If you haven't been to the farmers daughter in a long time, things have changed to my surprise it was still in business. Hadn't been there five years before Covid so it had been over 11 years. They have doubled or tripled in size. We lucked out and got there at 1:30. I believe they open at 11:30 on Saturday and we hit at a perfect time we got seated. We had our drink order within a minute of being seated, the lady explained everything we waited 20 minutes and was served our meat and all our sides for those of you not familiar with the restaurant. You are served family style in case you don't know exactly what family style means is that they bring a bunch of different sides to you get to pick the meats two of them per table and they come on platters. we happen to get pork chops and fried chicken. The pork chops had a dark gravy that was almost barbecued and was a little spicy so our table didn't quite care for those so they went with the country fried steak in a second helping of fried chicken. It got busier and the fried chicken was a bit dry the second time better to do chicken salad than to eat hot although I do like piping hot fried chicken! Side dishes vary 7 to 9 different sides. They automatically bring to the table that carrot soufflé is one of our favorites. I've yet to replicate. They have Yukon gold mashed potatoes, gravy beans, and whatever beans of the day,cream corn, green beans, corn salad, fresh rolls, and fresh skillet cornbread with delicious rail butter served on a slab and room temperature so it's easy to spread. There are several meats to choose from catfish and pork chops and fried chicken buttermilk chicken, which wasn't served on Saturday but is awesome. There were pork chops, country ham there was boiled cabbage, and the time before there were pickles and apple butter and cottage cheese years ago, so their sides vary but the carrot soufflé is still wonderful. My spouse and I eaten at the Farmer's Daughter with other relatives in early 2025. It was our first visit and overall we enjoyed the experience.Due to being invited we allowed our relatives select the serving options. All dishes are served in small plates and you can choose what item you want. The second time we went around November 2025, my spouse and I selected the items off the menu we were available. We definitely ordered the catfish, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, creamed corn (we didn't like this), cornbread stuffing came out on the tray along with a few other items we were not really interested. This establishment allows for the meat and dessert selection. All remaining vegetables are delivered whether or not you want them. I don't have any photos but will include next time. read more

What a wonderful meal we had at The Farmer's Daughter Restaurant today. The food was high quality with fresh farm-grown vegetables and ingredients! This is country cooking at its finest! Sides- Mac/Cheese overcooked, cabbage just ok, a little dry, soup beans got cold quick, mash potato's runny tasted awful served with white gravy which is a no-no, if you know you know, corn ok, fried squash good, cornbread salad good, carrot casserole just weird. Corn bread and rolls were baked well. Dessert- Strawberry Shortcake no real strawberries just syrup of cake, bread pudding was sweet and would be really good if served warm. Service was slow. No to go boxes allowed. We saw people stuffing food in zip lock bags and containers. $20 per person flat. They have no ATM so they send everyone across the street for DG to pay the fee's. Serving with plastic wear. No mirrors in bathrooms. The big fireplace is nice. A cheaper version of a Crackle Barrel. We were so hoping this would a true favorite for us since we drove 1.5 to come here. The Market next door is wonderful and I would come back just to shop there. read more

Very disappointing. First of all, no debit/credit cards accepted. Had to drive across the road to Dollar General who doesn't have an ATM. Make one purchase, $40.00 cash back. Buy a pack of Mentos, $40 cash back. Had fried chicken and whitefish. Chicken tasted like it was boiled then breaded and tossed in a fryer with unseasoned breading. Whitefish had no taste. We were there last Sunday, 1/4/26, with friends that had moved to Tennessee from Oregon. They loved the Southern home cooking food. every thing, chicken, ribs, white fish, plus all the 11 vegetables were delicious. Folks from around the region (and beyond) have been flocking to the Farmer's Daughter for many years, aiming to get their fill of country meals in a family-style format. The popularity of this place led to a rather large expansion of the restaurant several years ago. Thankfully, the enlargement didn't make this place feel cavernous. For a flat fee per person, each dining party gets their choice of two meats for their table. And for the duration of your visit, you'll be provided with your fill of those two proteins as well as unlimited portions of the day's side dishes and a small dessert at the end. The current cost is $20 per person, which isn't bad in today's terms, but obviously it's best to come hungry if you want to get the most out of the experience. Several family members and I paid a recent visit here. Our selections for proteins were chicken tenders -- not a fan of these myself, as they were heavily fried, but a few of our group insisted that's the only meat they'd eat -- and turkey with dressing. The latter was pretty tasty, I must say. I would like to have tried some of the other options, such as the chicken livers or the honey ham, but such is life when you gather with picky people. As for the sides we received, there was macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes, carrot souffle, cabbage, creamed corn, pinto beans, fried green tomatoes, apple salad, and cornbread salad. I didn't have any of the cornbread salad or the pinto beans, and I was unimpressed by the corn, but the rest of the side dishes were satisfying. The service we received wasn't as welcoming as most of the food though. Our waitress seemed a little bitter from the get-go. We're used to getting bread to snack on before the meal, and though there was butter on the table that bread never arrived. The initial portions of some side dishes we received were especially small. When there are 13 people at a table for a family-style meal, a single bowl containing no more than a few scoops of mashed potatoes is probably not going to cut it, for example. Many members of our party are frequent patrons here, and at least a few of them were left making comments that they might not come back for a while. I don't think the issues were quite that severe, but it's a shame the service put such a damper on what could've been a nice experience. read more

This place is unique with where its located and its concept. This is a buffet style meal. Its $22 per person and you pick one meat. You get all the sides you want, theres like 12. They bring all sides out for you. The good is theres lots of food and choices that you can at least find one thing you like. The bad is that this place is designed for 65+ as most everything is bland outside of a few items. If your 65+ this is a great place for you. Their salads are all pretty good especially the apple. By far the star of the show. I got the chicken which was cooked well just really bland no flavor at all. Cool place to try but I personally wont be back unless I can get that apple salad on its own. read more

This place is awesome. It all home cooked pretty much all you can eat home style cooking at a great price. The Farmers Daughter means something to my family and I. I went in not knowing it was check or cash only it was 3 of us. I told the lady. Let me Go get cash and I'll be right back. She insisted we stay and either bring the money or a check back at a later date or mail it. She would not let us go to an ATM machine. This meant a lot to us. After dinner was over my wife snuck to an ATM machine up the road and got cash. And what made this amazing is it was the owner telling us to sit down and eat. And worry about it next time. Seeing the reviews I was looking forward to visiting this place. Have to say it's going to be a one & done for this Yelper. Other than the price, $20 per per person, flat rate, cash only, no debit cards, the experience was not so great. Food was very bland, cafeteria style and mass produced filler. Our waitress was sweet, the place was cool looking, with live local music in the waiting area. But it kinda stopped there and couldn't make up for the poor quality of food. First time tonight, Maggie was our server (she was fantastic). Was not familiar with the "program," but got up to speed quickly enough. You order a meat dish from a big selection (had the meatloaf) and it's brought out with nine side dishes, rolls and cornbread, drink of your choice and dessert of your choice. I think we counted eleven side dishes total. All of it is wonderful. $22 bucks a head. I'm stuffed. The only wish I have is that they'd let you box up the leftovers and carry out - although you can take your dessert with you and a carry out drink. We will be back. read more

I know there are a lot of rave reviews, but this is possibly the worst meal either my husband have had in a long time. He ordered the chicken tenders. They served quite a few of them, but they were totally tasteless, the fried catfish was 2 paper thin fillets with absolutely no seasoning, all I could taste was flour. The cornbread was thin, cold, and dry. The rolls were ok, but definitely not hot. They would not melt the butter. The sides were numerous, but sorely lacking. The beans tasted like they had simply been boiled in water, no seasoning. The mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes were good. Most of the other sides were very lackluster if not totally inedible. For the $40 we paid for both our meals, it should have been way better. It's like they had never heard of spices and seasonings. We elected to take the included dessert home with us. I ordered chocolate cream pie and my husband got the butterscotch. It was brought to us as blobs on styrofoam plates covered in plastic wrap. There was no crust visible anywhere. I would be ashamed to call it pie instead of a scoop of squashed pudding. I will post pics when I figure out how. My recommendation, save the drive and money and go elsewhere. read more

This place is Country good/Sunday supper deliciousness. Bring your appetite. This is a all inclusive meal and includes drinks, breads, entrées and sides and dessert in the price. They had the best steak and gravy I've had in years!!! Incredibly tender and the gravy was dark and rich. The apple salad was refreshing. The hot, fresh cornbread was excellent and went well with the pintos. Fried chicken was amazing, I love pan fried chicken! I didn't like the cornbread salad, it had cucumbers and ranch dressing mixed with cornbread the waitress told me when I asked what the dish was...cabbage was okay. Mac was good. They forgot to bring our mashed potatoes but did as soon as I mentioned it for my kiddo. They were good. The carrot souffle was incredible, literally could have just had that. Green beans were only okay. Creamed corn also okay. Fried squash was good but it was almost over cooked. The slaw was tasty and the chicken gravy was the bomb. We all liked the sourdough rolls and butter they serve as a starter here. Banana pudding was a hit fir 2 in our party. I chose the PB pie, it was very rich and almost fudge like. We drive 75 mins one-way to eat here. Always enjoy coming here. The price is inexpensive and you always get way more food than you could possibly eat. Food is delicious as always.
