The store seems small but a lot…read moreis crammed in, including some really kitschy cool decor (many discreet 'not for sale' signs to be noted) as well as a lot of items featuring cats that resemble Winnie, the shop cat. There also is a second floor which may be dedicated to a children's area; not positive as I didn't go up there. I am always on the lookout for old books as in 70-plus years, but not a whole lot in that department here as far as sorted items. There was a big stack of aged books but not catalogued. Believe me, I would have gladly pulled up a stool and reviewed the entire stack but as is often the case, the impatient husband was waiting in the car so I couldn't prolong my visit. I did grab a great sci-fi classic by Isaac Asimov; the book is pretty beat up but one dollar! Also spotted a tote bag featuring cats and books so that went home with me for sure. There are places to sit if you want to chill and read for a while. The lady behind the counter indicated that I could contact them for any old books I am searching for. Happy that they have Sunday hours and looking forward to a future visit.

This is a cool and big used bookstore. There are some special editions and they do book binding…read moreand repair. There is a basement and then several floors to spend time checking out books. The service was really nice. There are a lot of older books and not as many newer books. I did think that the sections were well organized and alphabetized so it made it easier to search through. The prices were good as well. It's a nice place to come and browse and look for a hidden gem of a read.

This location was the very first Half Price Books location I ever shopped at. That being said, this location always has a really decent selection of stuff to go through. I've purchased everything from DVDs, Books, & CDs to game systems and IPods here. The staff is always super nice and helpful. I've never attempted to sell anything to this, or any, location before. From what I hear, they really low-ball you (not just here, any location)..so, I probably won't attempt to sell anything to keep my good opinion of them going. If you are looking for speciality versions of games they always have a good variety. The calendars are usually a really good price by the end of March. Future Great Comics is a new local comic book shop in Hamilton. They opened up almost a year ago. I…read morecould not be more excited about it because the last time we had a comic book shop in Hamilton was when I was a small child, and then that quickly turned into a tobacco store of all things! It's so great to not have to travel at least 30 minutes away to get some fresh comics. The owner, Brian, is super very friendly and helpful. He is one of the nicest, coolest people you'll ever meet. He's not at all stuck up or rude like at other comic shops... *cough* Queen City Comics *cough cough*. They sell new comic issues and some back issues as well. If you don't see something you want, Brian will be more than happy to try to order it in for you if he can. He started carrying Invader Zim just for me and my husband. They also sell toys and collectibles, they have a good selection of Funko Pop figures. They sell graphic novels, manga, table top gaming supplies and t-shirts too. He is always getting some good rare stuff into the store that he found at flea markets or auctions. They also regularly hold costume contests, signings by artists, and other such events. They have a table top gaming space in the back of the store. I know he is trying to get a program started where people can come in, sit down, chill out and try out a table top game, and afterwards he will start selling the games in the store if people really take to it. Indeed, this is a godsend and a lovely, wonderful gem to have in Hamilton. Do yourself a favor and stop in, chat with Brian, buy some of his awesome merch, and maybe sit down for a game or two. This store deserves all of your business!! Don't let another comic book shop get away from Hamilton! Especially not an amazing one like this.

Playing TTRPGs in the large game rooms can be difficult because the sound carries WAY TOO MUCH!…read moreDuring games, it can feel like you need super hearing just to follow what is happening at your own table. Some sound barriers, acoustic panels, or better room separation would make a huge difference. I also wish the store had a clearer focus. They seem to be trying to do a little bit of everything, but some areas feel underdeveloped. They are not really a strong destination for comics; the miniature painting supplies are limited, the other items need better category separation, and the TTRPG offerings could be stronger. Their Sunday D&D one-shots also sell out quickly, and they have in-store gaming waiting lists, which shows there is demand, but not enough space or availability. Pricing can also be on the high side for certain items compared to other options. The store is expanding, which could be a great opportunity. However, I hope the expansion improves the actual play experiences and gives more attention to TTRPG events, sound control, and product focus. More space alone will not solve the issue if the store continues trying to cover too many categories without doing any one of them especially well.
