My family and I recently went to Hamilton's Sofa gallery to purchase a new couch. We were greeted by Alex. He and his team were beyond pleasant and helpful. Alex took the time to show us around and catered his help and advise to OUR wants and needs. We picked out a great sectional, at that point I thought he would just wrap up the sale quickly. But instead it was like we just began. He helped us customize our couch down to the tiniest detail. Excellent company, extremely responsive, great customer service and high product knowledge. I ordered two Stressless Recliners from Hamilton's Sofa Gallery. The salesman was Alex Filipour. Alex is very professional and extremely knowledgeable about the Stressless recliners and they have a lot of them on the floor. I ordered Two chairs and they were delivered in 3 weeks. The delivery men arrived within their estimated arrival time, assembled the chairs, took pictures of the assembled chairs and brought them into the house. They pointed out a scratch in the leather seat on one of the chairs and let me know that he had sent the store a picture of the scratched seat. Within 5 minutes of the delivery men leaving, I got a call from the store indicating that they had ordered a replacement seat for the chair and would have it within 3 weeks and would sent someone out to replace the scratched seat. I am currently in the market for bedroom furniture when I found online EXACTLY what I wanted. I called various stores but was lured into this location because their prices were phenomenal. I repeatedly asked, is this price for the entire set including nightstands? The sales rep assured me the price was correct and even began to brag about how much cheaper they were from Belfort. Needless to say, when I walked in ready to pay, the sales rep realized that she didn't charge me for the headboard. She was not willing to match the price she originally quoted me nor offer a reasonable discount. In addition, she refused to give me my price quote from the competitor that I showed her. I practically had to snatch my paper from her!! I was supposed to write the manager but I guess Yelp will suffice. In the end, I decided to give another location my money. read more

I purchased a gray sofa from here and love it! I've been looking for a mid-century style sofa for a long time and they were either over priced or poorly made. I have never bought a custom made sofa so it was weird for me to choose the fabric for the sofa, legs, and fabric for the pillows (sofa comes with two pillows) but it was a fun process. I went with neutral color for the sofa and bluish patterned design for the pillows. The coffee table is also from Hamilton's. It goes with the sofa since it's also a mid-century style. It is well made, nice wood, and pretty! It really wasn't too expensive compared to places like west elm and it looks like a nice piece of furniture. Ikea was my back up but I think I made the right choice by paying a little more for a piece that's more durable and lasting. Delivery was efficient and the guys were very nice. Overall, I'm in love with my sofa (looks better in person) and table.. it seems to go well together =] I'm very pleased with my purchases. read more

As I recently purchased a new condo, I planned on outfitting it with mostly new furniture and decorations, but was a little overwhelmed with my options - and all of the stores out there seemingly peddling similar merchandise for wildly varying price points. On a whim, I stopped by Hamilton since I had never been before. Upon entering, I noticed how organized and clean the sales floor was. The staff was extremely friendly, and allowed me to browse freely without any creepy sales tactics or pressure. I did have a few questions, and luckily the manager, Alex, was available on the floor to help me choose just the right items for my new place. I just cannot overstate how patient, helpful, and detail-oriented Alex is. He spent well over an hour walking me through the store and found the perfect things for me! I bought a TV stand, Bassett motorized reclining couch, a nifty glass bowl filled with balls and supported by rustic wood, a three-dimensional "gear" picture, a bureau/stand with multicolored "slats," two ship propeller replicas, and a pair of incredibly attractive indoor bushes that only need to be "misted" once a month. The level of customer service that Alex provided is unheard of these days, and it was is if he was making this purchase for his own home! He promptly ordered the larger items for me, while carrying out the smaller ones to my car. As busy as he is, he was focused solely on me and ensuring that I got exactly what I wanted. He is a gem. I've included pictures below. See for yourself. Shop around, and you won't come close to this level of quality. Everyone else has the same cookie-cutter mass-market stuff, but Hamiltons has one-of-a-kind items that have been carefully curated. Amazingly, I found Hamiltons to be the very best value as well. My Bassett couch, for example, was half the price of similar stores. I should also mention that the delivery team was exceptionally neat, courteous, and meticulous in placing my items in their proper locations in my home. Just don't take my word for it. If you're in the market for furniture or accessories, see how beautiful the merchandise at Hamiltons is. If you're lucky enough, Alex will be on-site to assist you. Even if he isn't, though, I noticed how polite and competent his sales team is. Forget about those other stores! Just go to Hamiltons! read more

I went in on Sunday. Liked a couch. Ordered on Monday. Was told "it was sold from under me so not in stock". That is my fault. But I was promised a delivery date. The only reason I know it was "sold from under me" is I called to confirm the delivery and no one knew what I was talking about. I was then told next Wednesday it would be in. Called on Tuesday to confirm and was told, "nope not Wednesday". Luckily I was willing to call them, because they are terrible at communication. read more

We were shopping for a leather sectional. The store had a pretty good selection of options for what we wanted. The sale part went great (of course), but after that the customer service was horrible. First, the sectional came one month later than we were promised. I kept calling Debra in customer service to get status of the order and she never returned our calls. Next we called store manager (who sold us our sofa) a couple of times, and finally got updated status on delivery. When sectional was finally delivered it arrived with a big dent, gouge in the leather right on top in a very visible place and a splotch of discoloration. I immediately took photo of the damage and immediately called the store, and emailed the photo to the customer service rep. They said they would schedule their repairman to come "he can work miracles" I was told. Repairman said he couldn't fix it, but could make it 80% better (not sure what that means). We didn't want a damaged sofa, so I asked customer service to replace it. I was stupid and should not have accepted the sofa damaged as it was. We had already waited for 4 months for it to arrive so didn't want to wait any longer. Debra in customer service said they will replace the damaged section. I have been fighting with them about this for over a month. Now the Hamilton's General Manager, Alex Silipour, said we have to have their repairman fix it rather than replace the damaged piece. So, I contacted my credit card company and initiated a dispute for the whole cost of the sectional. WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN. VERY DISAPPOINTED. read more

If you're looking for a good variety of sofas, this is a great place to come check them out. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but they have this place jam packed with a ton of different styles, from traditional to contemporary, with sectionals and a nice leather section as well. They have custom orders as well as a pretty large clearance section (this location is the location of their clearance center, where they have some deeply discounted sofas.) My only criticism is that it took a little bit for someone to notice we'd come in and come help us, but also being able to browse uninterrupted is nice. read more

I have recently made a second purchase at another Hamiltons location (fairfax), but I just got around to writing the review. I dont usually write reviews, but two things made me want to write this review: 1. my great experience and 2. These ridiculous other reviews people have left. Its pretty simple, their furniture is higher end sofas at a good price. Their sales floor has a great variety and they can even custom order items they do not have on the floor. My specific purchase was a beautiful italian leather sofa (literally shipped from italy), that I was able to customize and have shipped to me. The best part, the SAME sofa was over double the price at bloomingdales. Literally the same manufacturer and model, was over $3,000 dollars. Second sofa I purchased, much of the same. Got a great sofa with sleeper added in and I got an amazing price for a high quality piece. So in short, dont be deterred by the negative reviews. Great selection, great price and great service. Ill be back for my next purchases. read more

I will never buy anything from the Chantilly store again. Like other reviewers, I purchased a sofa and recliners and paid thousands and still have not received anything over FOUR MONTHS later. The delivery update: so our sofa arrived and was ready for delivery right around the 8 week mark as I was originally quoted. The sofa looked great, although we had custom ordered the sofa so honestly I could only remember the pillows and didn't quite remember the exact specs of the sofa itself. The sofa looked great and we've had it for about a week and its perfect. I'm still sticking with 4 stars because somehow they still set up and scheduled the delivery even though by the time the delivery guys arrived I still hadn't paid my balance. I had to call the store and give them my CC number although as the person on the other line asked questions I couldn't quite understand as they had a kind of thick accent. But we got things squared away, the couch is fine, I paid the remaining half. My only issue is that the staff and the store seem a bit disorganized and there might be a language barrier that I feel like there were a few miscommunications which was somewhat frustrating, although not to the extent of a total turn off of doing business here again. So with our new place we decided to get new furniture not to mention my old couch was past its prime and I had given it away so we needed a new couch for our daily use. We came in and I wasn't thinking I'd find anything. I remember going to another Hamilton location years ago when I was looking for a couch and not finding anything that I was in love with. The store here is divided into two sections, half with the customizable pieces and the other half with clearance pieces. Bear in mind this place has many price points from the uber pricey Italian leather sofas to more reasonable pieces. We walked through the whole store, I quickly dismissed the $5,000 couches although beautiful waaay out of my budget. Oddly, I first spotted a quirky sectional in the clearance section although the hubby wasn't keen and wanted to see what other options there were. We found another sectional, comfortable, nice looking. The sales lady helped us price out the pieces as we wanted to add an ottoman. When comparing the two there was only a $300 price difference between the clearance couch that we couldn't customize, and the regular sales floor couch that we could pick the fabrics and pillows. We agreed that customizing was the way to go even though its going to be a while before we see our couch. The options were excellent. We also bought the fabric protection plan as it was actually pretty reasonable for the cost and what was covered. I knocked off a star because we were trying to find out if there were any special financing deals available since it was the 4th of July weekend. The sales woman never really quite directly answered our question and said we could pay half now and the other half on delivery. We finally gave up in trying to get our question answered as my patience was starting to get worn at this point. And frankly we didn't spend a ton of money so we could easily deal with the half now and half later. read more

We went for their "liquidation clearance" sale and the furniture we saw was still about $1,000 more than comparable pieces available online. We have been eying a sleeper sofa online that is about $700; this place had a very similar model ... For $1800 ON SALE! Although the salesperson was knowledgeable and appeared helpful I am still waiting for a "quick ship" order for almost 3 months. I ordered a full living room set. Last I heard the sofa was deleivered to their warehouse. The love seat is somewhere in the process and the ottoman wasn't "cut" and won't be ready until APRIL 24. Have not heard about the chair. Upon inquiry I was told "all furniture store deliveries are late". Very disappointed. Wish I could comment on the furniture but haven't seen it yet. read more

We bought a sectional and sofa. The customer service in the store in the store was outstanding. Delivery, on the other hand leaves much to be desired. One of the two men let one piece of the sectional drop out of the truck as a means of unloading it. Our walls in the house are all tore up (and I did not sign any waiver dismissing that damage). What's worse is no attempt was made to get the sofa up the stairs to the living room in our townhouse, while several of our other pieces pieces (many just as large) reside up those stairs. WHAT WE WERE LEFT WITH ARE SEVERAL SIGNIFICANT GOUGES IN OUR WOODS FLOORS IN THE FOYER! We had plans to buy coffee tables and a few other pieces from Hamilton's - but will now shop elsewhere. read more

It was delightful to work with the staff at this Chantilly location. They had an incredible selection of sofas and options that accommodate my small space restrictions in my condo. We were interested in the Stressless line of furniture. Gabriela Voicu worked with us and was tremendous in helping us to choose two chairs. She did not rush us in any way and wanted us to try each chair for a good period of time to see how each one felt. She described the versatility and quality of this furniture line and how each item worked. We took samples outside to see how they looked in different light - which clearly guided us to what we felt was the perfect color for our home decor. We decided to also purchase a new sofa - again she gave us time to coordinate our colors and helped us choose just the right combination. We checked our selections outside and in different light. Now that I have reached a 'certain age,' I find it so ironic that I finally made it over to Hamilton Sofa and Leather Gallery. I wish I had gone years earlier. I wanted this particular leather chair but kept putting it off. When I did walk through the door I encountered friendly customer service. I was not hounded, but given a chance to look at the variety of comfortable seating on the floor. I ended up buying a sofa and a chair and I am still thrilled, now a year later. I saw a labor day ad in the post for this place so I stopped by. The whole place is full of sofas of all prices and styles. There was a European sales woman who seemed to have the laughing bug because she was so giggly but she was loads of fun and very helpful. I ended up buying an American made custom sofa. I picked everything including the size, style of arms, style of pillows, and the fabric. When it was all said and done the sofa only cost $800 dollars (they had a sale), not bad! I really liked this place the only draw back is that they don't really sell anything other than sofas and recliners and living room stuff. Great place for anyone who wants a sofa. read more

Just bought a sectional sofa here today and was super pleased with the sales experience. We originally went to Belfort, and found a Bernhardt sectional that we liked. We went here to comparison shop, and Gabi was really an ideal sales person. She offered help, but also gave you space and there was 0 pressure. Hamilton also had the best price. They beat Belfort (would/could not lower listed price), IMI furniture (said they could match, but delivery was more), and McLean Furniture Gallery (25% above Hamilton's price and would not come down). Gabi helped us pick out coordinating pillows and overall it was a super no pressure, good price, great furniture shopping experience. Will update when the sectional is delivered (as some have had issues with delivery), but would absolutely recommend buying here! read more

Went to Hamiltons uncertain about what bed we wanted. We were immediately greeted at the door by a courteous Hamilton's Rep who was informative and understanding that we were on a budget. He showed us a variety of beds and explained the benefits of choosing one over the other, until we found the right bed for us at the right price! The delivery service was very punctual and set everything up in our home. I would highly recommend Hamiltons if your in the market for a new bed. With family coming to visit this summer have been trying to prepare my house. I have done various simple projects and one of the things I needed was a sofa. A friend of mine told me Hamilton's was the best local spot for anyone who needed a sofa so I stopped in. First of all the place was packed full of tons of different styles of sofas. Also they will let you order their sofas in lots of fabrics which was a change from some of the other places I looked (Ashley, Haverty's, Value City). I ended up getting a really nice sofa from the clearance center that was 20% off and they delivered it less then a week later. Not sure why the sofa was even in the clearance because it was in perfect shape! I'm very happy with my purchase and have my eye on a nice leather recliner for my hubby. read more

My husband had double knee replacement surgery and we were searching for an electric recliner. We tried a few places with no luck, then remembered there was a furniture store not too far away. With only 30 minutes to go before the store closed, we rushed into Hamilton's and Marina (the store manager) showed us their options. I was relieved that we found a perfect solution but didn't realize we would not be able to take it home that night. Frazzled from caring for my husband who is in excruciating pain, I just broke down. Marina showed the deepest of compassion and let us leave with the store's only chair so that my husband could have some comfort that night (instead of having it shipped from MD and arrive days later). The lift chair allows him to get up and down without the same excruciating pain from laying on the couch. He's been sleeping in it as well and we will forever be grateful to Marina. I saw plenty of beautiful furniture in the store and look forward to returning when I have more time to peruse. read more

I attempted to return a product that I had purchased from this location for cleaning a sofa and it was a nightmare!!!!! The product was less effective then water, and after one attempt at using it I decided it clearly did not work. When I finally brought it back the woman on the floor was bossing me around telling me there was no way for a refund, even though it was only purchased based upon her recommendation. She kept insisting that it was my fault as the product works on their couches in the store.Talk about not standing behind your product, I felt like I had purchased it from a traveling medicine man. The hoops that made me jump through to attempt to get a refund after only five days was absurd. I find it hard to believe that a business that runs its customer service like this can stay in business. I hope soon someone gets the idea that keeping the customer happy is important, First step, talk to that horrible woman at the front about correct customer service because she is rude, unhelpful, aggressively incorrect and generally horrible to deal with. Really all I wanted was for someone in that store to be nice and act like they cared about their customer. From where I stand, they clearly don't :( read more

I was finally able to get a partial refund of my down payment from Hamilton's Sofa Gallery. My initlal poor review was based on the reaction of the store manager to my complaint, which didn't exemplify good customer relations. Although I am receiving a partial refund I still maintain that the sofa which was delivered was the wrong color since I passed the one which was delivered as I exited the store and remarked to myself that I didn't like it very much. read more
