We always love walking around Books & Co. I love a bookshop. Lots of variety of books. Prices are kinda pricey, but expected. Service is usually pretty good at checkout. I've never had an issue there otherwise. The store is clean and well-maintained. read more

I work close to the Greene and I love stopping in to Books and Co. during my lunch break or after work. I had some time yesterday before I had to be at dinner and of course I ended up in the bookstore! I love how this store is set up. They have tables at up right in the front with all the most popular books right now. Even when I don't buy anything, it's nice to walk around and get an idea of what good books everyone is reading.they also have an amazing clearance section and I am usually able to find 2-3 books every time that are on my wish list. These books are usually between $4-10. I also love that they have beautiful editions of the classics and I have purchased many of my favorites in these versions. I know I will stopping in here many more times this year and will find my next favorite read! read more

Was confused about the different tickets for an author visit the staff said if I bought either ticket I could come to the discussion. Show up and they said that I bought the wrong ticket and left me with the other people who bought the wrong ticket OUTSIDE in the rain for a little under 2 hours! When the author was upstairs there would've been more than enough room for us to be downstairs away from the rain. So after spending an hour and a half to get here only to be told to wait outside and still having to wait in a long line. Not coming here and would encourage authors and guest to not come here or use this place. read more

OK book store. Some books I were looking for were there, some weren't. Like they didn't have Ready Player One. Anyway, the books that were there, most of the them were more expensive than getting it on Amazon, with shipping included, by about $2-$3 even with the member discount. Which makes sense, they are a B&M store, and you get the convenience of having the book that instant. I'd come back here to buy my books. Only because I like supporting my neighborhood stores. read more

Great selection of books and good store but service was not good at all. They upsold my 16 year old daughter at the checkout on 'free' magazine subscriptions for 3 different magazines. She is now being charged for these magazines and it has been a nightmare trying to cancel them. Ridiculous to do that, especially to a minor. read more

Tried to return and item that was gifted to me a month or so ago and they did EVERYTHING in their power to deny it. Needs my name and phone number to "confirm it was a legit return" even though I'd never been there. Ended up getting a gift card for it but the amount of hoops I had to jump through were egregious. I like Books and Co. First of all, It's in a beautiful space at The Greene. I like the grand staircase as it gives it a classy feel. I like to get a little exercise by walking up it once and then taking the elevator back down. The employees seem to be friendly enough from my several experiences there. Their selection is pretty decent and the prices are typical for a book store. I will mention that they don't seem to do a lot of discounting. If they would try to be a little more competitive, I would swipe my plastic with them more often. That being said, I will be back to browse and buy a magazine or two next time I'm at the Greene! read more

We have been customers of Books and Co since they opened years ago in the Town and Country Shopping Center. When the moved to The Greene and after being bought by Books A Million, they lost that friendly neighborhood feeling. Still it's a good place to shop for "real" books which I continue to enjoy along with those on my Nook. It is a nice place to browse and the comfortable seats in the stacks and a good place to relax. Joe Muggs is gone and replaced with a frozen yogurt shop. Never tried so no insight. We will continue to visit until it eventually disappears along with other "real" book stores. read more

do not go here. They aggressively badger you until you're basically forced to sign up for magazine subscriptions and lie to you when you ask if this will cost money. Just found out I was charged ... they illegally took my credit card info and gave it to the magazine companies and it is impossible to cancel the subscriptions because I don't have an account because books and co made it for me and signed me up! Plus their staff is super slow, stood forever at checkout just to get a small gift. Was obviously in a hurry and not interested in magazines and they forced it upon me. Very upset. I'm just going to keep it real. I would never purchase a book here. Because it is extremely overpriced. Why the 4 stars then? Well I will tell you why. The building itself. It's beautiful, the huge windows, the staircase, the dark wood. Plenty of tables and chairs to peruse books/magazines at your leisure. Also well laid out and easy to find what you are looking for. Which brings me to my next point. I couldn't find what I was looking for. I've had a book on my amazon wishlist for awhile and I just wanted to flip through a few pages before I decided to buy it. I went up the info desk and a very helpful girl searched their databases for it. Turns out they didn't carry it, but she could order it in for me. She then looked on amazons website and found it for 1/3 of the price on there, and recommended I purchase it from amazon. Wow! Ok are they trying to lose business? Seriously though, any company that does that is pretty ok in my book. I might not buy anything here...but I would at least get someone a gift card. Doesn't that count for something? read more

Whenever I want to pretend I'm in some cool city where I can walk to shops, restaurants, bookstores, and movies, I drive to the Greene. I park and get out and the magic happens. So I guess I'm reviewing Books and Co. and not the Greene. There are books there, I saw some magazines, I sat down in a comfortable chair and read these said Magazines for free. I procured myself some Iced Coffee from Joe Muggs. I plan to go there again sometime to do the same exact thing. Yes dreams do come true. read more

Checked out this bookstore for the first time this week and I really like it. They have fun displays like a zombie section and game of thrones one that incorporates the books along with some fun tchotchkes and t-shirts. They also have a huge wall of magazines and periodicals for every interest. Upstairs they also have a graphic novel section and a comprehensive travel and cooking section as well. I also noticed that they had a very large assortment of discounted books as well. Some were new but they also have a section of library books that were now for sale for just $3. You have to do a little digging but finding something interesting isn't hard. Great book store that's just a few feet away from my apartment. Perfect! read more

It's hard to find an actual "book store" anymore, with the addition of online shopping and digital readers, but I personally love to hold the words in my hand as I dive into a different world and escape into a new story. When teamed up with the atmosphere of The Greene, and the addition of a great Yogurt shop on the first floor, this two story, massive bookstore is the perfect getaway where I have dissappeared for hours before in reading bliss. The shop is well organized, easy to navigate, and the staff is very helpful in your search for specific items. They offer an area where authors can come in and hold meetings or readings, as well as a kids reading area that is bright and colorful and fun to look through. Aside from books, they also sell board games, toys, legos, comic books, clothing, nerd swag, and random other reading related trinkets! read more

I don't care about this place. The staff will help you if you ask and will ignore you if you don't. It does offer a quiet environment for one to read through books and drink coffee, but the books are needlessly expensive. Being an English major myself, you would think that some of my cohorts who are employees here would have figured out how to clean a bathroom by now. read more

Hard to come by many free standing bookstores anymore. If you appreciate them like I do, this one is AWESOME! It is also HUGE! As with any bookstore nowadays they have some cool eclectic gifty things that arent books too. Many things i'd never seen anywhere else such as a "Solar pope". Check out their discount books section for some great deals, otherwise they are a bit pricey. I would allow quite a bit of time to walk around here, as we didnt have enough stopping in to kill some time before a movie. Will be back. read more

It is surrounded by excellent shops and restaurants and overlooks The Greens's green with computer-controlled fountains. I had never heard of Books & Co before coming here. The boy wanted to take a look around and I'm never one to turn down the chance to peruse a bookstore! It was large and had an expansive selection of books just like one would expect from a Barnes & Noble. The 2nd floor also had an area set up for book signings and readings. It looked like it would be a nice place for it! It also has its standard assortment of book related items as well. I ended up getting a lap desk with holders for a cup, pen/pencil, and phone. It was really cute and I got several compliments on it later on over at the coffee shop. We didn't have an opportunity to try out the coffee shop on site but it looked convenient for sipping something fter getting a new book! read more

I go to this bookstore quite often and buy books and magazines here on occasion. It has a great atmosphere for browsing, reading, and meeting with friends. My friends and I have even taken our prom pictures on one of the two big staircases in the store. The only drawback about this store is that the selection is noticeably smaller here than other Books and Co. stores, but it's never a problem to find something you like. There are also often books signed by their authors, and these are always denoted by little bookmarks sticking out of them. It's a nice touch. read more

Such a scam!!!! I signed up for the "free" magazine trial and was told that I would get notice of cancellation before they charged me. I never got notice and have been charged twice. Almost 100 dollars!!!! I have called the number 3 times and have been told that they can't find my account. They're a fraud and should go out of business for giving peoples card information without permission. Regret ever stepping foot in there and I want my money back. read more

The customer service experience we experienced here (or lack thereof) was horrid. My husband had reserved a book and went up to the information counter to retrieve it. When he told the creepy, dark curly haired guy with glasses (just in case you ever run into him) who he was and that he had reserved a book, the guy literally stared at him and said nothing. After a quite uncomfortable 10 seconds of this, the employee very rudely said, ' the title?' and then handed it to my husband without a word or even looking at him. They have lots of sales :) and local library books for sale at $2-4 per book. It's as big as Borders but with a huuuuge bargain section.

I enjoy visiting Books & Co! The grand stairway at the entrance looks beautiful and has character. In my experience, the employees interacted with me in a very pleasant manner. Since the store has comfortable chairs and tables, I find it easy to read, study, or hang out with friends. They sell frozen yogurt that tastes like ice cream and freshly brewed coffee. The noise level depends on the day, so I prefer not to bring heavy work during the weekends. This bookstore is always a joy for me! read more

Their books a million book club is a scam to trick a person into buying magazines. Do not fall for this ... my daughter used my rewards card and thought she was doing well by accepting a "free" trial of magazines for me.. several months later i was being billed for them on my credit card. The reason for MEH is RUDE employees particularly @ the Joe Muggs coffee counter. Ok talking shit about a customer when they are standing a few feet away is never a good way to increase tips morons! Really pissed me off, almost marched over and ripped then a new one but had my babies so I had to be ladylike. The bookstore itself is huge and has decent prices and cute coffee mugs. The Greene in general reminds me of a mini Easton Towne Center. The best part was the 2 floor Forever 21! The best I've ever seen. So I will go back just for the Forever 21! read more

I enjoyed being in an actual bookstore, but I got over that quickly. I decided to purchase a hardcover book only after seeing the "30% off sticker" on the front. It was a $28 book so it should have been about $20. When I got home and looked at the receipt, I saw that I had been charged $26. NOT COOL. I did not appreciate the policy of using the fact that I paid with a debit card to hook me into a deal with a magazine distributor. I was also told by 3 family members that the bathrooms are disgraceful. If you expect to stay competitive with online merchants, you're going to have to bring something more than this customer treatment. Update: They were very friendly and helpful when I returned the book, so I bumped them up to 3 stars. read more

This has been my go to bookstore for many years and today I visited the one at The Greene to pick up a couple of last minute gifts. After I purchased my books, I noticed a display for one book I has just purchased and above the display (this was the only book on the display) there was a sign saying card members get 40% off and others 30% off new arrivals. I asked why I had not received the stated discount and they said because it did not pertain to this particular book. The book I bought was the only one on display so how it did not pertain to that book I do not know. I was not a very happy camper and left the store. The more I thought about it the more it bothered me so I went back to see if they moved the sign and much to my amazement it was still there. I then requested a refund of my purchases and will buy at Amazon. While I was waiting for my refund someone else inquired about the discount for the book and the sign so it was not just me. read more

Bathrooms are gross. Sales associates are very pushy about the reward program. Today in fact the sales associate was downright rude to me after I turned it down. In the past I agreed to a free magazine offer just to shut them up.... My receipt indicated a charge I was unaware of (the rewards program apparently costs $ which was not indicated until I went to pay.). I will avoid shopping here in the future. read more

This store is obviously on it's way out. They've removed all of their high-profit, low-turnover items, like their board game section. The store is a mess. There are missing fixtures, lots of poorly patched drywall damage, and the bathrooms are disgusting. I hope that when they fail they're replaced by a Barnes & Noble. read more

I don't know why but I keep giving this store chances. It's got a beautiful layout and an awesome location but the employees seem to be uncaring about their customer's concerns and often don't have a clue what you are talking about when it comes to books. We went for a book signing for our 5 year old son not long ago and upon arrival, we found out that the event was cancelled - no announcements were made online and no apologies were given. What a disappointment! Another time, we went into the store and found a display of books that were advertised as signed by the author. Not a single one was autographed! The thing that bothers me the most about this store is that very seldom can you go into the children's book section and not see teenagers lying on the window seats, making out, feeling each other up and jizzing all over the children's books that are unlucky enough to be nearby. No normal parent wants to spend any quality time with their child shopping for books there. Barnes and Noble is across town but worth the drive to avoid this place! read more
