I just want to add to this post because I think it's important. When I did my egg retrieval with Dr. Macer we expected about 12-15 eggs based on follicle count. However, when I woke up and he told me we only got 4 I was completely devestated. He COULD NOT explain what happened. I asked several times what happened throughout our journey with him and he either brushed it aside or said he had to "look at his notes". He only saw me twice during stims and used a very one size fits all protocol. I luckily got two euploid embryos out of the 4, but both transfers failed. After the failed transfers, he completely misdiagnosed me, which is mentioned in the above review. When we told him about this he decided to get aggressive and told us to only contact the front office if we wanted to be seen by him again. We of course decided we would never go back there. I just did stim cycle and retrieval with my new doctor and we got 24 eggs, 21 mature. His approach was very different. He saw me every other day or every day, checked my blood levels and made sure we upped medication or lowered it based on blood results. This was never done with Macer. I would never recommend anyone to Dr. Macer. Please be careful with trusting this doctor. He has good bedside manner until you question him and can turn very quickly. Also, his office is he does not have the capabilities to do retrievals or transfers out of it. So, you would be traveling to Laguna beach for all of that. read more

After trying unsuccessfully for 3 years, with no answers as to why we weren't getting pregnant, and hearing several gynecologists through the years ignore our concerns and instead keep telling us that "you're still young, don't worry", we finally stepped into Halo Fertility and it has changed our lives. In the first appt, he sat with my husband and I for almost an hour, he was so attentive and empathetic to our struggle. He listened to all our concerns, our history with infertility and we could sincerely feel that Dr. Macer really cares about his patients. He also goes in depth explaining the female reproduction, all that needs to happen for a successful pregnancy to occur and where he thought could potentially be our issue. He literally drew pictures as he explained, which was especially appreciated by my husband! Within a couple months of getting treatments, we got pregnant through IUI! Dr. Macer was able to find out what our issue was, adjust treatment to make sure I ovulated, and find the best treatment plan for us. We are now 7 weeks along and beyond thankful to the entire Halo Team. When we had our first ultrasound, it was not just my husband and I crying happy tears! That's just how much the team cares for their patients and love what they do. I know fertility clinics might seem like a big step and even intimidating, but Dr Macer, Kyle and Nancy will make you feel right at home. The amount of care they have with us is beyond incredible and we are so grateful. Nancy has helped me numerous times when I needed help getting prescriptions urgently, going above and beyond to make sure my pregnancy continues going smoothly. We came to Halo Fertility after 2 years of trying without success. We had total 3 OB-GYN and 1 Fertility Doctor with 5 failed IUI before we decided to move forward with IVF. This review is long overdue, but it's been on my heart to sing Dr. Macer and his team's praises. After my OB told me I had about a year to freeze my eggs or get pregnant due to my "lower than normal" egg count, I cried. I literally cried. That's just not news you take well or easy, but I put my big girl pants on and started doing my research. I initially booked a consult at another, more well-known fertility clinic, but after reading reviews, I got really nervous, especially after one mentioned a wrongful death. So I kept researching and I stumbled upon Halo just through Google and even though Rolling Hills is about an hour from where I live, their reviews convinced me to give Dr. Macer a chance. Start to finish, it was a 5-star experience. His team is fantastic, non-judgmental and super understanding. Dr. Macer is really personable. I didn't feel like a number here, I felt like a person who's concerns were taken seriously. After speaking about my goals in our first consult, we did a secondary egg count and found that my egg count was much higher than what my OB said, and even though he said I had the option to wait a year, I decided to proceed because it took a lot of courage to get there and I had already mentally prepared to go forward with the procedure. So for those next 2 months, I made semi-frequent trips to his clinic. Dr Macer's team was good to me. They were very gentle, answered all my questions, and explained everything to make sure I understood what to do. Once I started shots, Kyle was always available to me when I had questions. I did cry through the process because it was emotional for me but seeing Kyle and Dr. Macer at the finish line on retrieval day made it all worth it! He was able to retrieve 11 eggs and mentioned that if I wanted more, I can always do another round, which is reassuring to me about my chances for fertility. The best part, for their exceptional service, they're actually on the more affordable side. Sure, it's an expensive procedure not often covered by insurance, but I saw other places with less than stellar reviews that were $5,000-$15,000 more! So I took this as a win win and when I am ready to have children, I trust Dr Macer completely and look forward to working with him and his team in the future.
