As a book lover this is heaven on Earth. So many books and a plethora of genres. You name it they probably have it. I came it looking for books for myself and ended up picking up a few books for the kiddos too. They loved the selection. There are also educational games, puzzles and other material. Not to mention the vinyl selection is chef's kiss. Service is always a pleasure. Now some books can be a bit pricey but definitely worth the splurge. I usually frequent the Mesquite location, but sadly they closed down. 10/10 read more

This store looks deceptively small from the front. It's about the same size as most other HPB and includes a good variety. It might be a little smaller -- I noticed fewer in the media section for Blu-ray, DVD, and CDs. Books are organized well with the new bestsellers in the front and the same signage as seen in every HPB. A good bargain section and clean restrooms. I did not purchase anything on this trip so I can't comment on the service. However, the store is clean and on par with others. The part I find most difficult is the integration of fiction and literature. However, if you know the author you are looking for then it's not an issue. If you have an interest in browsing, everything is mixed together. read more

Great selection of books and reasonably priced. We spent a couple of hours here and left with tons of new (new to us) books!

I come to this HPB quite often. The staff is always kind and helpful, and the book and product selection is very nice! The store itself is a lot bigger than it looks on the outside, and I would recommend stopping here! read more

The first display of the front of store is unacceptable. And I was looking for a kids book and the spell casting book was noticeable. And yes, it's written for children. I always thought of this company as a Christian owned place. But it is not, and I found these placements very displeasing and disappointing. read more

Of course everyone will experience the Half Price Books in Rockwall differently than me, but beside The HPB Flagship store, this is one of my favs. The store is very large, clean and very well laid out. All of the sections seem to be very well stocked. I can't speak for all people and their interests, but there is a nice New Age section with 5 full shelves on astrology alone. The bathroom is awesome. Male and Female bathrooms are separate with pristine clean stalls, lots of paper and paper towels and hot water. Very nice restroom. My germaphobia is very comfortable in this store. The HPB employees are very friendly and helpful here. There are even a few chairs scattered around for weary shoppers. It's a nice touch. Kudos to HPBs for such a lovely bargain bookstore shopping experience. Of course I spend a lot of time here and my bank account shows it. A well deserved 5 stars. Like the name suggests, 1/2 price books are hard to beat if you still prefer analog to digital reading. Something about the way a bookstore smells seems relaxing. All the IPads,PODs and so on have yet to generate a good old book smell- lol I do have digital reader too but just messing with the techies...don't hate read more

Half Price Books - Books, Mags, Music & Video Near Me - Rockwall, Texas

I like this store. I've bought and sold here. I love the concept of Recycling old books. The people who work here are beyond helpful and friendly. Don't expect to get rich by selling old books and CDs, but it's enough cash to give you a little motivation to clean out you library. My 1 complaint is that the way everything is organized makes it feel a little chaotic. Which makes it harder to browse as easily. read more

I have to say this store is the best store that I've been in so far in the many of their other Half Priced Books stores that I've visited!! I went into this store to look around for a few books but I was going through EXTREME CHRONIC PAIN (due to me having a chronic pain disease known as CRPS among other names like RSDS or the Suicide Disease) that was from my CRPS being in a extreme flare-up the employees saw I was having a really bad time!!! So they came up often not only to help me but to check on me also!! I was treated great with caring & respectful by the store employees!! So if your looking for a GREAT Book Store than I'd go no further than this store!! They have a ton of books for kids to adults oh yeah they also carry some of the neatest toys & adult fun items too!! Usually take all my books and movies to HPB after I read them and watch 'em. Last time I took about the same amount of Good conditioned items and got a decent 50 dollars. This time, I had books that were in good condition and I had purchased from Barnes n noble and blue ray movies and they only offered me 18 dollars, they couldn't even round it up to 20 for me. Ooo well, HPB is the GameStop of trading in your books. I at least got to de clutter my room even though HPB is just gonna sell about 2 of my items and make over 18 dollars on it anyways. This place is extremely overpriced on all music. Double and triple Amazon prices . Common vinyl titles at double and triple the prices at other used vinyl shops. CDs looked expensive too. read more
