I wish I can recall who told me about VIP care management, but I had to take a moment and tell you how they came to the rescue. From the very first phone call I made, I was completely reassured from the beginning that I was in good hands. And even today, I still feel like I am as I might have a question from time to time and I can always rely on this firm to guide me in the right direction. VIP care management was able to handle all that was required to get the Medicaid application process as painless as possible. They provided ample information as to what they needed, and I simply scanned and emailed everything to them and before I knew it, my Mom got accepted by Medicaid. They even referred me to an excellent edler care attorney that helped in the process of getting my mom eligible where I had thought it might not be possible. All of the staff were great, and especially Randi who I can say was like family when we spoke. Best thing I every did for my Mom and for myself! Do yourself a favor. Call them and see for yourself.

She calmed my fears - And took charge. She is a great listener and wonderful counselor and knows her field well. She advocated for me with the providers and facilitated the logistics with ease. Most Yelpers use YELP reviews to search out new restaurants, share their thoughts and assessments…read moreon dining experiences, good and bad, and for some, especially the Elite Yelpers, to engage in the myriad of social activities sponsored by Yelp, or by fellow Yelpers through UYE's. Of course, reviews are also written for hotels, various service providers, hair and nail salons, and dozens of other types of businesses. I'm not sure how many reviews are written about nursing services or other providers of service which focus on health needs. Well, here's mine, as I know some of my fellow Yelpers may one day have a need for such a service. For the last 6 months I was engaged in overseeing care provided at home, and eventually in hospice, for my 90 year old cousin, Edythe. During that time, I had the need for at-home nursing aides for cousin Edythe, and called upon Lynden Nursing Service to do so. I was impressed with their efficiency, especially their ability to handle everything via telephone, and to respond to urgent needs. There were situations which really demanded logistic sensitivity and prompt responsiveness, in a very short window of time. As an example, the time when Edythe fell in her apartment (even though she insisted the wall telephone flew out from the wall and knocked her over), and she was seen in the ER, and when I was advised of her release, I did not want her to return to her Kings Point condo and not have anyone to be with her to make sure she would be OK during that night and following day. I called Lynden, and explained that I needed an aide in Delray Beach in no more than 90 minutes, that she had to speak without a heavy accent, and further explained some of Edythe's unique health challenges, to be certain they sent "the right person". They did! Trust me, it isn't easy to find "the right person", when it comes to nursing services and their aides. It is actually far more difficult and challenging than it is, let's say, for a hot, sexy, very bright, well educated, well employed, straight (or close to it) woman to find a 30ish guy with the same characteristics. Now, that caught your attention, huh, assuming you read this far. Well, Lynden identified the right people, and responded to my compulsive lawyer-like former Federal government senior-level employee mentality of not allowing anything to slip through the cracks, taking nothing for granted, and expecting nothing less than excellence. Edythe's last month of life had numerous challenges. When she was in hospice for 13 nights, attended for those nights with 15 hour shifts by one of their young aides (TAVIA), or when she transitioned to assisted living and was attended by another awesome aide (TEKEIRA) to help close out everything in her condo, take her clothes shopping, and re-assuirng her that everything would be ok, my life was made all the easier for the outstanding professional, reliable, and sensitive nursing aid service provided. If you have a need for an aging relative, you'll be well served by using this agency.

In the 1930's Florida began attracting snowbirds with Finnish roots. Today you can visit a Finish display in the Lake Worth Museum or attend the annual Midnight Sun Festival held annually in Bryant Park. There are also a number of businesses owned by and catering to visiting and resident Finnish and Finnish Americans. Another sign of the Finnish legacy in Lantana is the Finnish American Rest Home. When Lantana and Lake Worth area Finns expressed the need for a place where people could spend their retirement years in the comfort of their own customs Mr. Sam Miller invited everybody interested to attend a meeting at the Tourist Club on October 21, 1970. At this meeting, Mr. Janger donated the first $75.00 to establish the Finnish American Rest Home. The Finish Village has evolved to offer three different levels of care, Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Assisted Living, and Home Care to transition people as people traverse the stages of aging. I was able to visit the Finish Village during the 3rd annual Scandinavian Christmas Market held November 20-22. The event had prepared food and pastries made by St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Lake Worth. The church was founded in 1953 by Finnish immigrants and the official languages of the congregation are English and Finnish. In addition to great food there were items hand made by the church, European candy, meat and cheese, Swedish Christmas ornaments, holiday decorations, jewelry, candles, and more for sale. Outside there were more vendor tents selling crafts and poinsettias and bounce houses for the kids. I have Swedish roots so I especially loved this cultural event. Admission was free which allowed me to be able to spend more liberally on gifts and food. This was my first time attending the Christmas Market but I hope to make it an annual tradition.

My mother truly appreciated how knowledgeable the PTs were and how caring and invested they are in helping their patients. The RNs, CNAs, and cleaning staff at Medicana were outstanding and friendly with only one or two exceptions. Also, the person who manages the food service department named Debra does a great job. Debra made an excellent effort to make my mother's meal experience the best that it could be. The business office was always very helpful and responsive. It was great working with both Vanessa and Francine in the business office. Please note that we were offered a single room for an extra $300 per night, but my mother opted to have a roommate instead of paying the extra amount. Also, patients should note that the doctor who authorizes discharge for some types of coverage comes once a week on Wednesdays. If you are still reading, I want to say thank you to the full time PTs named (in alpha order) John, Randy, and Rick plus the part time PT named Adriana. I cannot say enough great things about their abilities and their excellent bedside manner. I also want to say thank you to the CNA named Fennell. She is an exceptional employee and person. She has a GREAT attitude and made every effort to help my mother and everyone. I also want to thank all the RNs who took care of my mother for being so conscientious about her care. The ones who took care of her the most and did a great job were (in alpha order) Ashley, Damian, Magdala, and Normandy. The only negative was that it was hard to get a call back from the Social Work office, but that office arranged for us to work with an excellent home health agency called Trust USA Home Health.
