The town of Lancaster is actually huge, covering a big chunk of Western NY below Clarence, to the East of Depew and Cheekgtowaga. Its police force are absolutely awful, stopping you for anything and everything (even things you didn't do) to make revenue for the town. It contains the Village Of Lancaster, which is a cute and much smaller little place. When you're out in Lancaster, try eating at Good Tymes South, they have excellent burgers, and the Yelling Goat has some great Ethiopian Wings and all of their food is downright excellent. They have pretty tall people too, which is probably why it's known as Lankycaster.

The passport stamp, which is every library is handing out a unique sticker and after visiting all 37 libraries in Erie County, and if you are the first 1,000, will receive a gold library card. It goes from May 1 through Aug. 31., 2026. The library is cute and features a red Adirondak chair out front that is the perfect size for a giant. I also got a packet of bean seeds that will hopefully flourish in my garden. There was a sign near the entrance that also showed all the amazing things you can check out of this library that didn't include books. I noticed immediately the glockenspiel and a ukelele. Pretty cool. There is a large parking lot.

I picked up a packet of sunflower seeds for my husband, who is determined to grow them this year. They have a wonderful children's area. They also have a few bronze statues throughout the library, and when you first walk in there is one. There are also a couple meeting rooms. The selections were wonderful. The library also has a place for local people to sell items, as well as a small food pantry for those who need it. I will definitely be coming back to this library. I loved the vibes and the fact that they are accepting of all, and trying to take care of all and fill the need in their community. It is truly a beautiful, airy and welcoming space. It feels like home.
