were open during the event. We stopped in several and found unique gifts, clothing, and art pieces, which made the outing even more enjoyable. Between the market vendors and the local stores, the entire downtown felt alive and welcoming. We will absolutely be back again and are already looking forward to our next visit. The Alpharetta Farmers Market is a shining example of community done right--friendly people, clean surroundings, quality products, and genuine Southern hospitality at its best.

I had found this syrup down at the Buford's Farmer's Market, but that's such a drive for me, so I was cautiously optimistic stepping into this little store in Alpharetta. Lo and behold they did have the syrup I was looking for, but the brand was different. I will say the taste was a bit off from what I was used to, but the bottle was bigger and the price was right. I'd say if I had the time, I'm driving to the Buford market, but if not...this place will do me just fine. Now moving past my entire reason for entering, I did notice this place has a variety of items from vegetables and fruits to nuts to drinks to the biggest pieces of flatbread I've ever seen. Hookahs and other random findings like pots and rice cookers were showcased. I'd say it's an interesting store to check out if you are in the area.

It is not too far from Atlanta, being in Cumming, GA. There is parking there and I believe it was free but I am not 100% sure. I know we didn't pay very much to get the flowers. The parking was either free or maybe included with the price for the flowers. ***ATMOSPHERE*** There are plenty of rows. We came here for the photos and picked flowers as well. It definitely was a cute and fun summer activity! ***CONCLUSION*** Definitely on my list to go back to soon :)

Also, I would advise on being prepared to come here. First, it's really hot/humid. To beat the crowd, come super early so that you're not having to deal with waiting in the heat to take pictures at the photo ops such as in front of the tractors and such. Being my first time, I forfeited when I saw the lines and felt drops of sweat dripping down my forehead. Second, be aware of bees. Sure, field full of sunflowers is enchanting, but to my surprise, humans are not the only ones that think this way. For every flower, there seemed to have been at least one bee, possibly honey bees, but who knows. So, if you're allergic to bees, I would take note of this. Third, I would highly advise on purchasing at max, half of dozen sunflowers. The nice staff, dumfounded at first, allowed me to get a refund on the other half dozen that I did not pick out. You can either go out and cut your own or grab from the buckets that they have already cut but even these have bees on them that I only managed to gather 6, out of fear. Once you pick them out, they'll wrap the stems with wet paper towel and bouquet bag, but it doesn't last too long in the heat. Definitely bring extra bags to store the sunflowers if you plan on taking it home as the pollens are crazy and will get all over your car that you would need a car wash. Hope these help and last step is to enjoy and get awesome pics!

This event is held once yearly and is a rain or shine event. The mix of items and artisans changes - this year, we found an especially interesting woodworker who makes everything from tables to clocks from old wine casks and an artisan who turns empty wine bottles into honestly beautiful jewelry. There were several home decor stalls, an all-natural soap/lotion/bath salts/candle maker, some cool leather items for sale and one really artistic booth with vignette boxes featuring dolls. In addition to the European Market, many of the the Alpharetta merchants roll out their wares to the sidewalk and downtown becomes the place to be...stroll along the farmer's market and get fresh bread and vegetables (and a delicious scone for dessert!), then take in the European Market for gift ideas or for your own home. As with all events downtown, parking isn't a challenge - the large (and free) parking deck at City Hall is never full and with the new pedestrian crosswalk across Main Street, getting to the event is both easy and safe.

TOTALLY TOXIC DUDE!…read more This is one of the vendors that you will see at the Alpharetta Farmer's Market. Q'Bella's products include seasonings, rubs, tapenades, and cheese spreads. They had several items available for testing including their infused oils. I tasted three of the samples and they had the same thing in common: TOXIC LEVELS OF SODIUM! My gosh, this food was so salty that the first ingredient listed should absolutely be salt. That's the bad news but it gets worse. My husband the one with high blood pressure who is non-compliant with his medication, (yes, that one) actually purchased the garlic spread which is just a salt lick with garlic and herb seasoning. First of all, he actually tasted the sample and knew that it was salty, so did he assume that the salt would just evaporate by the time he got home? Not only that, but if you read the ingredient list, you will see that salt is the second item listed. (No they don't try to hide their shame). Whatever my husband paid for this spread was way too much because in its current state it is simply not usable. Now, so that it is not wasted and my husband doesn't feel too bad, (after our little row), I will have to find a way to re-purpose this spread. I have decided to break out the 5 gallon soup pot and just make soup because this is what I usually have to do when my husband needs me to "fix" his little kitchen mistakes. Uggh! He is such a Knucklehead and I really want to punch him hard. But I can't. I feel sorry for him because he got excited by the garlic taste and common sense temporarily escaped him. He now realizes that he made a mistake, so wifey to the rescue. If you or anyone in your family has a sensitivity to salt, you need to just pass this table. The items that are being sold by this vendor can be easily made at home with healthier ingredients. At the very least, this vendor should post the nutritional information, (complete with quantities), on their container so that consumers can make better informed decisions.
