This is a small and cozy dining establishment. We sat by the fireplace and had breakfast. The service was friendly. The coffee was good but nothing over the top. The potato cakes were ok but the avocado served on top was not all the way ripe and therefore a little hard and not very flavorful. Holy. Shit. I rarely curse but finding this gluten free goldmine of glorious pancakes was like a blessing of the saints. The portion sizes kind of seem small but that could be because my girlfriend and I split everything and it was basically a couple of bites from each other's dishes. We got the blueberry lemon pancakes, and a meat dish for the needed protein, so one savory and one sweet, the way breakfast is meant to be worshipped and devoured simultaneously. Beautiful, small place that gets packed very quickly. Interestingly enough I thought it was a French bistro, but I believe the owners hail from Ukraine as that is the country flag that was hung outside the shape if my world history learnings are correct. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast here. Quaint little restaurant with few tables. I enjoyed an order of French toast and added bacon on the side. I do wish the bacon side had 2 slices but it only comes with 1. My husband had French crepes with blueberry supreme topping and an order of the potato fritters, which is its own meal. I had hot tea and he had a cappuccino. Be reminded that this is a European sized cup not a giant American size. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals so much so that I left no scraps on my plate. My husband didn't finish his fritters that have avocado on them bc he's not a fan of avocado. He forgot to ask that they be removed. His fault. Very nice young staff. Lovely little small cafe! Quick service, and excellent coffee drinks. I tried their Omelet with mushrooms, cheddar, and baked ham. It was very good. Really enjoyed their toast as well - nothing spectacular, just well done. My other family members tried their Irish breakfast platter and their French Toast. No complaints at all from any of us. My cappuccino was perfect - they gave me sugar, but it was perfectly balanced. If you are in the area, highly recommend! A pretty solid and small spot for breakfast- definitely something "different" and light. It is very small so I recommend getting there early if you are in a rush. The coffee was fantastic and I would come for that alone. The food was hit or miss- the breakfast sandwich was great but the omelette was more of an omelette crepe with all the mixings inside. Came here for breakfast twice during a stay in Dublin. First time was Sunday morning and service was quite slow with my drink and food coming out way before my friends. Second time was Tuesday morning and the service was much quicker and I even noticed some local workers stopped in for breakfast. I tried the peanut butter and banana on brioche toast and it was very tasty and quite light without gobs of peanut butter which I appreciated. I also tried the potato fritters as recommended by the server and I enjoyed them thoroughly. Some of my friends mentioned their fritters were under seasoned but mine had a good balance of salt. The fritters also felt lighter than many traditional Irish breakfasts which was nice. The cafe itself is very small with just 6 or so tables and no area to wait so I would recommend getting here early on a weekend morning. The decor is charmingly eccentric. Yet another Camden Street on the Camden St/ Aungier St stretch that just has not gotten enough praise in the Yelpsphere! The setting here is really cosy and quaint with lots of quirky decorations, not to mention a mini juke box! #cutecutecutecuuuuuute I was bowled-over by what stupendous value the food is here: €4.60 for a full omelette and two slices of nice bread is definitely a quality deal! They do a 10% student discount too; a nice touch which never fails to put some pep in my step :) Last point: G.O.T.L. offers their little venue in the evenings after they shut to host private functions, with the only charge being the normal bill for whatever food was served, no rental charge at all! This was a nice little find. If i'm being honest I would have walked past this place a thousand times and not gone in. However I was with friends who recommended we go here for breakfast. It is a small Cafe just off the main street. It probably can only accommodate 20 people at a time. Their main thing is crepes which I did not have but my friend did- and they looked incredibly good. I went for the Irish Breakfast which was really good. It was clean fresh and didn't have all the grease you would normally expect from a small cafe. Very reasonable prices also- €7 for a breakfast. Instead of going to the normal brunch places, I recommend going here and getting a good wholesome meal! read more
