Haldi Restaurant had a great, authentic Indian vibe -- cozy and welcoming. The service was quick and super attentive, which made the whole experience even better. We asked about goat curries and the server suggested the Goat Kadhai. Solid recommendation -- it was packed with flavor and honestly might be one of the best goat dishes I've had in the Banff-Jasper area. Tried the chicken biryani too. If you're expecting Hyderabadi-style, this isn't it. It had a different take -- not bad, just not what I'm used to. The chicken tasted more like kebab, which was interesting, and the spice level was just right. Portion sizes were decent -- definitely enough to fill you up. Price-wise, it was in line with most places in the Banff-Jasper area, which tends to be on the pricier side anyway. We were yearning for some Indian food and found some right here in the heart of Jasper... Haldi... fabulous. Many Indian families inside dining... always a great sign. Our server was knowledgeable and very helpful both with our menu choices and helping us navigate things to see and to in the area. The restaurant is very cute and intimate with cool decor. It's located along the Main Street and a very easy walk from our hotel. If it's Indian food you are after in Jasper... this is your spot. read more

Loved this place and it was a highlight of my trip in Jasper. It did take a while to get seated but they were super busy. Service was great, we dealt with a lot of friendly people and the food was amazing. The flavors were so good and honestly just writing this is making me wish I had some of their food with me in California. Extremely slow service and lines are LONG. We waited for about 20 minutes before we got served water and 40 minutes before any food was served. The food itself was good especially the curry chicken and chicken biryani. We came here twice on consecutive days and both times they were out of chai. I really don't understand how can you be out of chai, it just needs some basic ingredients. The manager was nice but it just doesn't make the experience any better. The other servers were extremely inefficient. Anyway, only come here if you are not too hungry and have time to kill. read more

Fine Indian cuisine indeed. We always order butter chicken and it is spectacular here - wonderful rich yogurt sauce, soft chicken. The malai kofta is great too - soft cheese balls, and I loved the sauce. The garlic naan and roti were crispy and great, though maybe it could have had a touch more garlic flavor. I personally loved the veggie biryani. Nutty, great flavour and texture. Of course this is the only Indian place here in the winter but it's awesome to have so much ethnic food in Jasper! read more

One of the best Indian food I've had in years. We ordered the Chicken Curry and Lamb Mansala, and both were very tasty. Service was as good as any could get for a fast food/quick restaurant when you're on the go. They in fact asked you a few times how did you enjoy the meal. We highly recommend this place a try. Also a plus, the credit card payment at the end did not bug you with additional tipping as many other restaurants tend to do--where you're forced to tip 15 or 18 percent minimum. We had a great experience went for dinner. Service was quick, hands down best naans I have had they were soft and flaky. Ordered kadhayi paneer and dal makhani, they were both very good. With this experience went again the next morning for breakfast and I would say wasn't that thrilled. Paranthas were decent but idli was hard and lacking taste. Omelette was good though. read more

Food was horrible and none of the food was good. We ordered tea but they ran out of sugar so it was sugar less. We asked for lemon and ginger, it was $0.99 charge. We requested green chill, it was $1.99. We requested onion, it was $2.39. This is the first time there was charge for green chilli and onion in Indian restaurant after ordering 4 different curries , 8 orders of naan, and 2 Briyanis. So I suggest you get your own green chilli from near by store if you like green chilli with your food. On a lighter note, water was free. Besides all of these nuance, garlic naan was good. Only food we like was naan as you can tell from our order list. This restaurant seems to be tourist based where customer service and food taste are not valued. Good luck for your own experience. After moments of hesitation of eating Indian food in a National park, we gave Haldi a go! It was not disappointing at all! As an Indian, you question if the Indian food will be authentic or catered to non-Indians...this place is really authentic in flavor. Although, I do wish it was a more spicier than what they claim their spice level to be. We ordered 'spicy' butter chicken masala and it was definitely mild for my taste, but the flavor was really good. Garlic naan was out of this world!!!!! And our waitress Wylee was super friendly, and quick with service! She spoke a tad bit of Hindi to us, and also filled our personal water bottles. Came here after a long day of touristing and was craving some good old Indian food. I was pleasantly surprised that the taste of the food was pretty authentic but I was realllllly disappointed with the price I was paying. The shahi papri chaat was $10 for that small plate and was nothing special. And for all my Hindi speakers, there was nothing "shahi" about it. I would recommend for the taste but if ur on a budget, def not bc there are a lot more cuisines just down the road. read more

Really great Indian food. It's just as delicious as the food that I get down in Southern California in Little Delhi. Had vegetable pakoras, butter chicken, goat curry with rice and garlic Naan. The food served here was just flat out delicious. Really authentic Indian, and every dish we tried was delicious. The service was terrific, friendly and warm and efficient. Though simple looking on the the outside and the dining room is nothing fancy, it was super clean and with food like they serve there, I'd be happy to eat it anywhere. The food was decent, although portions were small. Rice was also a $4.99 up charge. However, the one star is for the poor service we experienced. Our waitress was very short with us and unhelpful when trying to select appetizers and entrees, commenting "I don't eat the food here" with no other explanation when asked what she would select. I then asked to order my entree mildly spicy(as it states you can do on the menu) and was flatly told "no" without any other explanation despite explaining this was advertised on the menu. One member of our party wanted to order an appetizer as an entree, and was told this would come out with the other appetizers despite us asking if it could come out with the entrees. It was truly a terrible experience and I am very disappointed we chose to eat here as we have enjoyed every other meal in Jasper. read more

This place was a great find. We were pleasantly surprised to find such good Indian food in such a far away town. The chilly chicken was recommended by the serving staff which was incredibly good. No one is wearing a hair net or apron in the kitchen. The chicken is cold and frankly feels undone. The restaurant has awful music and ruins the peace. Most of the food is pre packaged and looks like it's heated up. Overall bad experience. read more
