My wife picked a quiche that came with three sides that she kindly shared with me. I opted for a bowl of tomato soup with cheese bread. Both dishes were warm and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our sides of Asian salad, fresh fruit and Greek salad with the latter our favorite. The combination of broccoli, feta cheese and dressing was addictive. My tomato soup was the best also full of flavor and very warming. The cheese bread was handy to sop up the remaining soup that escaped my spoon. The folks working there were quite friendly and helpful. The dining area had plenty of room and tables were quickly bussed whenever someone left. A great lunch spot.

Powerscourt Terrace is a nice little cafe establishment in the heart of Enniskerry…read more There are a few things which I wanted to note for anyone not local to the area attempting to navigate here: 1: you're going to have to follow signs, as you'll have basically have zero cellphone reception until you get into powerscourt directly. 2: you do have free wifi in powerscourt, but still no cell signal - at least from 3. The place has some nice choices as far as food - there are plenty of vegetarian options and effectively everything is designed around the concept of "main + 3 salads". I'm not saying do the sad vegetarian option of "you must have salad/you must get a cobb salad without chicken", either. This main + salads idea is a concept all over Ireland, essentially - a main course for one price, and a separate price for that main course with 3 sides. Sadly, the concept basically requires the salads - as you'll commonly find that the main course is a bit small, even for Euro sized meals. This doesn't mean you'll be missing anything, though - as thankfully the salads happen to be absolutely excellent. I happened to try an Edamame and Chickpea salad as one of the choices I had, and it was pretty well made. To complement that was a cooked broccoli, feta and tomato salad along with an asian inspired noodle salad - all of these went perfectly with the spinach quiche I selected. Wifey had the Edamame Chickpea salad as well, but chose a carrot salad along with an awesome lentil loaf - all complemented with an Elderflower drink. Meals are rotated, so I'm not honestly sure if you would see these same main course options as it probably rotates throughout any given day or week. I would suspect the salads probably stay the same, as I noticed the same options in Avoca/Arklow/Gorey at a number of restaurants as well. What does this all add up to? Well, it boils down to an experience like this: You have pretty good food choices that are pretty well made, which are noticeably pricey. All the while you eat these whether indoors or outdoors wasps are going to try to eat your meal with you, so I sincerely hope nobody going here has a wasp allergy. This goes on with hilariously terrible wifi coverage. It was 38 EUR for the two of us. So basically tourist establishment + pricey but nice food and nice places to sit. Oh, and make sure you don't mix it up with the fast food equivalent just next door to the actual cafe.

Their is a nice big outside seating area for dining in the summer. It's wasp city tho. so if ur scared of the evil yellow demons like me, a seat inside is a must!! If not enjoy the beautiful outdoors as the setting is so pretty. The food is avoca standard, which for those who haven't had is tip top notch. Quality ingredients used to make beautiful dishes packed full of flavour. The chefs working in this cafe know what they're at. Last time I was there was for breakie. I had simple scrambled egg and toast, but my oh my. When a chef is good he/she makes even the most boring, simple dishes into a memorable experience. They were delicious. Fluffy, buttery, scrambleyy goodness. Yum. Thinking back on them and I want them again. Mum had the blueberry macadamia nut pancakes with maple and crème fraîche. She loved them. She usually doesn't like pancakes or french toast when we're out because they "over cinnamon" them, but she agreed these pancakes were scrumptious because they hadn't been messed with. I thought the macadamia nuts were a very alluring addition. Not a bad word to say about this place. The surrounding shops are commendable. Such as the furniture shop has lovely little bits and bobs. Very enjoyable potter after a delish breakfast/lunch :)

Salmon salad I ordered was amazing - freshly picked, perfectly seasoned, and salmon was cooked perfectly. Vegetable soup with bread was simple yet tasty. The menu seems to change frequently - and the place filled up quickly for lunch with people waiting so I'd suggest you make reservations. Also dessert and bread they had were amazing - better than some of the "best" places in Dublin or anywhere else. The place is in the gardens - so you will get to enjoy the view of the garden if you get a table near windows.

Our disappointment was in a goat cheese appetizer, which we believed to be a salad, but which turned out to be whipped goat cheese in a wine glass. Also, we were not thrilled with the dessert. Still, our server was extremely kind and helpful, and just sitting in that space is deeply restorative.

Fun little roadside café in world famous Hollywood (Ireland)!…read more We got here at about 1pm on a Saturday and the place was packed. Definitely a good sign. Only had to wait about ten minutes before getting seated giving us some time to peruse the random things (hates, postcards, etc. ) they had for sale. We got fish and chips, mushroom soup and a turkey sandwich for lunch. Everything was terrific, I loved the soda bread that came with the soup especially. Warm and delicious with a little bitter spread on top. The service was great, very friendly and helpful. Definitely a gem and worth a stop if you're in the area! Don't forget to get a couple baked goods on your way out, the brownie was terrific!

I get it- it's a tourist trap, and a nice one, but you should know going in that that is what it is. The food is good though. So you're not paying for crap. There is lots of shopping here, as well as expensive food-clothes, dishes, soaps- just about anything you can think of, and there are flowers outside for sale. It's pretty. The toilets are nice. It's huge- so it's not a quiet place at all. I don't think I'd go back. I like a smaller, quieter type of place- but for some people I'm sure it's perfect.
