Delicious saganaki. So fun for a starter! And delicious.

What a fun way to start dinner with the delicious and flaming saganaki. All 4 of us ate it up, especially the crusty parts.

We randomly found this Greek restaurant while exploring the town of Jasper, which is smaller than Banff. It was nearly empty with three other customers and were seated right away. We love Greek food and was shock that they have Saganaki, baked sheep milk cheese for those not familiar with Greek food. Everything we had was excellent! We've order a bunch of appetizers to share. The dip sampler came with tzatziki, kopanisti, and humus with warm pita bread 4/5. Honey Garlic Chicken Wings 4/5. Flaming Sakanagi 5/5 with cool presentations. The Chicken and Lamb Souvlaki (kebab) marinated in herbs was delicious with fresh large portion of Greek salad, rice, pita and homemade tzatziki sauce 5/5. Service was friendly and a nice place to have lunch or dinner.

Good pizza, great dishes for sharing. Warm atmosphere and very attentive staff! Great place to come with friends and family. We got two of their pizzas to share, a salad, and a rice plate. The meal also came with pita bread and dip. Perfect for 6 people!

Good NY strip during Happy hour

We came into the town around 3pm, most restaurants were closed. This is the one we just saw and opened, so we walked in, ordered steak, shrimp and calamari Calamari is the best one I have ever had. Crispy outside and tender inside. Rib eye steak is juicy and fresh! The price is very reasonable. It definitely worths 5 start!

how about some more Canadian ham on my Hawaiian pizza?

Something else in Jasper, Alberta? It started raining on Labor Day weekend, so we ducked into the nearest restaurant, which happened to be Something Else Restaurant. Very clean, spacious, modern looking restaurant, with only a few booths filled with people. We were shown a booth, and the menu, with water served promptly. Decided to order a $20 Canadian 9" Hawaiian pizza for the two of us, along with a coke. Meanwhile the restaurant is so large that a crying baby on the opposite side of the restaurant didn't bother us. They put families with small kids far away from those groups of adults only - a good sign. Took about 15 minutes for the pizza to be ready. Four large 4" round slices of Canadian ham, on top of a pineapple laced cheese pizza. Wife and I could barely finish the pizza, it was so filling. Would have liked more ham, as half the pizza was just cheese. Something else? Good service, good ambiance, but very ordinary food. Would come back again only if we had the choice of being soaked by the rain, or stopping by the feeding trough here!.

We arrived late into Jasper from Vancouver and made the mistake to stop at the first restaurant we found open. Not sure why we didn't look at the menu first before sitting. Everything on the menu is overpriced and they're having a food identity crisis. There was steak, Italian, Greek and every other kind of food you could think of on there. We decided to just order the Jambalaya and share it since it was already late. It came out looking like pasta. My bad for not reading the menu carefully - it said penne in a cajun white wine sauce. Still not sure where the Jambalaya comes into play...but ok. Taste wise, it was worse than microwave TV dinners. 1 Star only for our server being so pleasant and the bartender recommending a decent sour. Otherwise, if you're thinking of coming to Something Else, you're better off Somewhere Else.

A little bit of steak and fish and chips!

Very bad service, as for the food, not good for the price. The environment is also not the best, as it feels extremely negative.

After 7 days from Calgary to Jasper and back I can confidently say this meal was the best meal we had the entire trip. The drinks, the apps, the entrees, and the desserts were all a hit. Our waitress described everything in such great detail and honestly sold us on trying things we may not have otherwise. We had the Alberta Antipasto skewers and loved them! For our entrees we had Truffle and Pulled Pork Tagliatelle and Bison short ribs...yum! Just when you think it couldn't get any better here came dessert. We had the Baklava Cheesecake and Pineapple Coconut Tiramisu. Now the cheesecake was an item making a return to the menu and it was delicious, however for us the pineapple coconut tiramisu was the star of the show. Those flavors shouldn't go together but when I say that was the best dessert we've had all year I mean it. Can't wait to visit again when we are back in town. I see why it's so highly recommended.

From the…read moremoment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a unique charm that set the tone for a memorable evening. A unique cocktail menu was too inviting. I'm huge fan of Negronis so when I saw "Spicy Negroni" it was must try. It was very nice and a great twist to a Negroni, I must admit I'm a purist and will go back to my traditional Negronis in the future. The Mussels were steamed in white wine, cream, shallots, mushrooms and fresh herbs and served warm pita. They were fresh and flavorful, perfectly seasoned and served in a rich broth that begged to be soaked up with pita bread. Entree selected as the Lemon Sesame Schnitzel, it was a pork loin breaded with lemon zest, sesame seeds and ground crispy rice then fried. This was served with potato salad made with new potato chunks mixed with chorizo and green onion aioli, this was atop some arugula (could have left off the arugula). Black sesame seeds were a great ingredient to the breading giving in unique flavor. The schnitzel was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, every bite was a delight! Service was attentive and friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're a local or just passing through, I highly recommend The Raven for anyone looking for top-notch food and a cozy, welcoming vibe.

They are located upstairs on the main drag of Jasper (they have an elevator on the outside to get you up there if you have mobility issues). The patio is fantastic, and if you have small kids they will probably be excited that they can see the VIA rail trains go in and out. Service was excellent. We had the sweetest server ever, even when my kiddo with special needs decided to swipe the table and break some glass. (We offered to pay for it, she declined so we gave her a big tip). Menu is good - a variety of food and hats off to the Indigenous items they included. Since it was lunch time, we just decided on a main meal and no appetizers (we were hiking after this), but I really would like to come back here for the appies. We decided on the Wild Game Burger -Alberta Elk & Bison patty with caramelized onions, forest mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, pickles with old fashioned mayo-mustard sauce, served with Canadian kennebec home-cut fries while kiddo decided on the kids mac and cheese. Food came out in a timely manner. We really enjoyed how juicy our wild game burger was and I really loved the mushrooms and onions on it. Our daughter gobbled up her meal. I would definitely recommend this. Prices are high, but so is everything else in Jasper. If you want cheaper do a chain restaurant. If you want a great and authentic experience try this out.

The people: a mother and her son, tired from the day's (short) hike in the snow. The atmosphere at the street: hushed voices, some bit of hustle and bustle as strangers rush to fill some void. Hunger. There were more steps from the sidewalk up to the restaurant, a seeming offense to legs tired from pushing against the snow earlier in the day. The local game and seafood, both in varying forms, were the tempters. We got our table, and we sat down. Drinks first - CRFT Blonde Ale was a winner - and a lovely herbed bread and butter started us off. Menu choice this night focused on the game dishes. Some calamari to start too, though our hunger made a short life of that starter at our table. And then we got our mains. Well-prepared, unpretentious, flavorful, and - for us - just the right proportions. My bison medallions - ordered rare - were prepared just perfectly, with (as I told my son) the only instance of spaghetti squash that I think I have ever liked (alongside other well-prepared veggies as well). His mixed game burger didn't stand a chance. He even ate the mushrooms, a sure HT. Our experience here was so wonderful, centered, warm - It helped that our server was equally so, and you can see how much she connects with the customers as one would with guests in a home. We liked our meal so much we came back again the next night for more. And the second night did not lose any luster off the first. Next time we are in the area, we are probably going to go nowhere but here. While our travels took us far, we felt right at home here.
