Let's just say, I am so sad that Dr Scharff is retiring at the end of March this year...but also very happy for him as he has been an amazing doctor from the day I met him over 14 years ago. While I was a bit hesitant on having a make OBGYN, he immediately puts you at ease and the most gentle, caring and nurturing doctor one can ask for. His bedside manner is wonderful and his staff so far has been amazing as well. I joke with him that I have three kids because of him - because I was too sad to not see him for the many pregnancy check ups which is half true! I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Scharffenberger & his amazing staff Michelle, Jessica, Ruth & Breanna. From the telephone call I made to schedule the appointment, to my initial well woman's visit to my follow up visit I felt fully at ease and got all of my questions answered beautifully & professionally. I write this review after walking out of an appointment that they squeezed me in for last minute! Everyone was so gracious about accommodating me and I was in and out sooooo quickly! A little bonus is that I left my favorite pen at the office and they saved it for me and they kept it safe & sanitized then surprised me with it at my next appointment! Truly this office is like a little family. It's those little details and thoughts that count. Dr. Scharffenberger is the best physician I have ever experienced and I would recommend every woman to his practice. His care is thorough, he listens to you, he trusts that you know your own body but he also has a wealth of knowledge and expertise that he educates you with at every turn. The office is popular but not to the point of you ever feeling rushed. The nurse Ruth always takes me back on time and she's super sweet; she helped me get established on the online portal so that I can view my test results right away. Dr Scharffenberger is the best OB GYN I've met by far. He has this calm nonchalant way about him, that just makes any scary situation... like it's nothing to worry or anxious about. He was a key factor and my healthy twins boys pregnancy and birth. I'm truly grateful to have had him as my OBGYN. 2018 I changed my insurance from PPO to HMO and was disappointed I could no longer see him, because he only accepts PPO insurances. I will definitely make sure to switch my plan back to PPO if I ever plan on having another child. read more

I have since moved back to the east coast, but I still fly across the country to see Lynette, NP for my OBGYN/Well-woman exams. Yeah, I FLY five and a half hours just to see her because she's THAT good and the staff are THAT amazing. In my many years of dealing with healthcare (in both personal and professional life), this office is by far the gold standard of how a practice should be run. I am always in awe of the staffs' kindness, empathy, and attention to detail. Lynette is the epitome of all that. When she says she'll follow up, she will follow up. When the staff leave her a message, she gets back to you promptly. (And you know how often things like that fall through the cracks in healthcare!...So it is greatly appreciated that everyone follows through!) I can't say enough good things about this office. They are handling covid very well! They take your temp before you sit down and the waiting room doesn't crowd. You also don't have to wait very long to go into to see the dr. Scharffenberger. Dr. Scharffenberger delivered all 4 of my kids of which now one of those kids is now having a kid of her own. He was absolutely amazing when I was a scared first time mom and again amazing when I developed DVT during my 4th pregnancy. I can't believe I haven't written a review for Dr sharffenberger, and his office staff!! He is hands down the best doctor! His bedside manner is truly incomparable, he's so patient, truly genuine, and sweet! he really listens, and tries to accommodate to all your needs! I had to have a unplanned c section and Dr sharffenberger made a good call, because the umbilical cord was wrapped around my daughters neck! But now we are all here healthy, and happy! And I healed all up without any complications from my c section! I would recommend him to anyone looking for the best Dr! Oh and the women working in his office are super friendly! Dr Scharf is well respected by the hospital staff and community for good reason. He assisted on a surgery for me and was on call the day I went into labor unexpectedly. In both cases he was extremely attentive. He visited me daily in the hospital after my surgery, even though he was just assisting. Even the other doctors in the practice that didn't assist were checking in on me. Trust me when things go down, this practice is fantastic and they treat you like you are the most important person in the world. He is such a nice person, was so real and honest with me. He wanted to make sure I was given all the facts and that I knew what to expect. He really is an amazing doctor. read more

I was new to the providence network and was looking for a good OBGYN. I had been with Kaiser for 10 years and was finally trying something new. Dr. Scharffenberger was highly recommended. I was able to book an apt for the following week. Upon arrival, Brianna was nice and patient. Explained everything I had to complete. The nurse that took me in was very nice as well. Dr. Scharff worked with me through two pregnancies- the first of which resulted in a late-stage D&C. He provided so much care and support. I was a nervous patient as I entered my second pregnancy but he, Lynette, and his front office team were extremely considerate and helpful in all aspects of my treatment. Our family's favorite doctor! Thank you Dr Scharf and staff for excellent care and a safe delivery. It was such a great journey. I smile whenever we pass by your office and LCM. Two months postpartum and I have some feedback. I wish I had been informed ahead of time about postpartum care and breastfeeding. The first month postpartum was very overwhelming partially because I did not understand what was going on with my body at all (i.e. night sweat, skin changes). The prenatal visits focused 100% on my pregnancy and we did not mention anything about what would happen after. Breastfeeding was somewhat tough and could be even tougher for other moms, and then the idea of pumping and bottle feed in order to return to work. The information overload on the Internet was so overwhelming; it would be helpful to get some official hints from MD ahead of time or offer a list of lactation consultants. I didn't know to have to electric pump ready (need a prescription from MD); mine didn't come until 10 days postpartum and I suffered unnecessary pain from breastfeeding. read more

I was fortunate enough to start seeing him early on in my pregnancy and he saw me through all 9 months until he delivered my daughter safely into my hands after a C Section. I was considered high risk so we saw a lot of each other during my pregnancy and it was actually a joy to go to the doctors office. Dr. Scharffenberger delivered my first child 22 years ago and I can't say enough good things about him. After working for many hours to help me deliver naturally, we both agreed that a c-section was my only option (confirmed by the size of my son!) and I healed beautifully without any complications. I came to Dr. Sharfenberger after my gyn could not understand why I had constant uterine bleeding (up to 20 days a month) there was nothing physically wrong so she wrote me off. When I came to Dr. Sharfenberger he said "you can't live like this, let's fix it." Although I had no polyps, or sists there was a way to fix this. He suggested I have an ablation. That was three years ago. I have a period for about 2 -3 days a month and it is VERY minimal. Thank you Dr. Sharfenberger for being pro active. read more

I just moved back down to the South Bay after living in Seattle and reached 35 weeks before seeing him. I called less than two weeks in advance and the staff was very helpful in setting up an apt. for me. When I went in to meet Dr. Scharffenberger for the first time, he couldn't have been more warm and welcoming. He had a smile on his face the entire time, as I re-capped my pregnancy to that point, and was very calm and comforting in his explanation on what to expect over the next few weeks.
