Pam at Hale Pet Doors helped me so much. I ordered a horizontal inserting glass window with a pet door at the bottom so our cat could get out to our deck. Of course, I ordered the wrong size width for it to fit inside of our window frame. I was .25 inches off! I emailed Pam and they happily made me new parts for the top and bottom so they would fit into my window. She asked me whether I was confident drilling my own holes into the parts so I could install them and I told her I was. Had ordered a tall large plus doggy door for the wall, after installation, my dog just goes through and the flap rips off of the screws since their is not nearly enough spacing between the screws within the aluminum and the doggy door flap itself, have followed the instructions and were very self explanatory, due to the poor design it is not meant for bigger dogs from the sizing chart that was given in the pictures. Very unhappy about how poorly designed this is, even ordered another flap to give it another chance yet the same exact thing happened, door is not meant nearly for medium and larger plus sized dogs. read more

I got one of the through the wall style doors from HALE about 4 years ago and it was great. I absolutely love it and my dogs couldn't be happier. Best of all, the dual flaps keep the temperature in my house the same as it was before the pet door was put in. I bought form them specifically because they donate to pet rescue places and i got all my pets from ARF (Animal Rescue Foundation). They donated a portion of the proceeds of the dog door to ARF. I originally purchased my Hale dog door almost 25 years ago. They have been one of the most honorable companies I have done business with. They not only make a high quality product, they truly stand by it. Their customer service is top notch, and always been as nice as can be. I have yet to find another dog door product that offers anything close to the 5 year warranty that Hale does. And I have been especially grateful that when a flap has not lasted as long as it should have, they have honored their warranty with zero hassle. I have referred them to many friends & neighbors over the years, who have all been thrilled with the quality. In my experience, the Hale dog door is well worth the investment. I have worked in a big box home improvement store where dog doors can be purchased for much less, but as I learned from my customers, those units needed replacement in a matter of years. When my Hale door was first installed, I loved that if I moved, I could literally bring my door with me to my new abode if I chose to (my inner drywall & exterior stucco wall sections removed remain safely stored in my garage). If you are looking for a well designed quality product that will last, I can't speak more highly of both Hale's doors and the folks at this company! :) read more

This company is Great! Have one of their dog doors that is almost 20 years old. The flaps finally wore out a few years ago (lasted 15+ years with two 100 pound labs pounding in and out) so I ordered replacements. One of them had a little problem - called Hale and they immediately honored their 5 year warrantee and shipped new ones out No Questions Asked. That is great customer service! be very careful about buying hale pet doors if you have had new sliding glass doors installed in your home. hale's panels are very outdated, the same model as the ones i bought back in 2007. they do not fit the newer manufactured sliding door tracks. i have lost over $1,000 in cost not to mention labor with a pet door contractor who could not install hale pet door panel in my home! because my door was custom made to size, i'm only offered $50 of the cost toward another hale pet door. why would i want another hale pet door when the first one cannot be installed in the newer sliding door tracks? terrible customer service, be careful. read more

I will never do business again with a company that does not value it's repeat customers. I have used Hale pet doors is several houses over the years and used many replacement flaps. My house was sold in a matter of days & we had to put our stuff in storage for months. When we finally found a house to buy, it took quite a long time to go through all of the boxes from our old house. I found an UNOPENED box of replacement door flaps from the old house. These will not fit the opening in our new house. I thought for sure that Hale would take these parts back, but they stuck to their strict 90 day return policy. What a shame to have employees that could care less about their customers. read more

Hale Pet Door Company is as good as it gets. I moved in to a home that had a 15 year old in wall pet door, made by Hale. The flaps were starting to look a little dingy so I thought I'd look into replacing them. I called Hale, was greeted and helped by a very nice young lady who made sure I was getting the correct sizes for my door type. I wanted to pick them up locally so she offered to call the local store when they opened, then called me back to let me know they'd be waiting for me. The replacement parts were a perfect fit, premier construction and the direction were clear and easy to understand. I highly recommend Hale Pet Door and their products. read more

This company was very unprofessional, did not respond, charged me for an item I had not received, then sent the wrong item once I had filed a dispute with my credit card company. And their return policy does not allow ramps to be returned at all because they consider them to be custom orders even though they aren't. I ordered a perpendicular ramp from one of their dealers on March 3rd. March 5th I had a new air conditioner installed that blocked the doggie door so I contacted the dealer on March 8th to see if it could be changed to go along the wall since this was an option and not a special order. The dealer said Hale Pet Door would like a picture as proof. I sent the picture immediately which was March 9th. I never heard another word. When I received my credit card statement they had charged me the day I placed the order, March 3rd, so naturally I disputed it. Hale came back with the return policy that it couldn't be returned which was a mute point because I had never heard anything from them and definitely had not received the ramp. I talked to my credit card company again and they said to start another dispute which I assume was relayed to Hale. All of a sudden, again without any communication concerning my request or shipping information, the ramp showed up on APRIL 17th. Of course, it's the perpendicular one that is useless for my doggie door and can't be returned. Please note that RETURNS ARE ONLY ACCEPTED FOR 30 DAYS FROM THE DATE AN ORDER IS PLACED, not when it is delivered! It took 47 days to receive my order so even if they allowed ramps to be returned, I wouldn't have been able to because it was 30 days past March 3rd. I understand that a lot of companies have issues because of COVID, but it's unscrupulous not to alter the return policy during these difficult times. I believe Hale Pet Door does business in an unethical manner and would never recommend them. read more

We have had doggy doors for about 25 years. We always bought the "Petsafe" brand, but became disenchanted when they didn't seem to hold up. We live in Minnesota, and both of our Petsafe doors were allowing cold air to come into the garage and then the house. I found Hale Pet Doors on the internet and was immediately impressed, yet hesitated to purchase one because of the cost. I spent a lot of time live chatting or talking with their representatives, reading reviews, and doing research on the internet before we decided to take a chance and buy the Hale Pet Door. The door is worth every penny. It is the most well-made, sturdy, and sound pet door I've ever seen. Through this Minnesota winter, the door remains snug against the frame, despite both of our large labs tearing through the house and racing through the doggy door after a squirrel. There is absolutely no cold air that comes through the flaps. The quality of the door and the flaps is unmistakable and immediately apparent upon arrival. I ordered the white flaps because they would blend in better with the color of our door. I thought at first it was a mistake because I would have to clean them all the time since they were white, but the material they're made from makes them stay clean! It's amazing. The flaps rarely need cleaning, they work just as they are supposed to work, and the dog door is simply amazing. read more

Purchased a Hale Pet Door for my four English Setter rescues and fosters- 2 males, 2 females, ranging in weight from 35-60 pounds, aged 2-14, and of various heights. I live in the northeast with a 90+-year-old parent who used to have to constantly let the dogs in and out all day (we have an electric fence system). Although my oldest girl was too arthritic to use our double-flap wall-installed door, the others have used and enjoyed the Hale pet door comfortably and easily. I now have a 6 month old cattle dog rescue who thinks running in and out of the house all day long is the most fun she could ever have! We had a cold and windy winter and I waited to see how the Hale door would fare through it before writing a review. This door has never leaked cold air, snow or rain. I unconditionally recommend the Hale Pet Door. Hale also donated money to my rescue when I ordered, and that act alone made me choose Hale. Glad I did! read more
