Bread pudding

CASH ONLY or CHECKs!!!!Food- Subpar- Meat was well cooked we had Catfish and Country ham both were served hot and flavorful. Vegetable Soup- too sweat to be a veg soup!! Sides- Mac/Cheese overcooked, cabbage just ok, a little dry, soup beans got cold quick, mash potato's runny tasted awful served with white gravy which is a no-no, if you know you know, corn ok, fried squash good, cornbread salad good, carrot casserole just weird. Corn bread and rolls were baked well. Dessert- Strawberry Shortcake no real strawberries just syrup of cake, bread pudding was sweet and would be really good if served warm. Service was slow. No to go boxes allowed. We saw people stuffing food in zip lock bags and containers. $20 per person flat. They have no ATM so they send everyone across the street for DG to pay the fee's. Serving with plastic wear. No mirrors in bathrooms. The big fireplace is nice. A cheaper version of a Crackle Barrel. We were so hoping this would a true favorite for us since we drove 1.5 to come here. The Market next door is wonderful and I would come back just to shop there.

Good food, good service. Nothing fancy. You pick from a list of entrees and you get a bunch of sides with it.

Do they accept credit cards?

No, they don't. They're out in the country a wee bit, and aren't online (yet?) ... But no, no credit cards, cash only.

Our extended family comes here probably every other month as they really do family style suppers…read morewell here. However, our most recent visit was just my hubbie and me for dinner before Father's Day. The fried chicken was wonderful as usual (although our server said they were running out and tried to get us to switch to ribs, but then the chicken showed up 60 secs later) but DO NOT order the grilled pork chops (they were super thin and super salty). The sides (cornbread salad, corn casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, Mac n cheese) were consistently good as always. And the new eclair cake dessert was super yummy.

This place is pretty big and good for groups. You can order family style or a meal alone. The only…read moreproblem is that even if you have a big group, you all have to agree on 2 meats. Our group decided on the fried chicken and the steak and gravy. I had asked if half of our group (12 people) can pick 2 meats and the other half 2 other so we can all try stuff. They said the only way we could do that was to pay $7 extra per person, thats ridiculous. Do NOT get the "steak and gravy".... literally nothing steak about it. It was disgusting it was like a mushy tasteless meatloaf style creation. We got the carrot soufflés which is seasonal and that was delicious. The ground itself is beautiful. We were told to walk around the ground and that we could walk in the buildings but they were all closed up. Also.. they do NOT let you take leftovers home.. such a Waste.

Unbelievably, it was right here in little ole' Greeneville. My salmon was cooked perfectly: buttery, rich, flaky and glistening. It came with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, which were creamy and expertly seasoned, and fresh green beans sauteed to crisp-tender perfection. The dinner was topped with a luscious rosemary and Parmesan cream sauce, crispy shallots, and a sprinkle of crispy bacon that tied everything together. I felt like I was at a Michelin star restaurant! It was a dinner that I will remember for a long, long time.

Everything she does, is from scratch and is beyond delicious, including her homemade sourdough bread. If you haven't been there, you are missing out! And the prices are extremely reasonable. PLEASE support your local small business owner(s)! We, as a community, can make or break them. This is a wonderful restaurant with a skilled, caring owner and amazing staff! Let's patronize them and keep them open! Today, I had the Corned Beef "Poutine" Hash.
