The receptionist seemed nice, bit unprofessional to have blanket covering you at work but... she let me in no problem and was nice. But here's where it gets bad, Came now in the beginning March and EVERYTHING CHANGED FOR THE WORSE!!!!!! The walls are poorly painted white, paint on the carpets, no decorations for Easter, 4 staff members in the whole building, and ONE NURSE to care for over 50+ rooms ? With 2 patients in each room? Tried to get my father's meds, called the phone 3 times, gave up and went to look for assistance. I finally found the nurse in the opposite side of the nursing home-- she told me "she's the only nurse in and my father will have to wait for over an hour." She gave me what she could of his over the counter medication and sent me on my way. Also unfortunately this nursing home doesn't close/ crack the patient's-- an elderly lady was indecent in the room diagonal to my father- so when I opened his door to leave I saw this woman breast exposed- the nurse who was assisting her left it completely WIDE open and walked out the door-- I closed it for her privacy. I'm completely in shock and horror. Imagine you or your family member..... This nursing home use to have a lot of love in the building I'm very disappointed and ashamed of what this facility came to.

I wish I can recall who told me about VIP care management, but I had to take a moment and tell you how they came to the rescue. From the very first phone call I made, I was completely reassured from the beginning that I was in good hands. And even today, I still feel like I am as I might have a question from time to time and I can always rely on this firm to guide me in the right direction. VIP care management was able to handle all that was required to get the Medicaid application process as painless as possible. They provided ample information as to what they needed, and I simply scanned and emailed everything to them and before I knew it, my Mom got accepted by Medicaid. They even referred me to an excellent edler care attorney that helped in the process of getting my mom eligible where I had thought it might not be possible. All of the staff were great, and especially Randi who I can say was like family when we spoke. Best thing I every did for my Mom and for myself! Do yourself a favor. Call them and see for yourself.

This property was sold in early 2025, and the name changed to Cascades. The previous ownership…read more(affiliated with Abbey Delray South) provided a stimulating calendar of events, but most importantly they had a trained chef in the kitchen who prepared well-cooked meals using mostly fresh ingredients. Menu options were varied and nutritious. Since becoming Cascades, the quality of the meals has taken a nose dive. Fewer choices, smaller portions, vegetables often bathed in strange yellow oil, and regular use of processed meat products masquerading as real food. Management says they're taking resident's concerns into consideration and that things will improve, but it's only gotten worse month by month. It's been almost 3 weeks since the kitchen was shut down due to a cockroach infestation. There's no excuse as to why this problem has not been resolved at this point. In the meantime, residents have to deal with extremely limited menu choices and small protein servings. A recent brunch offered nothing but hard-boiled eggs, orange juice, and unthawed frozen waffles. A couple of weeks ago residents were served takeout pizza. For the New Year's Eve dinner main dish, residents were given a choice between a pressed turkey sandwich or a pressed ham sandwich. Each building has only one elevator, and in recent months it's sometimes taken up to a week to repair a broken elevator. This has left some residents on upper floors with no options to leave their apartments for days at a time. Long-term residents have been moving as a result of all this. Many residents don't have the means or the support to move to a different residence. Think twice before moving your loved one into this facility.

My grandmother passed 13 years ago and spent the last of her life here at Abbey Delray. She had been in another facility before this one and Abbey Delray seemed like the Ritz in comparison to the Holiday Inn conditions of the first one. So when my grandpa decided he was ready to move into a facility he chose this. He spent the first 10 years in independent living and kept quite busy with bridge, poker, daily swims (even at the age of 96!), socializing and more. It seemed like summer camp for the elderly! He made some great friends thru his years here, although it was sad to see many of them pass away thru the years. During the last 2 years he needed more assistance and so we moved him into the assisted living building. While he had a lot of complaints about it, I think he was mostly just complaining about the aches and pains of growing older. They took great care of him and in the last few weeks it was amazing to see how much the nurses had come to care for him as a person (even coming in to check on him on their days off). A special shoutout to Zanelle and Rachelle who went above and beyond to make him comfortable. Yesterday was the funeral and then we rented the art room in the assisted living building so that his friends could stop by to celebrate his life with us. It was amazing hearing about all the activities and friendships they too had made at Abbey Delray. Beverly, the activities director, helped us set everything up and she too was another impressive member of the staff here. After watching my grandpa struggle with the challenges of being 99 I 100% agree that "getting old is not for the sissies," but nice to know that there are places like Abbey Delray that make it more manageable and fun.
