I haven't had a mani pedi in like 3 years and I was definitely due. As much as I hate gift cards I am taking this as an opportunity to finally get myself taken care of I set my appointment online and from what I read I should be prepared to be there for 90 minutes so I cut this chunk of time out of my day and prepared to be pampered. When I was there I was offered a drink and I chose the whiskey. I hate to say it, as a drinker thus kinda frustrated me because it was so little of an amount. I get it but dang I wanted some more. Valerie was my manicurist and she took her time giving me the full works on my very easy hands and toes because they were pretty short already but she was meticulous with everything. She did a great job. I liked the whole thing but as I look at some of the reviews the one thing I never hear anyone mention about is the price and at $150 for a Mani pedi some may say it's expensive, sheesh, I'm saying it. Lol Other than the price I enjoyed the experience as opposed to going to a regular nail shop. There are no drinks at some of the places I've been too. I'd do again, when I hit the lottery. My barber not only cleaned up my mess of a face but did it while managing to make small talk feel not awkward. The precision was next level. Hubby came in for nail and facial services, his experience was amazing. This is one of the older and smaller locations of this barber shop. We couldn't find parking for a good 25 minutes, the parking in this area is nightmare! The front desk guy was so sweet, he told us not to worry about running a little late. I just love how chic and stylish this barber shop is. Hubby really enjoyed his mani & pedi nail services, as well as facial treatment. His skin looked so refreshing and clean afterwards! A man has but so many hours in this life. Every hour we spend is either wasted or in service of that which moves us in life. My time at Hammer & Nails Echo Park was not valued at all, and the lack of professionalism on display via their scheduling and client management leaves much to be desired. I have been a Hammer and Nails client for over three years; I love the locations in South Bay and West Hollywood. At Echo Park, Valerie on nails and Susan on hair are truly wonderful and their craft is out of this world. I recently booked a hair and premium beard service. On the day of the service, I was asked strange questions about if I'd been using special shampoo. Uh... OK? Then, a manager was brought in and my beard was inspected by a person who was not my regular barber. None of this was explained beforehand--even though the studio sends out regular day-of-service reminders. I was then informed that I would not have a beard service, only hair. This is fine; if someone has dermatitis or something it makes sense. Where was the call beforehand? The text? "Hey, we've noticed in the last few treatments that your beard has been dry, would you mind going to a dermatologist?" ... see? So easy. If you're paying a monthly membership for a service, it's because there's something beyond the product that is worth the money. In one fell swoop, my membership was rendered worthless by their utter lack of consideration and regard for my experience. The whole affair had such a degree of strangeness about it, and the staff failed to acknowledge the basic idea that maybe, just maybe, a phone call or text as a heads up might have been warranted. It was like talking to a wall. I had just as recently as Sunday been complimented on the condition of my skin, and I'd recommended Hammer & Nails enthusiastically, singing my technician Susan's praises. As I said, the staff who know their craft are truly wonderful but with this mind boggling error in service I must now reconsider ever recommending Hammer & Nails--at any location--to anyone ever again. read more

Must try! This is a new location and I happy that I stopped by. I got the classic manicure and classic cut. My manicurist had great conversation and was very efficient. I love the environment here. You get your own headphones and a tv to personally control. I was also served a complimentary cocktail (I chose whiskey & coke). It's worth a try for any many who wants to be comfortable while getting spa services. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. With each service you get hot towels on your skin. This is a plus. I also received a hair wash with my cut. The barber was very nice as well. I think next time I'll try the black facial mask treatment service along with a signature pedicure. I usually go for a beard trim and I have to say, ever since I started, my confidence has definitely gone up. 1 star for the variety of services, 1 star for the ease of setting up an appointment (the online portal is a breeze), 1 star for the care from each person you're in contact with, and 1 star for the end result: a great haircut. That last star is missing cause the price can definitely escalated with each additional thing you get done (but very much in line with Silverlake prices). This isn't going to be your mom and pop shop that gives you a familiar barber, but every person you work with is remarkably professional and courteous. I had Diamond and she was half barber half magician with what she was able to do. It's rare a day when you sit down with a new barber who can make you feel comfortable, doesn't push every product down your wallet, but still acknowledges questions and concerns. She was awesome and genuinely worth every minute. If I'm being honest, she's 2 of the 4 stars on here. Poor protection of customer data in their booking system. Coincidentally another customer had booked with my same name during the time slot -- the worst part of this is that my phone number and credit card got attached to their booking! After being told they would not be able to honor the booking, I'm lucky I thought to go back inside and check if my credit card was attached to this other person's booking! They really need to look into how their system protect customer payment data and ensure payment data doesn't get moved between different clients. read more
