My HVAC is old and I want to do a diagnostic and budget for a new one in case it fails. So I call Haley Mechanical but my experience is terrible. The technician is knowledgeable but I'm deeply unsatisfied with the customer service. (1) Their email says I can respond to the email, but nobody really responds my questions until I call them. It seems that they are not aware of the emails *ever*. They always need me to call them and never remembers my question. (2) They always claim they can submit the DTE rebate form, but never submits it even *after I call them twice*. The customer service said she was not responsible for it and transferred me to a voicemail. (3) I told them I also want a quote for a new HVAC system so that I can budget for it. But they are not able to do it in the same visit of diagnostic. I do not want them to come again since I'm scheduling service during COVID. I feel they only want to charge me $150 for the visit but never care about the customers any more, since I'm not interested in installing a new HVAC *now*. But there could be different reasons. read more

We contacted Haley mechanical to install a circuit panel in our daughters house. We set up a date for an estimate on a Monday. They didn't show up or call to tell us they weren't coming. After a second estimate appointment, we agreed to an installation date which they canceled on that day due to "family issues". We set up a second date which they canceled on the date of service due to rain. They did show up on the third attempt to install. I had to take 5 days off from work for two visits, and I did this only because we had paid them half up front. After installation was completed, I gave the technician the final payment. After about a month I received a phone call from Haley mechanicals accounting office asking for the second payment that I gave to their technician the month earlier. read more

Called at 8am to have someone come out to my mobile home to have a possible frozen pipe inspected, was told someone would be out around "lunch, or the after noon" Finally received the phone call around 5:30, that they where about 30 minutes out. Then received a second phone call saying that they didn't know why dispatch didn't tell me that they aren't insured to do work on mobile homes, but they won't be coming out. I work an overnight shift, so at this point I had waited up from 8am, to 6pm. after having worked all night. I'll have to take a personal day as it's almost 24 hours now since I last slept, and I'll be losing my overtime tomorrow. tl;dr They don't work on mobile homes, and don't always inform you to that fact. read more

Our A/C was not cooling. Since it was on Memorial day, they charged me $225 just to come to my place and look at the compressor outside and say everything is frozen. So they can't diagnose and it will take 2 days for it to defrost (when the outside temp is between 80 to 95 F). Just checking with other vendors, I was told 24 hours is enough. When I got the invoice, the tech has written that he is advising to follow up after 4 days. Absolute rip off. They charged me for a premier service as it was holiday but I won't know the issue until after 4 -5 or more than a week? What is premier service about this? Just to drive to my house and spend 5 mins to charge me $225? I have a small kid at home and temperatures are over 90F. read more

And when I thought something was wrong a few days later, he came back out and explained the matter (new sump pump functioning different from my prior one). When I bought my 90-year-old home, I was pretty clueless about what I was getting myself into... Fortunately, I have been able to call on the great team at Haley Mechanical to repair (the many) problems as they have arisen. I have used their services for a new hot water heater, new air conditioner, furnace problems, and to replace my main water and sewer lines. With every visit, I consistently find the servicemen to be polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I have never felt "taken advantage of" in that I feel like all suggested repairs have always been reasonable/warranted, and I have been educated each time about what I can do to maintain the work myself. The work space is always meticulously maintained with drop clothes, and to my untrained eye, the work is always top-notch. I have heard criticism that their prices are on the "higher end," but to be honest, I always know that I am receiving the absolute best quality with Haley Mechanical, so for me, the extra is worth it. In my opinion, Haley Mechanical delivers time and again top notch equipment and service, and I give them my highest recommendation! I paid for a toilet to be installed incorrectly, then the plumber ruined my toilet and I had to purchase a new one. The new plumber removed and installed. I was charged for that (two more hours). Total charge $875!! Biggest rip off and haley was not willing to stand behind their issues. read more

First of all, the office staff was professional, friendly and efficient. Andy C. was the plumber that did the initial consultation who did an excellent job explaining all the details of installing a secondary water meter, plus he did a thorough evaluation of our aging sump pump. He was professional and patient and answered all our questions. We consequently hired Haley to do the plumbing associated with installing a secondary water meter for our irrigation system and we had them install a new sump pump. Andy C. and Lee came in late July to do the work. Again, they were very professional, hard working, knowledgeable and courteous. They did an outstanding job with the projects, cleaned up and then explained all the work they had done. Andy also had a chance to professionally interact with the Township utility representative when he stopped by. I am only basing this review on the salesman. I did not have any work performed. We wanted a price for a new furnace and A/C. Tom came out today 2/20/19. Went downstairs to look at the furnace and I said I wanted an 80% furnace. He looked at me if I was crazy and said " why do you want an 80%? I explained and he said " I only sell high efficiency", " we rarely install 80%". His words, not mine. But i'm sure the business will say he never said that..... That's fine, but I"M the customer and that is what I wanted! Don't try and sell me something I don't want. Out of the 3 other companies I called, none of them tried to convince me to do high efficiency. So, guess who's not getting the job??? read more

I had a loud sound coming from what I thought was my furnace, but which turned out to be my humidifier. Someone had changed the water flow, unbeknownst to me. I called Haley and they sent a tech, Keith, out within one hour. Keith -- who was very knowledgeable and friendly -- quickly analyzed the problem, made an adjustment, and ran a CO2 test on my furnace, which turned out normal. I can't believe no one has reviewed this yet! We have been using Haley for 10 years. Haley did the annual maintenance on our central air and will be putting in a new HVAC system for us. Service? Yes! excellent. On Christmas eve Haley replaced our hot water heater within hours. They are always there when you expect them and do great work. Technicians will give you tips on what you can improve to extend the life of your HVAC equipment without nickel and dimeing. The office personnel were very nice and gave me a response right away (11 PM!) They also send you email updates when the technician is on the way and when they are close. I need medical grade air quality and they will be the ones installing it. Check back later after it is installed and I will update this review. September 2012: A couple days of phone tag but the filter was installed on the day and time agreed upon. The filter itself has made a world of difference in my breathing. This is a great company give them a call. Update February 1 2013 Needed to call Haley, this time for my heating system. Called Haley, left a message and they called me the same day to set up a consult. Don came and we went over the options, which resulted in a quote. We accepted the quote and Haley let us know that DTE gives rebates for the furnace we purchased. Amanda at Haley even filled out our rebate application and sent it to DTE. Techs came on the day and at the time they promised and installed our system in the time allotted. It has only been a month, however the furnace works great. April 2014 Haley installed a home generator. The generator was supposed to be installed before Christmas, but the brutal winter led to delays. When the weather broke the generator was installed and the Ypsi electrical inspector gave it a thumbs up. The guy that installed it were good and I have been happy with it. I think if Haley was a public company I would own half the stock by now. Home generators are very $$$, so do your research. read more

Overall I had a very pleasant experience with Haley. I got a standby generator installed by them. They gave me a decent deal and the installation was done very well and professionally. The only reason I give 4 stars is because after the installation a few months down the road an issue occurred with the gen that they had no idea about. I had to call them a few times and they came a couple of times but the visits never resulted in a fix. But they finally did figure it out and fixed the issue even if it took a month. Their customer service is pretty good. They were prompt in calling me on their own to inquire about setting up a follow up service appointment on my gen and the Deanna at customer service was very nice and courteous to talk to. If I could change one thing, I'd love to tell their sales staff that once a sale is made they shouldn't start avoiding the customer like the plague. With Haley as with other contractors I have all too often seen this rather obnoxious behavior pattern in their sales staff. That while they are negotiating the deal and selling something they are your best friends. But once you have paid them and god forbids if some issue crops up and you try to get a hold of them, its amazing how their responsiveness takes a huge dive and getting a hold of them becomes almost impossible. That is just the other issue I have had with Haley. But overall I am happy with Haley in a great job that they did with my installation and their customer service staff seems quite good too. read more

I had a potentially dangerous electrical issue and Kelsey told me what to do to ensure we were safe and scheduled an electrician to come out right away. I've had time to think about it.... paying nearly $1200 for a 'bottom of the line' contractor discounted (brand no one's heard of not top of the line) hot water heater where the unit larger than the one I got costs @$450 is insane. So is a bill that lists a flat fee w/o breaking down the cost of unit installed and labor. I know why - it would look outrageous to list a $700 labor charge for a hot water installation. Spoke with them about it and they "understood". Use them if you have money to burn. Will not use again myself, and I have 2 furnaces I was going to have them be servicing yearly. Not now. read more

Haley excavated my old gravel driveway. They removed 85 yards of gravel mixed with dirt. They then laid down a nice thick layer of milled asphalt and compacted it.
