I have not reviewed sooner because I don't like writing negative reviews because I know it can hurt a business but I also believe we have a responsibility to other consumers to share our experiences so they can make informed decisions. I was assured that this unit would IMPRESS but all it has done is disappoint. It does not heat or cool this VERY small space. Epic was called and came out twice only to tell me that it was working properly. We are faced with using space heaters, fans and a portable AC to find any relief from the cold and heat in the winter and summer, respectively. I just find it disappointing that more locally owned businesses don't stand behind their work or their product. Are we a society that focuses on greed and not quality? My message to those consumers who might be considering EPIC, would be to keep on looking, you'll thank me later.

Nearly a month passed while the errant part wended its way towards Epic. We endured sub-zero temperatures while playing musical space heaters to keep parts of the house warm without tripping breakers. We were promised our repair the Tuesday after Xmas. Epic managed to get the furnace repaired just before Xmas eve. Thanks for making our Xmas merry and WARM!!

I have been having soot on my siding for the last few years from the gas fireplace Falco's…read moreinstalled for me. I took pictures a couple years ago and sent them to the service manager. He told me that was the way it was suppose to be. I have cleaned the siding myself or hired someone to power wash it for me. I I have it serviced by Falco's. I did the Preventive maintenance Oct. 23, 2024, just like I have in the past. After the Preventive Maintenance this year the soot was the worst I have eve seen . This year I took pictures and sent them to "Frost Fire Service" and asked if that was normal. He replied immediately and and said absolutely not. I made an appointment for him to come to my home. In fact I showed those pictures to my 101 year old dad and he took one look at it and said "Incomplete combustion". The owner of Frost Fire Service said, "your dad is right." He took my fireplace apart and showed me several things they missed or were doing wrong in their Preventive maintenance. Among other things: This is from Frost Fire's Annual Service and Cleaning: REPAIRED ELECTRODE SPARK CABLE END GASKET ON BOTTOM OF BURNER AT VENTURI TUBE, ADJUSTED MANIFOLD PRESURE AS IT WAS TO HIGH AT 4.9-IN WATER COLUMN, AND PROPERLY POSITIONED He also noted Because they did not use "BEST BUILDING PRACTICES WOULD HAVE HAD THIS TERMINAL CAP INSTALLED 24-IN BELOW THE VINYL SOFFIT INSTEAD OF 18-IN ESPECIALLY SEEING HOW THE NEAREST VENTILATION SOURCE IS 28-IN FROM CENTER OF CAP. He also suggested' "A VINYL SIDING STANDOFF ON THE EXHAUST TERMINAL SHOULD BE CONSIDERED". since it wasn't installed properly to begin with. I once more took pictures and the invoice with everything explained to FALCO's. I just wanted them to remove the soot this year because it was so bad and the tech caused problem.. Without looking at all the pictures I had or even coming to my home to look at it the service manager said it wasn't their responsibility. He said I should have called sooner. I clean the siding every year so there was nothing to see until after the stove was started and it accumulated like it did every year. The only time I am out where the soot is it is when I put my AC cover on in the fall and take it off in the spring. I turn off the gas fireplace every spring and have them service and start it in the fall In fact right after the service was done by them I called thinking the flame was too high. They emphasized it was done properly and if the service man came back there would be another service charge. I cancelled the appointment I made to have him come back because their answer is always "that's the way it is suppose to be and it was done right." Didn't need another $200.00+ service call. I notice a lot of other people have the same reaction from Falco's. All I was asking from Falcos was for them to clean the soot mess their tech created. I didn't want anything else. . i just want them to send someone out to clean my siding and soffit. There was a silver ling to this mess. I found Ryan the owner of "Frost Fire Service" that cares about the customer and does a thorough job for Preventive maintenance. I watched him just as I have watched Falco's tech. They were in and out and checked boxes they did things they didn't. I was a loyal customer for over 30 years with Falco's. We loved their nursery and they installed a free standing gas fireplace for us before. We got parts from them "thermo something". The pictures show all the soot on the side of the house and soffit, the soot on the windows of the fireplace that accumulated in just 6 months. It shows debris that shouldn't be there. burn from gasket that needed replace that should have been noticed. How the logs were placed by Falco and how they should of been place to avoid covering up "air holes?"

So I called and asked if they install tankless water heaters, to which I was told they do. Peter came out and gave us an estimate. Yesterday a crew came out and did the installation. The crew was two installer and two electricians. The crew was outstanding- very polite and respectful. They actually took an hour less than was estimated. When we received the bill via email it was less than estimated. When I called to pay over the phone, I asked about the lower price. I was told it was due to a rebate on the tankless water heaters.

Very friendly and personable, fair pricing, showed up on time and they were ready to work. I'm glad I met Chad over at Valley because when one of my guys backed my truck into the overhead power line running to the garage from the house, I called Chad (he had given me his cell phone at one point so I could get a hold of him personally if I had any issues) and he was at my customers house 30 minutes later and had it fixed soon after. Needless to say they made me look good to my customer and because of how prompt and professional they were my customer was at ease. The 2 electricians who showed up were very courteous and accommodate our request to wear masks. They quickly assessed the problem and fixed it within 15 minutes. Main issue…read moreI have is that the wiring junction box cover had been removed and the wiring pulled from the box, not a problem. But upon completing the repair the wiring was left out of the cord grip going into the box and just wire nutted so that the cover could not be put back on, hence leaving the wire cover off. The burner box cover was left off, and the plugs for the A/C unit were not plugged back in and the new motor wires had not been put back through the cord grip that goes into the control panel (they were just put the the hole in the box). I know it was a very busy time of year for Ron due to the two week 95 degree temps and everyone calling, but this is not an excuse for a business owner to do incomplete work. He should have tested the whole system including the A/C whether he had worked on it or not. For crying out loud that is why my wife called him for in the first place, she did not know that the furnace fan needed to be replaced, just that the A/C had stopped working. Upon returning from work that evening, and a quick inspection of the furnace, I called and him and he promptly came back over which was completely unexpected but great service. When he arrived I had already fixed all of the items that he had not completed. Prior to leaving he obviously was upset and was not very polite with his departing comments. I mentioned I had repaired the items he forgot to complete and he just angrily said, "good" and stormed off to his truck and left. My wife mentioned later that she had asked if he needed anything and she said his comment was, "just stay out of my way and this will get done much sooner". Obviously not wanting anyone to watch his work or check it prior to his leaving. Just poor workmanship all the way around. Due to his quick response to the call this might not have been a problem if the home owner wasn't capable of fixing this themselves. But I was not in town and thought it would be best to have someone look at it prior to the weekend when parts are available. My mistake for not asking my wife to stick with some of the bigger businesses in town that were a few days out for service. Not saying that this company is not capable of making a repair, but I won't be using them in the future.

The pump cost $150, so according to my rudimentary calculation, they charged me over $800 for about 20 minutes of work. You might want to go with a company that charges $150-200/hr, which is industry standard for the Spokane area, rather than these guys. Receipts are attached.
