Spokane Plumbing and Heating came to our rescue yesterday (New Years Eve) and if we could give them 10 stars out of 5, we absolutely would! They got us through an extremely sketchy situation with so much kindness and compassion. Our kitchen sink backed up late in the evening on 12/30 and they got back to me within minutes when I reached out through yelp after 11pm. We all assumed that it was a standard clog in the sink and that it would be easy to tackle, and so they squeezed us in between jobs the next day. BOY DID WE ASSUME WRONG. My husband and I live in a house that was flipped right before we moved in and the seller before us cut some pretty significant corners to save them money, but we had no idea what was in store for us. Spokane Plumbing and Heating came over and quickly assessed the situation and tried to snake the pipe. They noted immediately that some of the plumbing under the sink was put in incorrectly and that our pipes were a 1/2" too small, but we didn't think it would turn a simple job into a 7+ hour ordeal. The small snake didn't work. The medium snake didn't work. They left and got a brand new snake which they thought would get the job done. It did not. In fact, it got stuck. They had to pull out the dishwater and install another access point directly into the pipe so the snake would (in theory) not get stuck. This theory did not pan out, and the snake got stuck and they couldn't free it up. That's when they had to start cutting into the ceiling in the basement to access the pipes, where they uncovered an absolute nightmare. Before flipping the house, not only did our seller use pipes that were too small among other issues, but they also piped them at an UPWARD SLOPE, causing the gunk to completely block the pipe solid. They cut the pipe out and drained the sludge from it, then reinstalled it and went to finish snaking it because surely that would be the fix, right? Wrong. The snake went through the portion of pipe they removed only to hit another clog which could not be moved. They had to go back down to the basement, cut into more ceiling, and do the same sort of process again. The second time they cut into the ceiling, they found even MORE issues. It was absolutely insane. Thankfully, that time it worked and they were able to fix the clog and put it all back together for us, tidied up, collected all their trash, and left the house looking essentially the way it looked when they arrived, minus the holes in the basement ceiling which we need to rip open anyway, so it's kind of moot anyway. The reason I wish I could review them at 10/5 stars is because they did everything I described above and they never once stopped being considerate and compassionate to the situation. We were absolutely horrified by what they discovered and with each passing hour it seemed to be getting worse and worse, but they kept reassuring us that they would not leave us hanging and that they would be able to figure out the problem and fix it. They also reiterated over and over that this wasn't our fault and that we had been totally screwed over by the seller, which really helped to hear. I spent probably 5 out of 7+ hours watching them work and they never lost their sense of humor, even when the job continued to become more and more frustrating. They happily educated me when I asked about a million questions to try to understand what was happening. They could have easily become annoyed and irritated with the situation but they didn't do either of those things in a way that was directed at me. They were also extremely pet friendly, and as a house with a lot of little fur babies that is always a bonus. Our kitties became fast friends with them. This took a simple snake job and turned it into something which took 2-3 people (2 to start with and then they had to call for backup) over 7 hours to complete. My husband and I just sat helplessly watching the hours tick by and wondering how we would even begin to cover the bill, but at the end of the evening when everything was said and done, they only charged us a fraction of what they normally would have charged. They said they couldn't in good conscience charge us for what their base rate would be because of the situation, which seriously was a life saver. I have no words for how grateful we are that, now, of all times, a small business chose to take a loss on the job to save us from an astronomical bill. They extended unbelievable kindness and compassion to us and our situation. In short, if you need a job done reach out to Spokane Plumbing and Heating. I'm not kidding, they are going to be the first people I call for any plumbing and heating in the future forever after yesterday. First things first, This company is one of honesty and integrity. Go with them, no second thought. They will take care of any problem you have, will be transparent with you about what they are doing, and charge you an extremely fair rate for their work. There's no corporate nonsense, no up charges just to make an extra buck. Just honest guys out to help people and earn a living doing so. During a home renovation while installing a new vanity in my over 100 year old house, I managed to break a CPVC water line. Had to turn the whole houses water off to stop the flood. It was already late into Saturday and both my fiancé and I thought we were going to have to go without any water till Monday (which all the other emergency plumper's let us know would be the case.) My fiancé called Sam after calling 15 other plumbers and right away he said that even though he had two other jobs ahead of us, that he would be out to our house that day no matter what. Sure enough they came around 8 at night, worked till 9:45, and had me and my fiancés water back on that night. They even cut us a break on the price. 500 bucks for 3 techs, parts, on a Saturday after hours. That's insanely low people, like ridiculously low given the circumstances. They did that out of compassion for our situation. That kind of neighborliness, human decency. DISHONEST!!!! Our A/C unit went out in the home we recently purchased. It was too small for the house anyways so we new it would be something that needed to be done. Just didn't realize it would be a couple months after moving in. So they replaced the entire unit which was needed. We then, a month later, couldn't get our furnace working. Called them up and they came our said the changed the pressure switch and it didn't fix the problem. Went back to look again and came back to tell me, "It's not good news, the heat exchange is cracked." After just having them replace our A//C unit for 5k now it was furnace for 4k. We decided we needed a second opinion. We had another company come out and said they were going to change the pressure switch too. He also checked the heat exchange and said he found no crack. I couldn't believe it. This time it had to be ordered and we waited a week instead of one hour that it took John I think his name was. He changed it and it works! $300 compared to $4k for a young family is a huge difference. We were told by the honest company that John could have used a universal pressure switch but that if he did it's possible it didn't work. As a professional I would expect them to use parts that are specific to our unit though and not LIE and tell me the heat exchange is cracked when it isn't. read more

We recently had Justin come out to help get our grill set up. Our exterior gas line had a piece stuck and we couldn't connect the grill to it. When Justin got there he was able to immediately get the line set up properly and connect the grill to it. That is good service. However, this review isn't about simply "good" service. This is about excellent service. Because not only did Justin get it connected, but when we started testing the grill one of the burners wouldn't light. It turned out the igniter wasn't working on it. We had a wire that was broken and Justin quickly diagnosed the problem and was able to fix it right then and there. The entire time he was friendly and helpful, making sure everything I needed was taken care of. And when he gave me the bill at the end of it I was seriously impressed how reasonable the price was. Because of this I had him take a look at a few other plumbing questions I had and he helped answer them for me. I'm very impressed with this company and plan on being a regular customer from this point forward. read more

My AC broke in the middle of this heat wave we're having, so I texted/email several companies around and this place responded within half an hour. Didn't receive anything back from four other businesses I contacted. The owner showed up on day one and found the thermostat had broken, so we replaced that and he didn't charge me anything for using my own replacement part, he did full checks and install. The system unfortunately did have multiple failures, self induced. I cracked the outside cooling lines while trying to level out my outside unit three days before hand. They got me an appt. the next day with John and fixed the lines, cleared out the moisture and oil from the lines, and filled the Freon. John was friendly and patient while I looked over his shoulder and asked lots of questions. System works beautifully now for something 15 years old. They are very approachable, friendly, Pro-Veteran, and affordable. I would recommend these guys to anyone who needs AC work done. read more

Our boiler attached hot water tank sprung a leak in our newly remodeled basement. We called Spokane Plumbing and Heating and Sam, who was completing a job, said he'd drop by and take a look when he finished that job. Sam showed up at 8:30 PM on Thursday and told us the tank would need to be replaced, he was familiar with the setup (others through the years were not and tried to sell us a new boiler and tank) Sam called us with a good price, ordered the tank as it had to be shipped and three of his crew showed up for the install. The crew was personable, professional, and completed the job in a few hours although it required an extensive plumbing rework. It is so refreshing to do business with a contractor who knows what they are doing and doesn't over charge. We will be calling Spokane Plumbing for our HVAC and plumbing needs in the future without reservation and recommend them to our family and friends. read more

I highly recommend Spokane Plumbing & Heating. They are reasonable, professional and efficient. The drains in my utility room and downstairs bathroom had backed up in the past and had been cleared by another company. When I contacted Spokane Plumbing & Heating they were able to send someone to assist within a couple of hours. The clog was cleared quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately clearing the clog did not last long as there were other issues. They quickly returned to my home to determine the cause utilizing their plumbing camera. After determining the actual cause they provided the necessary services to resolve the issues as economically as possible. We had been having some plumbing problems and were in a jam to get it taken care of before the holiday weekend. My husband had started the project but got into a tough spot. Sam & Justin were going to help us on New Year's Eve, but got caught up on a tough job. They knew we were in a bind so they contacted us and said they would be out the next day/New Year's Day. They arrived promptly-actually early. They wore shoe covers and masks to comply and keep us all safe. They took care of our plumbing problems! Our old water heater failed 2 days before Christmas and not only did Spokane Plumbing & Heating respond almost immediately (10 minutes), but they got an almost exact replacement ordered and installed in one day. After what I'm sure was a really long day of thawing peoples pipes out in sub-zero temperatures Sam, John and Mike came out and installed it, and cleaned up the mess in just a couple of hours. It was a very professional looking Job and looked better than the old installation. All three guys were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and informative. They made this complicated job look easy. I used this company to have a new hot water tank installed. i would highly recommend them, and if I ever have another plumbing need this is the company I would call. They were very professional, friendly, & honest. They took great care to make sure no damage occurred when bring in the new and taking out the old water heater up and down my very narrow stairs. Our water heater needed replacing. My husband decided to replace it on its own. We love him but he's not a plumber. We had been working with another local company whom had done the initial install and design of our HVAC system. The company name starts with an Hu. They decided not to honor their design or warranty. The heater again would not turn on. Called Spokane Plumbing and Heating expecting to leave a message as it was after 5:00 pm. Sam arrived onsite that evening and was able to get out heat running again within a couple of hours. He also gave us some useful tips to hopefully resolve some ongoing issues with the system.
