One of our favorites is the seasoned fajita meat - steak and/or chicken. My husband grills it on an outdoor griddle then we wrap it in tortilla wraps for an out-of-this-world delicious (and very simple) meal. Quick and easy at its best! We highly recommend this new butcher shop! Just got home with a super thick Rib Eye steak, some super thick pork chops (all cut to order) for the grill. Yum!

Interior The most recent owner has done some stuff to make it look more upscale, like faux interior wood flooring. Price / Value / Food I found some very good deals in the meat department. Unlike any of it's predecessors, they have Boar's Head deli meats. They have a hot bar with stuff like fried chicken, fried pork chops, mac & cheese. Apparently the offerings change daily but there's a schedule (ie fried fish on Fridays). Customer Service As usual, the customer service was top notch. The deli attendant made a mistake and sliced nearly 2.5 lbs of turkey instead of a quarter pound (0.25) and one night when I ventured in, someone from the deli had dished up portions of food and priced them without labeling the contents so the staff had no way of knowing if the containers contained sweet potato casserole, mac n cheese or what - but we all gotta give people grace in this day of struggle staffing. Overall I hope these guys stick around. They also own The Market (restaurant and seafood market).

Some of the prices are a bit high compared to competitors but shop local!!! The prices are fine when you factor in the convenience of location. The parking lot was completely done along with the interior. It's clean, modern and well organized. When it was BiLo it felt horribly crowded. Not worth the price at all. The filet was meh. Standard taste, not poor quality, but not special. It was a little cheaper than the Whole Foods prices I'm used to, but without the WF standards for animal wellness. Sausage was decent, fairly priced. Had full flavor, mildly spiced, fulfilled the craving. Tres Major was very good. Full of flavor, lacking sinew or gristle, just a great cut. Stripling's selection is better than any grocery in Brunswick, and beats Harris Teeter for meats selection and price. Stripling's has a great selection of specialty foods, as well. Prices seemed a little high, but nothing like the specialty shops on SSI. Overall, Stripling's is a good stop in a pinch if you can't get down to Jax for diverse shopping options. They are conveniently located central to SSI, JI, and Brunswick, which is very handy.

Thanksgiving two years ago, it was the only place in Savannah that knew what a crown roast was and how to do one! That used to be standard knowledge in meat markets. Truth is, we no longer have meat markets. We have folks who unwrap frozen cuts, package them and put them out. We do have two chain markets that try but they just aren't the same.

You can have three or four people in line, but only one register open. And I don't know what area we're in, but how come you cannot sell any kind of beer or wine? We played a lot of outdoor activities - it was a hot day and not too crowded. Sadly Poppell was a no go for the 2020 pumpkin season, but we still took advantage of them for Christmas trees! We got a tree and a wreath! Trees come in varying sizes. They have different colored tags to denote how tall the tree is. Their wreaths come in different sizes too! This will be our first wreath ever!

One thing that really stood out was that they were very safety conscious. You could tell that safety is their first priority. The staff were very courteous and it seemed like there was a staff member everywhere you turned. The only reason I didn't give our visit 5 stars was because the "pumpkin patch" was very disappointing. We had driven 1.5hr to get here with the main purpose of wanting our kids to have the experience of a hayride to an actual pumpkin patch. Instead, we waited 45min in line for the hayride that ended at a grass field (not pumpkin patch) with only small pumpkins (that were not big enough to carve). They did have full size pumpkins of various sizes and price points in the main event area back at the farm entrance, but we were expecting a place where pumpkins could be picked off the vine. For this reason, I'm not sure we'd return but I do want all the other great aspects noted because they were so well done.
