This location was the very first Half Price Books location I ever shopped at. I never knew the company existed before I moved to Cincinnati, and once I discovered it I shopped here all the time when I lived nearby. That being said, this location always has a really decent selection of stuff to go through. I've purchased everything from DVDs, Books, & CDs to game systems and IPods here. The staff is always super nice and helpful. I've never attempted to sell anything to this, or any, location before. From what I hear, they really low-ball you (not just here, any location)..so, I probably won't attempt to sell anything to keep my good opinion of them going. Half Price Books - Books, Mags, Music & Video Near Me - Hamilton, Ohio

Bought a book series from here for $45 one month ago. Sold it AND a couple of other books not included in the series back to them today for $13 and some change. When cashing out, I was commenting about my disappointment and another associate actually mocked me. I used to love this store and used to sell and buy here regularly. Today's visit was a huge disappointment. I will choose to do business with other bookstores that actually value their customers. read more

I went in to sell some books today and they looked at my ID and asked if I go by that name or a different one. I'm nonbinary and my government name is not the one I go by - this little gesture was extremely appreciated and I'm not sure if the policy is to be more trans inclusive or not but I certainly felt more welcomed when my name was called over the loud speaker. Their comic book prices continue to skyrocket. It's not just this location either - it's all of them. I will no longer be shopping at HPB period. Talk about alienating your longtime customers. I've been buying comics at HPB for half a decade and this is the thanks I get in return. Never again. read more

This is the only bookstore in our area. Thankfully, it's pretty decent. Not the coziest Half Price you'll ever find, but it has all the new releases and an interesting turn over of books. I'm told it's not the best for scifi by one of my friends, but I'm not that into scifi to know the nitty gritty of that. I love showing up on the days the people who train helper dogs are there. They have other events, too. Free comic book day. That sort of thing. There's a calendar available online. Half Price Books usually satellite around other bookstores and I'm glad to see that with the closing of our other book store, this location has stayed open. I imagine as bookstores close more and more, it will leave more stores like Half Price around. As for selling books, I thought everyone knew you don't get anything for selling them. Boxes and boxes don't add up to much. No one gets rich from reselling old books. Don't buy them unless you really want them. There are libraries. read more

As an avid reader, I love loving close to this store. Although not the largest or comfiest HPB, they have an adequate selection of adult and children's books. It is my favorite place to shop for books when I am not utilizing my Kindle. read more

Don't waste your time bringing in items to sell. I took in three large paper grocery bags full a variety of books, and was only offered $9. I refused the offer. I feel like there must a daily value that is offered to customers because while I was waiting for my offer to be tabulated a man who brought in about 5 - 10 cds was also offered $9. I really don't feel they even look at what you bring in. I knew I wouldn't get a lot for my used books, but that was ridiculous. Do yourself a favor donate your used books to Goodwill, get a receipt for the donation and write them off of your taxes. You'll do better than trying to sell them here. read more

Anyone who is a sophisticated book lover will enjoy this store. I've visited this location many times and I'm always impressed by the consistent updated selection, the "super deals" section, and overall customer service by the employees. Every time I've had questions about book titles they were always helpful and not only directed me to the correct location, but walked there with me and helped me find what I'm looking for. Great customer service and great selection. They really are half-price and most books are in perfect condition.

Selection is limited, there metaphysical section is almost completely removed in recent years. The prices are very high and the pay out extremely low. With options like half price website I feel like it's just not worth going in. Most times when I stop by to shop I regret going in without any purchases. read more

Don't try and sell books to this store. I brought in 46 books by James Patterson and was offered $8. The lady laughed about it. I have spent hundreds of dollars there. After the way I was treated I will never go to that store again. They are a bunch of crooks. How can you appraise the value of 46 books in less than five minutes? read more
