Very intimate setting. The happy hour option is slim to say the least. We did not order any food however did get the only two drinks that were included in happy hour and the strawberry drink on tap was terrible( can't remember the name) Stick to the beer as a friendly tip, another friendly tip... just skip it all together! Plenty of better places to drink and enjoy yourself.

I have gone there many times for Breakfast lunch and dinner! This time was for breakfast! The food is always good and great value! The interior design is beautiful and very cozy! The staff is very friendly and helpful! I'm very happy with all of my experiences and I highly recommend this place!

The chef and staff were incredibly accommodating to my dietary restrictions and prepared a Jain Alfredo pasta (no onions, garlic, potatoes, or eggs) that was absolutely delicious. The combination of mushrooms, zucchini, squash, and pumpkin seeds worked beautifully together and added great flavor and texture. My wife ordered the regular vegetarian Forest & Field pasta and loved it as well. We took a togo and went to Pyramid lake to enjoy our meal with a view of the lake. Great food, thoughtful service -- highly recommend for anyone with special dietary needs!

We walked by the restaurant, checked out the menu, and decided to give it a try. It was a great decision. The staff was friendly and attentive. Each entree came with a side. We had Riccioli pasta with zucchini and Duck with charred asparagus. All looked wonderful and tasted amazing. For dessert we had affogato, my favorite dessert. It was served with salty caramel gelato. We also had zucchini cake which was delicious

Excellent dinner or place in downtown Jasper to grab a drink with friends. My friend and I were here on June 27, for dinner and it was outstanding. Recommend the bread, bone marrow, although, there is not much as per typically bone marrow, so be prepared. Taste however was, delightful. Also, if you're in a "gamey" mood, I recommend the Bison Tomahawk. We ordered it rare and it came out pretty rare, with the delicious melted butter on top. The mushrooms that accompanied it were pretty tasteless, but the bison was good. Just go in with the mind set that it's "gamey." We skipped dessert, but enjoyed lovely drinks. I got the strawberry mule and my friend got the Sub-alpine lemonade cocktail. If you're dropping in, ask for Ryan! He's a great, attentive, and very informative server! There's free street parking as of when we went, but keep an eye out because I think street parking is changing soon.

Lovely ambiance. Friendly service. Excellent cocktails! Came in for dinner and was excited by the variety of small plates on the menu. Decided to stick with the small plates since they sounded so great. Unfortunately, the menu descriptions were inconsistent with / not indicative of what was actually delivered which resulted in our Disappointment with each of the plates other than the delectable corn ribs (don't skip!!) The "candied salmon" was smoked salmon (lox) with micro greens and quail eggs. It was not particularly exciting or flavorful. The buttermilk mushrooms were deep fried, which the menu didn't indicate... The mushrooms were tasty but frying these beautiful mushrooms is not doing them any justice. The massive serving of grits they were served with were good but not very flavorful. This dish needed a sauce or something to bring it all together/the menu should indicate The STRAWBERRY RHUBARB "CRUMBLE" dessert felt like a joke. It was granola with ice cream on top and four little dots of strawberry rhubarb jam and the crumble looked like literal bird food. I hate to be a downer but they need to rewrite the menu to accurately describe their dishes.

Amazing! This is the best restaurant in Jasper, especially if you're looking for something different than pub style food. The food is delicious and the presentation is very appealing and unique. Friendly servers. The atmosphere is so cozy...sort of a modern, chic cabin feel. Love the breakfasts as well as dinners!

We came for happy hour and enjoyed the cheaper food and drinks. The apps were 20% off, but mainly vegetarian choices except for the candied salmon and bone marrow. Both of these choices were good, but the corn ribs and buttermilk mushrooms were much tastier and unique. The strawberry smash was also good, and only $7 for happy hour. The server was also very friendly and attentive. However, I didn't notice until after we left that one of the beers was charged at regular price. However, overall the a positive experience and I would return.

Very interesting interpretation of borscht. Couple pieces of beet, topped up with squash puréed soup. Lamb was nice, solid 5 - but nothing outstanding.

Great place that's new - seems they're still evolving their dishes & menu a bit. The crispy pork is delicious (fried pork cheek, sour mustard, apple, fennel) and the duck was very tender. Recommend these two mains the most. Beef tenderloin was pretty good (the accompaniments were arguably better than the beef itself which was cooked well). Also really liked the maitake mushrooms which are fried and come with buttermilk cheese grits. Thought the grits were fine (tasted like cheesy soft scrambled eggs) but the mushrooms were delicious even by themselves. Only thing I'd perhaps skip is the trout (it's fine but nothing special, definitely on the healthier/lighter side). Note that usually the trout is a whole trout and a shared plate (vs an individual main) but they were waiting on a shipment so were serving filets as individual portions; the accompaniments were the same. Overall great place, cozy, and the service is great too.

Terra is a beautiful dining spot connected to the Crimson hotel. The only thing more splendid than the decor was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was both pleasant and accommodating. There was a lady at the table next to us who must have asked for a dozen alterations to her meal and the lady waiting on her was nothing but patient and kind. My partner and I both went with French toast and were very happy with the choice. It looks like a small portion but in reality it's quite dense and filling. We will definitely be making Terra a part of every trip we take to Jasper going forward.

The burgers were good but the fries were exceptional. One person in our group also had fish and chips and that was good too. One had brunch and ordered pancakes, and those were really good that we decided to go back for breakfast the next day. For brunch the next morning, we had the Lou Lou's Omelette and some waffles. Both were exceptional and really hit the spot. Service was excellent, all the servers always had smiles on their faces and were always attentive. When we visit Jasper again, we will surely stop by Lou Lou's!

I had the three-cheese omelette with potatoes and toast. Both dishes were very tasty and cooked to perfection. The ambiance of the restaurant almost looks like a 1950's dinner, and is super cool and very welcoming. Soft jazz music was playing while we were there, which made it relaxing as well. Service was excellent and spot on, very polite and professional. A must if you are in the area of downtown Jasper and even just passing through!! I look forward to returning to try their pizza.

Maligne Distilling Pub at 604 Connaught Drive, Jasper…read more At the start of my two-day stay in Jasper, after checking into the Crimson Jasper Hotel, I headed down the main thoroughfare looking for a late lunch. Five minutes away I found just the thing: the Maligne Distilling pub at 604 Connaught Drive; it was outstanding. Maligne Distillers (pronounced as mah-leen) are, according to its website, "independent malt whisky-makers - both a distiller and blender in the sole service of creating exciting, innovative, world-class whisky. As a small-batch distiller we produce essential whiskies that are the vital essence of our expressions. Maturing for a minimum of 5 years, these highly-flavoured whiskies are the character actors on our whisky stage. We then blend those with an ensemble cast of blending whiskies - some we distill, and others from renowned Canadian distilleries." Upon my arrival, the first and main floor of the pub was gearing up for an afternoon FIFA World Cup match on the big screens. Hoping to avoid that level of excitement, Ellie at the host stand suggested the second-floor balcony, with its view of the rail station up close and the mountains in the background. The small flower-filled balcony catches the mid-afternoon sun perfectly in July, making this a memorable meal to be sure, based on location and scenic views alone. Wheelchair accessible; kids are welcome until 10 pm daily. The menu, too, was memorable for its diversity and the local scope of entrees and sides. There's pub food, to be sure, with snacks that include smoked chicken wings (brined, smoked, then tossed in citrus whisky or Thai chili glaze, served with fresh vegetables and ranch, $20CAD), pan fried perogies (potato, cheddar, onion, brown butter, bacon, sour cream, $16CAD), popcorn (dill pickle, cheddar, dill, $8CAD), and smoked pork belly bites (maple mustard glaze, green onion, $14CAD). The dinner menu was similarly impressive, with regional and local dishes that include elk Milanese (breaded elk cutlet sautéed with mushrooms, whisky, butter, Saskatoon berries, served with buttered mash potato and arugula, toasted almond salad, $46CAD), Alberta ribeye (14 oz, herb-smashed potato, grilled broccolini, maître d'butter, $65CAD), vegan beetroot Wellington (herb smashed potato, seasonal vegetables, red wine reduction, $30CAD), and bolognese alla tagliatelle (Alberta bison and beef, roasted garlic tomato ragu, parmesan, fine herbs, served with garlic toast, $32CAD). Looking for a light lunch and the chance to sample Canada's whiskies, I ordered a draft of the local The Bear beer ($9.75) and a four-shot (.75 oz. each) flight called Coast to Coast Whiskies. The flight ($44CAD) offered four small-batch crafted Canadian whiskies: Shelter Point Ripple Rock (BC, 46% alc./vol.), Ninety 20-year Highwood (Alberta 45% alc./vol.), Lot 40 Dark Oak, (Ontario 48% alc./vol.), and Glen Breton Ice 10 yr. (Nova Scotia 43% alc./vol.). Smooth as silk, and Ellie showed me how the use of distilled water and an eyedropper permit you to customize the experience. For my meal I chose the smoked chicken club (pulled smoked chicken, bacon, Swiss cheese, romaine lettuce, tomato, peppercorn aioli, toasted sourdough $24CAD). Fresh and filling, this was an excellent choice. Seating was spacious and scenic, the balcony was quiet (contrasting the enthusiastic crowd watching the FIFA match down on the first floor), and the restroom was clean. Great food, excellent whisky, and local craft beer. This, plus the view, plus the pub environment, offer much to recommend - a thoroughly great meal in the heart of Jasper.
