I expected more and was pretty underwhelmed with the quality of the ribeyes and porterhouses. I got some brisket to smoke but it turned out to be grisly. They take food stamps here. Was looking for bones to make my own bone broth but local stores didn't carry it. Someone suggested Hamilton Meats. Was also looking for chicken & liver or other organ meats to feed my dog. The HM people are nice and helpful. HM suggested 40 lb frozen chicken quarters, ground up (including bones & skin), specific for dog food; & I asked them to include 4 (6oz i think) slices with the chicken. much more cost effective & fresher than what i could get at warehouse prices, my dog loves it. Just call 2-3 days before so they can check stock & bring it out of the freezer & into the frig so they can grind it up (additional fee). They also sell other fresh meats, sausages, frozen seafood & from what i hear they will do butchering. read more

Recently attended a wedding and they served filets and chicken from Hamilton Meats. I don't eat the red meat, but my daughter and son and everyone at my table actually went on and on about how incredibly tender it was and absolutely delicious! The chicken was very tender and fresh. It is hard for 200 people to all like the meat served and it has to come from a pretty fabulous place for this to happen!! Kudos to Hamilton meats for this small local butcher shop to provide such excellence in such quantity!! I agree there is no place for politics in business but after all we all live in America for freedom of speech and opinion and hopefully we are all above allowing what our politics to personally influence our thoughts and behavior. I go for the quality of the meats, not the decor. I thought it was uncalled for to attack the establishment because a previous owner was proud of our president of the United States. They have amazing steaks and we love the sausage. We have been very pleased with everything we have purchased here.

Great filets! And you can get other meats there as well. I strongly recommend their hot sausage at the holidays for sausage balls. The staff is always smiling and friendly. I cannot recommend this place enough. We get filets from here at least once a month throughout the spring and summer and into the fall. Ignore the 1 star reviews. I'm not sure how anyone could complain about this place. My husband and I love going there for steaks and when other stores was completely sold out of meat or selling things that really didn't look like meat during the grocery shortage because of the virus, Hamilton Meats shared what they had and even limited customers not to be mean but to make sure everyone at least had something on their table. I have done business with Hamilton Meats for many years. Recently it has changed and not for the better. I have no idea if there has been a change of ownership but something has gone very wrong. Our most recent order of two whole loins of NY Strip steak was picked up. When we arrived home the $250.00 order came out to 9 pounds including the packaging. That works out to over $27.00 per pound! What!!!! We returned the next day to find out what was going on. The man at the counter informed us he had been running a 204 temperature and had made a mistake. He said he was still very ill and felt badly as he handed us another 10 pounds of meat. This still came out to over $19.00 per pound. He tried to brush it off as the amount of fat that had been trimmed from the steaks. That is still double the price quoted or the cuts of meat were 1/2 fat to begin with. Either way it was misrepresentation and wrong. If I had not come back to confront them would they have called me to correct the issue on their own initiative? Also why was someone so sick processing my food? Rather than argue with someone who was completely unarmed for an intelligent discussion I took my leave and counted the overcharge up to a lesson learned. End result is Hamilton Meats has lost a long time cash paying customer due to what amounts to in my opinion risky sanitary procedures, shorting orders, and overcharging. read more
