About to rent again from these guys and wanted to write a quick review because I forgot to last time. We rented a 16' KZ Sportsman for a brew tour up the west coast of Mi to Traverse City Brew Fest in august 2011. The trailer was in great shape, the rental was easy and the people super cool. I get weary of renting ANYTHING because of the BS that can come with liability, deposits etc. but we had a flawless experience and hope to again this year! Renter BEWARE ! I also had the same problem with the on line application. I sent them a deposit for the RV and they cashed the check. A few weeks before our scheduled vacation , my oldest son died. A family friend contacted Hallmac and canceled the motor home and told us that the company said they would refund our deposit. Two months later when I called about receiving my deposit back, they said it was clear in the rental agreement that the deposit was non refundable. Bottom line is these people are a couple of jerks and should not be in business. read more

Our experience renting a travel trailer was not a good one. The A/C unit was leaking for the first two days and we had to clean the mess and fix the unit ourselves. When we asked for an adjustment of our inconvenience we were refused. read more

this is the business i picked to rent an rv for bonnaroo. the prices seemed cheap or comparable to most other rv rentals and i liked how the internet reservations were set up. hallmac rents rv's that are owned by private individuals. they do not own any of the rv's they rent. even from the beginning of making a reservation there were problems. i used the online application and sent it off. i waited two weeks for a return email or call and got nothing. i then called the office. nobody answered (this happened multiple times). i finally got a hold of the secretary or whatever she is and she told me she never received it. i filled it out on the phone with her and emailed it and she told me she immediately got it. she then told me this happens all the time. i sent them a 350 deposit check. this check was never cashed until 1 month after i returned from camping. so i decided on a popup and when the contract came in the mail, i was signed up for a more expensive popup that i had not picked. the one i picked was not reserved when i wanted and i was still told that it was unavailable. should have listened to my little man in my head at this point, but i had already bought tickets for bonnaroo and had also purchased the rv ticket. i reserved in january, i was leaving in june. it took 4 months for me to contact the owner of the rv and i was told that i couldn't look at it because it was in storage. he assured me everything was alright. so, the day to rent came. i had my truck and was ready to go. i had informed the guy (mike) that is was renting from that i had towed an rv once and i was unsure about hooking it up and would not be unhooking it until i brought it back to him. he refused to let me pick the rv up before 8pm. thanks weirdo. i spent the night before bonnaroo at his house until 10pm because of this. he was the most anal person i had ever met and insisted on showing me exactly how to set up the towing contraption. i assured him that i would be driving to tennesse and would never unhook it. he still went on. oh, and his breath smelled like a foot that farted in your mouth. he had a 4 page printed sheet on how to open the popup. i was in hell. he also proceeded to tell me that there was no water in it for the toilet and that the bbq no longer worked. these were all listed as the options on the website. he also had no idea how to hook a generator to it, even though i had told him a month earlier that was the entire reason i wanted the popup. so i went to bonnaroo. had a good time and cleaned the popup after i got back. i got over my anger with him. returned the rv. he said something with the towing had broken. i told him he set it up and i never touched it. he made it seem like he wouldn't charge me, but i was willing to pay anyway. 1 month later i call the rv company and ask why they just cashed my 350 check. they tell me the owner had charged me 182 dollars. 42 for the broken towing part and 140 for cleaning. he also said he had to clean the bathroom. the bathroom was not usable. ever. trust me i would have used it. he charged 140 to clean the outside and inside. i was never informed of these charges before they were deducted from my deposit. i was not informed that they planned on cashing the deposit i had sent to them 7 months earlier. thank god i had enough in my checking account. i disputed the charges in an email to the company and the owner. i was angry, i cleaned the freaking popup myself. and who charges 140 for maybe a 1/2 hour of cleaning. thanks for letting me vent. never rent from hallmac or an anal, turd breathed guy named mike. love juston read more

My son and I rented a 16 foot KZ travel trailer for our trip to Oshkosh, WI. The rental process was smooth and the owners were very nice. Trailer was spotless and ready when we picked it up. Mike explained everything very well and the trailer worked perfectly. We will do this again next year. read more

Run as fast as you can from Hallmac RV Rental in Novi, Michigan. I rented the 16' KZ Sportsman trailer from them in July 2015. There were numerous problems: 1) The trailer smelled awful, so I had to disinfect it before I used it 2) The awning was broken and couldn't be used 3) You could not use the air conditioning because it leaked all over the dinette 4) The waste tanks were FILLED with CRAP, even though my husband and I only urinated in the camper. Shelly, the owner of Hallmac, lied and told me she personally emptied the tank. 5) The mattress had something red spilled all over it When these issues were brought up to Shelly, she basically called me a liar. She said she would check the air conditioning and call back the next day. I wanted a discount because she did not provide the service I paid for. Well, she was quick to charge the full amount on my account, but I never heard from her. If you are considering renting an RV, please think twice about doing business with this company or you will be sorry. read more
