I went through the IVF procedure (embryo freezing) with Dr. Berger. I'm under 30 so didn't have any complications and was doing it as insurance for the future. The whole experience was great! Dr. Berger was very attentive and accommodating to all my questions. All the nurses were also very helpful and Daysy, the main nurse, was very responsive through phone and email. The anesthesiologist during my egg retrieval procedures was also very friendly/helpful prior to the surgery and did great at calming my nerves. Even after my procedure, Daysy was very good at communicating updates (how the embryos were progressing) and Dr. Berger was very helpful throughout the post-retrieval check-ups. I had a very disappointing experience with this fertility practice and ultimately decided to seek care elsewhere. After my initial consultation, I completed the preliminary bloodwork. During my next appointment, the doctor reviewed the results with me and then ordered additional bloodwork. The woman at the office who took my blood told me the results would be available on the patient portal within two days. When they weren't posted, I called the office the following week and was told that results take at least five days to become available, which was inconsistent with what I had previously been told, and that they'd be posted soon. I called again the next week when the results still weren't available and was told the staff was in surgery that day and they'd make a note to look into it and call me back. No one ever did. After numerous phone calls and follow-ups on my part, the results were finally posted more than six weeks later. What was even more frustrating was that no one ever contacted me to explain what the results meant or discuss any next steps. As someone seeking fertility treatment, waiting weeks for test results without any communication is stressful. I also underwent an HSG procedure at a nearby hospital based on the doctor's recommendation. Once again, I never received a call regarding the results. When I contacted the office, I was told they would obtain the report via fax and follow up with me. Just like before, I never heard back. The lack of communication, follow-through, and coordination throughout the process was extremely disappointing. Fertility treatment can already be an emotional and overwhelming experience, and patients should not have to repeatedly chase down their own test results or wonder whether anyone is managing their care. I ultimately chose not to return and transferred my care. The difference has been night and day with communication, organization, and overall patient experience. I cannot speak to the doctor's medical expertise, but based on my experience, the administrative and patient communication aspects of this practice were severely lacking. read more

Would not recommend this fertility center. We came in to explore our options for IUI and IVF. Based on cost and our personal situation, we initially decided to pursue IUI. During our first visit, we were given clear guidance that supported this direction--and this was consistently reinforced by multiple staff members, including the nurse. However, during our follow-up appointment for an ultrasound, the experience changed significantly. Dr. Josh Bergers shifted his recommendation and strongly pushed IVF instead. When I referenced the information we had previously been given--and noted that his own staff had confirmed it--there was a noticeable lack of accountability. The staff avoided eye contact, which only added to our discomfort and confusion. Fertility treatment is an incredibly vulnerable and emotional journey, and trust is essential. Unfortunately, that trust was broken for us. It felt like our financial value as patients mattered more than our emotional well-being. To make matters worse, when I later called to request our medical records (which we had already paid for out of pocket), the experience was equally frustrating. The representative, Ixamara, was rude and unprofessional, and informed me that I would need to pay an additional fee and complete a release form just to access my own records. This felt unreasonable and added to the overall negative experience. Each interaction with this office resulted in inconsistent messaging and a lack of clarity. For something as important as fertility care, that level of inconsistency is unacceptable. We ultimately decided to go elsewhere and would not recommend this center. read more

The proof is in the pudding. Baby Max was born May 26, 2024. The staff at Innovative Fertility was amazing. Smart, supportive, and available to help at a moment's notice. Dr. Berger really knows his stuff. He's approachable yet realistic when explaining things to his patients, including the risks/rewards of certain procedures and likelihood of certain outcomes. We tried another popular clinic in Westminster but were met with unreturned phone calls and attitudes/behaviors that were not very confidence inducing, especially when you take into consideration how much IVF costs. IFC was the exact opposite and was only marginally more expensive. Money extremely well spent. Can't say we would do it again though.... My firsthand experience is that this clinic is focused on making money off of their patients while providing negligent care. In September 2021, my husband and I started our official infertility journey by completing all testing with this clinic. We felt frustrated that the clinic took over 6 months to communicate sperm morphology results, while we needed to follow up with them multiple times. Ultimately, I felt overwhelmed and pushed pause on the IVF process after finding out we had been lied to and were going to have to pay 10s of thousands of dollars even though our insurance was "in network". I then felt super disappointed by continuing to get phone calls for months about surprise fees the clinic demanded we paid. IT GETS WORSE. After resuming treatment a year and a half later with a different clinic, I was horrified and enraged to find out that Innovative Fertility Center's negligence left my body with a 3 x 4 inches-dark-blue-liquid-filled-water-ballon-sized-Fallopian-tube after I completed a Hysterosalpingography by their request! An average size of a Fallopian tube is 0.2-0.6 x 4 inches. I had to have an emergency type surgery to have it removed all because Dr. Berger and Innovative Fertility Center never looked at nor followed up on the results for tests they requested for me. I went through and IUI and two egg retrievals at this clinic. First off the clinic is convenient to get to and park even when there was construction. The wait time at the clinic is minimal and I saw Dr. Rispler every visit just about, which was very nice because If I had questions I could ask. I will say that Daysy his main nurse coordinator typically answers most questions though and she is super helpful. The best part about the clinic is the staff. They were so helpful! Especially Daysy and Perla! They helped me so much with several faxes and medical records and just about everything. They were seriously so quick to fufill any requests and I am super thankful because I am a disabled vet and was able to get the care I needed because of the clinics great documentation and findings. Dr. Rispler found that I had hydrosalpinges and I was able to get those removed and continue care. Unfortunately both of my egg retrievals ended in zero viable blasts which was devastating, and anyone who has gone through this expensive process knows how hard that is. Dr. Rispler said it was most likely an egg quality issue and pushed me to do an egg donor after the first failed cycle but I declined, I wanted to try again since I had so many eggs (PCOS). After the second cycle he said that he would be willing to try again since the second cycle yielded two abnormal blasts. We had exhausted our funds and had to move on. With the help of this clinic I was able to use my VA benefits to go to another clinic in Newport Beach. I had one egg retrieval with them and now have 10 PGT normal embryos. We just transferred one yesterday and hoping it sticks! read more

Dr. Rispler, Daysy, Pearla and the rest of the staff were wonderful. I definitely recommend this fertility center to anyone trying to conceive a baby. I started going to the Dr. Rispler at the start of 2020. Dr. Rispler took time to sit down with me and my husband to discuss our infertility journey. There were various blood work done that ultimately helped explained my infertility journey. In the beginning we took a less aggressive approach where Dr. Rispler monitored my eggs and would tell me when they were going to drop. Eventually, we moved on to IUI with clomid. The IUI worked but I had a miscarriage. This was a bitter sweet experience because we tried on our own for 2 years before seeing Dr. Rispler with no success but I was able to get pregnant thanks to Dr. Rispler guidance. Sadly the times I got pregnant I miscarried but the plus side is that we now knew I can get pregnant! As a result of the IUI success, we saw it as a success because I was able to get pregnant and carry for 8/9 weeks. My husband and I decided to move forward with IVF after this 9.5 months journey. However, we were told we had to wait for the IVF because after a miscarriage the body has to rest and clear out the HCG levels. When I went back to draw blood for the IVF in mid October I found out I was pregnant! I got pregnant during the waiting period, naturally. Dr. Rispler was happy for us and continued seeing me during my first trimester. Dr. Rispler didn't force me away like any other fertility doctor would have. Instead, he continued to see me and even recommended OBGYN and Perinatal doctors. I never felt alone. I was taken care of and guided all the way until he could no longer see me. Dr. Rispler and his staff are amazing. If you want a doctor that listens to you and respects your fertility journey then this is the right doctor for you. Plus you also get great staff members like Daysy and Pearla that make you feel at ease. It's rare to find such a great office with a great doctor and great staff but this was an awesome find. My husband and I are very thankful to them because without their guidance, help, and advise we wouldn't have been able to get pregnant. I also want to share that during my time as a patient with Innovative Fertility, Covid-19 happened and my husband was no longer allowed in for safety reasons but that did not deter me from going to the office because Nurse Daysy, and Pearla always made me feel like I wasn't alone by always remembering me and talking about different topics. I decided I o want to wait until I was done with the entire IVF process before writing a review. I'm happy to say my last appointment with Dr. Rispler is tomorrow and I'll be 11 1/2 weeks pregnant!! My mind is blown. My husband and I tried for over 4 years and had two miscarriages from natural conception. Dr Rispler was very thorough from the start. I started going to his office pre pandemic and although having your fertility treatments placed on hold was upsetting they have taken covid precautions very seriously which is important to me and my growing family. Dr Rispler is knowledgeable and was understanding when I needed a break from fertility treatments and was available when I was ready to start again. I was lucky enough to get pregnant after my first transfer although it was definitely more science then luck ;) The other office staff like Daysy and Perla have always been so accommodating. We felt very safe during the coronavirus pandemic. The clinic takes safety seriously. After trying for years to get pregnant, we were referred to Dr Rispler by our OBGYN. We wanted to try IUI, and Dr Rispler was very realistic with us about our chances. We tried two rounds of IUI, and then we decided it was time to try IVF after I turned 39. Dr Rispler is amazing. He is very knowledgeable, kind, and patient. The entire staff was very friendly and supportive throughout the process. In particular, Daysy helped me understand what to expect / what's normal / don't freak out, and she helped train my husband so he could overcome his fear of needles and give me shots (so many shots) at home. Perla helped us understand all of the financial / insurance / scheduling concerns. Most importantly, Perla and Daysy recognized our voices on the phone and made little comments to make us laugh. People say that not being stressed out helps with getting pregnant. Even though we had lots of stress, everyone at Innovative helped us stay calm and trust the process. They are willing to communicate with patients and listen to our concerns. We *never* felt like we were being pushed to do anything, only educated about what our options were and what the realistic outcomes might be. After one round of IVF (so many shots), we are 11 weeks pregnant (no more shots!) and have "graduated" from the clinic today! I hope my IVF failure at innovative fertility clinic and the lesson I learnt from them will help you make a better decision in selecting clinics and doing your IVF. Here is my story. I started my IVF cycle with an young egg donor through my agency in Aug 2021, all seemed to be good until the IVF completed and it ended up with NO embryos! I asked Dr Rispler why it failed, he told me one of the major reasons was poor egg quality, my egg donor had poor donation outcome in her previous cycle and he told me they did not like the egg donor at all and it was me insisting moving forward, which I was not aware of at all. First, they never disclosed that important fact to me or told me any potential risks of using that egg donor before IVF cycle. Second, they made the wrong assumption about me, they assumed both my agency and I knew that fact, which was not true at all. They blamed it was my agency's problem as they selected the wrong donor for me, isn't it always your responsibility to screen the right donor for your patients? I don't think any agency can make a medical decision. Third, they asked me to switch to the agency they worked before multiple times, so I gave it a try. Ironically, I found out the agency they recommended had very few repeat donors and they were some obvious disqualified donors you can't use at all (like 8+ donations) while they told me their clinic had very high criteria in selecting donors. If it's really high criteria, why did not you let me know your criteria at the beginning? As I picked up my medical records, I realized that my sperm testing was missing so I asked them, they told me they did not do sperm testing at all, but both Doctor and Nurse told me sperm was okay, I don't know how they made the conclusion without testing. They also miss genetic testing, which i don't know how risky the matching can be that way. The clinic is quite small, it's small enough to forget what their job is, sperm testing and genetic testing. They have very limited experience in IVF, you can check out their CDC ART success rate and compare with other clinics. Since it's small clinic, they also had very limited cases in 2018, it may be another reason why my IVF failed. I don't know how they got so many five star reviews online, when you select IVF clinics, success rate is way more important than 5 star reviews. People can lie, but their success rate won't. read more

This review is long overdue. I don't think anyone wants to start the journey with fertility treatment as it can be physically, emotionally, and financially stressful. If you're anything like me reading this you're likely looking for someone in a similar situation as you hoping to get data and stats to gauge what your success will be. While educating yourself I think is really important for this process I learned along our journey that its just as important to find a doctor and team that you feel comfortable with. For me, that was Dr. Rispler and his incredible team. I appreciated Dr. Rispler's straight forward approach to treatment and my options. It put me at ease knowing I didn't have to read between the lines and gave me in comfort in having clearly laid out options. This isn't to say that Dr. Rispler is cold by any means. There were moments when he sensed my uneasiness and without being prompted would tell they were things I didn't need to worry about. I feel especially thankful for the offices overall treatment of myself and my husband. We were treated as people with comprehensive approaches to everything we did. Wendy and Daysy are angels and patiently always answered all of my questions (I had A LOT). Wendy was my go to for all things fitness and Daysy always gave me real world scenarios. Special shout out to Daysy who took the time to always work with my fear of giving blood. You have to do this a lot and she was always super gentle and made sure I was comfortable and helped me eventually get over the fear. I was referred by my OB, to see Dr. Rispler in 2020. I'm over 40 I was told he was the best for my age group dealing with infertility. If I wanted a baby he was the one to help me get there. Dr Rispler was straight forward from the beginning he provided very clear advice which isn't always what you want to hear but I trusted his process and followed his lead unfortunately the first couple of tries weren't a success which had to do with other issues not directly with me. He figured out there was a medical concern my husband had to address. We put a plan together to get the results I wanted which a big fat positive. He removed a fibroid the was very persistent was a big issue in my case then transferred my embryo. This was a journey I must say just to get to a transfer and they never gave up and didn't let me give up until I was successful. I now have a beautiful rainbow baby boy now a year later. Dr. Rispler and his staff are caring, positive and extremely knowledgeable! I am so grateful to them for the success I had and thankful for the awesome service they provided me. It took me two years to get over this place. After poorly explained costs, and a lack of communication regarding procedures I was told "well you signed the contract" great...but that doesn't change the fact that things were not thoroughly gone over..(as I would learn is customary at other clinics in the area). Dr. Rispler almost makes you feel stupid by not explaining things and his staff is lacking in compassion and personality. I ended up taking my embryos to another clinic with Dr. A and was amazed at how much better things were. The headaches and stress from this place were not worth the money I dropped there. I would give this clinic 0 stars if I could. this has been the most stressful and frustrating experience of my entire life. I had my first cycle ever in this clinic and the beginning of the process seemed ok, I mean, it was my first time even doing this, so, I thought everything i went through was normal. I was explained very lightly how may med were going to be, I was given a pre-made calendar (same they give everyone) and I started on a very high does of hormones. i did not know if it was going to be a fresh insemination, or explained the process after that. During my follow up appointments i heard the ultra sound tech commenting that some eggs were too small and some others were almost ready. on the last ultra sound the doctor said the same that some eggs were ready but some were to small but the extraction was programmed for a couple of days later so he closed the appointment saying: pray to those eggs to grow. I thought it was weird, this is science, and there is a calculated window for this. The extraction happened on a Saturday, apparently that is they day they push all the extractions for, everything went well during the procedure and before I went home they told me they extracted 6 eggs, 3 were not ready, and the others wee probably too mature but they fertilized them anyway. 2 of the 3 embryos did not make it and the last one did not blast on the 5th day so it was discarded. Then I thought, wait, this was not the right window,but what do I know, right? I mean 3 immature eggs wasted. I came back on the 5th day for a follow up appointment and the doctor told me that the cycle did not work and that he recommended to get am egg donor, which I considered for a while, then I decided to go for a second opinion. In order to get a second opinion, I needed the medical history and here where nightmare part II started. I took them an entire month to release the medical history, I got all kind of excused. I finally got it and went to 2 different doctors who agreed that egg donor would give me a higher chance but they also thought they could try a different protocol and target more success. Now, my husband has the vasectomy so he had to had the sperm extracted and this clinic has the 2nd sample that was not used. we had to push my second cycle one month already because they have not cooperated AT ALL to release that sample. they said that the embryologist is the only one that releases the samples and he only goes there once a month!!! then they sent me the papers i need it to fill out and sent back with anticipation only to be told the day my husband and I were traveling outside the country that they needed the papers notarized because they had never had a case where the sperm was going to be transferred and transported to another lab. we already were at the airport. I reached out as soon as we got back to the States to be told that I had missed the window when the embryologist was coming so we had to plan for his next visit that they did not know when it was going to be. I had to push my second cycle one month because they kept changing the date they could do the release it and my new doctor did not want to take the risk. and he was not wrong, here we are 2 days before the date they gave to release the sperm and they have not cooperated to coordinate with the new lab, lies and lies over the phone, that they sent the paperwork already that the new lab lost it, blah blah blah, all lies. The magnitude of stress that this clinic has caused me is incalculable, i cannot sleep, i am constantly anxious, with migraines, wasting irreplaceable time, I am 43 every minute counts and it seems that this people are going to make me push the cycle another month. How irresponsible and unprofessional. Whit the mess they run in that office, I would not be surprised they totally screwed the window extraction for my first cycle. I am entitled to change clinics and to try another cycle somewhere else and to discard for now the idea of an egg donor, if that is the reason and this is all retaliation for my decision, then they should not be in business, it is an unethical behavior. Working with Dr Rispler and his staff was a wonderful experience! We have been patients of his for about 2.5 years. Last year we began IVF procedures and I am currently pregnant after our first embryo transfer. All of his office staff--Angela, Theresa, Candice, and Jackie--helped us so much throughout this emotional and challenging process! I loved that we quickly got to know everyone in the office, and it truly felt like a family setting--a different experience than friends who have gone to larger group practices and often see multiple doctors/nurses. The wonderful thing about Dr Rispler is that he gives you good, honest information. Up front. All the estimates he provided in terms of timing and success really ended up being accurate for our experience. Sometimes getting the facts can be a little hard to hear, and he definitely doesn't sugar coat things....but I would rather work with facts than over-positive non-facts. His office staff definitely helped assist us whenever possible with the finances--something we truly appreciate. There were some issues with our insurance coverage at different times and both Dr Rispler and his staff (especially Jackie) went above and beyond to help us fight some denied claims. I gave 5 stars above but if I could have selected 4.75 stars I would, only for a few minor details: There were a couple of instances where we received varying information about dosing or medications, but it wasn't anything that wasn't cleared up with some questioning. Also, there was one instance where there was confusion over copayment amount--and we were overcharged. But this was at the beginning of the year when deductibles hadn't been met yet and insurance is always a confusing thing. When we pointed out the issue, we were quickly reimbursed for the difference. I highly recommend Dr Rispler and his staff. Any advice I would give for working with his practice is advice I would give any patient going through any complicated medical issue with any office: stay on top of the details, take good notes, and don't be afraid to ask questions. read more

I have a beautiful 2 year old and am 22 weeks pregnant. That's the result of the work of Dr. Rispler and his team. I was referred to this office by a nurse who was also successful here and I know medical personnel that work in other fertility offices, but I chose this one. Dr. Rispler is very straight forward and honest, which you need when you are on this journey. He told us what was happening and what we had to do and we trusted him. Even when we didn't know what exactly was going in, we know now that all of his decisions were made in our best interests. There is no exact one size fits all when tackling infertility. What I appreciate is that Dr. Rispler has the expertise to guide you in the right direction. I also like that I see Dr whenever needed, you don't get handed off with multiple doctors in this office which gives this a more personalized and caring environment. In addition to having an expert doctor, his staff has always been helpful and kind. My husband and I began our care at Innovative Fertility Center Feb. 2019. Dr. Rispler and his staff always took the time we needed to go over any testing, costs associated, medication, procedures, etc. We never felt rushed or emotions dismissed. Over a year spent seeing the Innovative Fertility Team, and we are finally pregnant with our first baby. Dr. Rispler is thorough and informative, and I believe the facility has a high success rate for pregnancy through IVF/ FET. In the beginning it was hard to build relationships with the team there, as you are new and still learning so much of the process, but as you go through the exams and procedures and really take huge steps through the journey, you learn that the team members are excited to go through it with you, they are happy just like you and want to celebrate all the good times you may experience. Dr. Berger and his staff are incredible!!! I did two rounds of egg freezing (age 35) at Innovative Fertility Center and couldn't be happier with this clinic. Parking is easy, wait times are short. Extremely convenient location. I loved that each time I went into the office I saw the same doctor, same nurse, the staff knew me by name, were always friendly. Most fertility clinics are overwhelmingly large and you're just another number to the clinic. The staff doesn't know you well, you see different doctors & nurses each time, and the 1:1 doctor patient relationship is nonexistent. This is not the case with Innovative Fertility Center. Dr. Berger is the kindest human and explains the process in detail. Nurse Daysy is awesome & always sends follow up emails, ensures you know the next step in your fertility journey, and everything is explained to you in detail. If you want to go through this experience alone (without your partner) this is the place for you. This office, and Dr. Joshua Berger, put COVID before EVERYTHING else. During our consultation, Dr. Berger assured us that regardless of COVID, my wife would be able to join me during our insemination. As time went on and got closer to the insemination, I found myself begging them through email, phone, and in person, to let her in with me. I felt so annoying and like a burden to them. Keep in mind we are both triple vaxed. Finally, they said they would let her join. This is a huge life experience and the least they could do is be understanding about the fact that I do not want to get inseminated without my partner in the room. This was just the tip of the iceberg. I ended up getting pregnant with an IUI but we found out during the first ultrasound that it was just an empty sac in my uterus. Dr. Berger said I would start bleeding soon and have a miscarriage, which I did. This was devastating, and we never got an email or phone call to see how I am I feeling emotionally or physically. I kept telling them through email how much physical pain I am in, but no follow-up was taken to see if things are resolving normally. A week after, I started bleeding like crazy and passing out. I asked if this is normal and they said it could be my period. That weekend I was rushed to the ER in an ambulance due to having an Ectopic pregnancy (baby in the fallopian tube). Because of their lack of care and follow-up (pregnancy tests after the miscarriage to see if things were cleared), my fallopian tube ruptured and had to be surgically removed. I was days away from bleeding to death. Once I informed them of this disaster, Dr. Berger called me to basically cover his ass. His words were along the lines of "everything was looking fine and we did everything we could." No, you didn't. You didn't make sure my miscarriage was successfully over and that my body was clear of any type of pregnancy. I almost died and was barely able to walk and move positions after the surgery. That was the only follow-up they did as a clinic. No other emails or calls to see how I am doing. To top it all off, after this whole situation, when I asked them to mail me my medical documents (that I am entitled to), they robotically said "once you pay the $50 fee, we will mail them to you." Not only do you almost kill me and not care, but you try milking money out of me one last time. Other things to consider about this clinic: * Most of the medical explanations are not coming from the doctor himself, they're coming from Daysy, his assistant. Not one email was directly from Dr. Berger. * Dr. Berger would quickly explain things after each ultrasound, and if I asked a question he had apparently already answered, I would first get a blank stare then a very rude and rushed response. This was such a traumatizing experience. I'm only 30 and went from excitement to fear around trying to get pregnant again. BTW do your research on this doctor before going. I wish I did.
