Who would lie about that? Not me...not you. I explained I had a piece of mail with my son's name and my address in my car, but was told NO. Come back when you have something. Another day and I got in line again. Was second...woot! But the young lady in front of me was transferring from Ohio also and had been there several times before. She had a driving abstract - whatever that is - instead of a Drivers License and a interlock. I don't know what that is, and it was causing so many problems I hope I never find out. Someone finally came to help after about 20 minutes, and I was done in about 5 minutes. Exiting I saw the line had grown to about 25 people. So lucky me I didn't came later. I would probably have left and some again another day.

We went to the courthouse to change our daughters name (she is a minor). She was/is very excited…read moreabout the name change and once we got the paperwork we brought it back notarized the next morning and before the end of the day we got a call saying it was official and we could pick up the paperwork. We had no lines on either visit and when they called I explained I had told my daughter (she's 6) she would have to sign something. A wonderful employee named Gaila (I am sure that's spelled incorrectly-sorry) made this even more special by asking our daughter some questions and getting her more excited.. thank you!!! From this staff and the judge that doesn't let these things pile up-- good work! I am from San Diego and the stories you hear about wait time with any government office is not an exaggeration so I am shocked on how smooth it is here. I miss my hometown but NOT the lines and trying to make sure you get to the right person. This experience and previous ones at this courthouse have been amazing! This is a pretty run-down Northern Kentucky suburb which is a bit like stepping back in time. I'm not saying that Cincinnati is a very fancy city by any means but you do feel like you go back 10 or 20 years in time when you cross into Northern Kentucky. Newport is one of the Heartland towns up here in nky along with Covington, and I like coming here for Dixie Chili mainly, which is really awesome, but Starlight has a very different opinion and she totally freaked out when she came here with me in a way that I've never seen her freak out before. She did not appreciate what she thought was somebody coming to actually attack me. It took her quite a while to recover from it. I will never forget it.

Their automated phone system is absolutely horrible and no one in any department answers the phone. But when I realized the traffic office was open until 8:00 I jumped for joy and ran down to see them! There I had a no line pain free experience with a very pleasant woman. Get those tickets in on time before they double!!! P.S. They don't take Visa, or a lot of other cc, but they will take a check? So weird.

I moved from out of state and have been trying to get my car title transferred to Ohio for over 2…read moremonths now. I have been through 2 temporary plates and am unable to get another extension. Here's why. I called the clerks office today, as my temporary plate is expiring soon. They told me they've had my title since the last week in July! I never received a phone call to tell me that it arrived. That's because someone wrote down the wrong phone number! In the system it's correct and then someone wrote it down with a single digit that was incorrect! So I planned to then go get it and be done with this process. NOPE! I'm just NOW being told I need a form signed since apparently I need the presence of my co-signer. Not ONCE was I told that they would need to be present (they live in another state!) OR that this form would need to be signed and notarized. I'm so irritated with this process and if you are able to use another office, I would. Communication stinks and I'm not being informed of all I need to do.

Only a 3/5 because I was told by two different sources that they should have been able to help me…read more I'd just gotten out of court for a name change. I'd been given all the paperwork I needed and was told to head straight to the BMV since it was close by. But after being turned away at the door (they only accept so many people in the lobby at once), checking in online, waiting, finally being allowed in, waiting again for my number to be called, finally getting to a person, filling out a page of paperwork and handing it over, I was then told I had to process my name change with Social Security first. Of course social security is by appointment only and seemed to think the BMV should've been able to help me either way. God forbid I get everything done at once. But I have to say that the woman I spoke with here was very kind and helpful in the way she answered all of my questions. Apparently if you're military you can accomplish everything over the phone and online. So that's what I will do in the future!

I came back in with exactly what they told me. I waited 2.5 hours!! And when I got to the desk this very extremely rude lady told me that what they told me was incorrect. Did not apologize and just pushed my stuff back at me to call the next person. I have been here twice now and have never had worst experiences at a DMV In my entire life.
