Service seemed to be good until there was miscommunication. Then explanations changed?…read more We asked Your Crawlspace Guys to come back out after they worked on a wall, but it was still showing movement- we were told that they didn't know the problem was to the extent that it was(1 inch cracks appearing throughout as time went on in the summer) didn't know so much shifting would occur, and didn't have the tools needed to truly fix the problem, but that it would be a reoccurring issue due to the groundwater levels and yearly settling. Other back and forth continued for some time, and once a dissatisfactory review was posted online, their explanation changed. It changed to they knew the issues at hand, but they weren't hired for THAT, so they didn't fix it. Instead of acknowledging my complaints individually, the owner places blame on me and apologised for ME "being unrealistic" - AFTER THEIR OWN WORK INVOICE SAID IT WOULD DO SOMETHING THAT IT DIDN'T. They also claims they did the work for the sellers, and not even me and my partner....as the estimates, and invoices have my name listed on it, as well as my partners(name highlighted in green on attached photo). If they really didn't do the work for us, I would have expected him to hit back with "I couldn't find you in the system" like they have on other negative reviews. I also would have expected them to decline to even come back out to our house, if that was the case. The owner also claimed the company replaced a vapor barrier for me at some point, maybe they meant at closing?? but their response made it seem like they did it as some sort of courtesy sometime after the intial work was done. They either failed to communicate yet another thing, or they made up info to try to make a negative google review look better. We might never‍ know lol. They have so many positive reviews that our experience truly has us scratching our heads as to why our experience has sucked. If my partner worked on someone's car, but the same car came was back within 6 months, with even more issues, and all he had to say "sorry your car is failing, but I didn't know it was going to get to THIS extent, and I don't even have tools for this", he would still be held responsible in his position. It's been nothing but a headache for the last year, I can't go into my garage without feeling frustration and wishing we had gotten bids elsewhere instead of taking the route we did. I recommend going elsewhere for foundation specific issues(they do fine with crawl space work), especially if you're getting work done before closing/using escrow. That, or make sure to physically be present during all conversations and scheduling regarding what's needed so that questions can be asked and stories, blame and explanations can't be shifted later.

In the process of selling our home, the inspector had noted "possible bio-organic growth" in attic…read more I knew there was no way this was possible, as I am up in the attic very regularly, and it is in very good shape up there (the roof is also newer as well). To satisfy the buyer however, I had an inspection done by ServPro so that they could write something up for me to give the buyer saying that it had been addressed and that there was no mold. The technician who came out was a very friendly, nice guy. He explained to me that what he saw in the attic was nothing more than discoloration of the wood, and there was definitely no mold. He told me they see this all the time in Oregon, and it's not a very big deal, but inspectors have to list it as "possible growth" just to cover themselves from potential lawsuits. He told me they would treat it with something (though he didn't mention what), take photos of it, and write-up a report to give to the buyers. He was out here for probably 30-45 minutes, including the time it took him to do his thing in the attic. The cost for all this? $500. Truth be told, I'd be leaving 5-stars if it wasn't for the cost. I personally would have expected something like this to cost around $300. I figure his time is probably worth $100-$150 an hour (including driving to my house), plus spraying the product, and writing up the report. So I do feel the price was greatly inflated as they know that in my position as the seller, I really have no other choice but to satisfy the buyer. That being said, if it wasn't for the outrageous price for 30-45 minutes of his time, I would be leaving 5-stars. However, I'm going to leave 3-stars because of this. I have no issues with this company as they were all very friendly, responsive, and polite. I just think that $500 is a bit of "price gouging" for something so simple. I would have had no problem doing this myself, I'm just not an official company, so I couldn't give my buyer a nice letterhead saying there was no mold. In summary: Fantastic company, friendly and punctual employees, but drastically inflated prices.

I needed big help with my Eugene home I had just purchased…read more There was no place to put my dishwasher without restructuring the kitchen. The bathroom had the most awful, early 80's, peach colored shower enclosure, I could not live with - and the counter was much too short. The backyard had a large lawn and a small deck - it was crying out for a more useful space for entertaining. My street generates a lot of traffic noise and I needed something to help reduce it. I also wanted an attractive trash/recycling bin deck, close to the street, for convenience. I looked for reviews and Emerald Valley Home Repair popped up. I like licenses and BBB ratings - Ted has them. He was professional in his walk through and intelligent, creative and confident with his advice and ideas - that he quickly put me to ease with his clear rapport I chose Ted Colee. My new larger kitchen space includes my necessary dishwasher and a couple new cabinets and sparkles with quartz counter tops throughout. He also replaced the lighting. The bathroom shower panels were removed and replaced with new bright white tiles. The deck steps down to a circular stone patio that allows for more entertaining and several large potted plants. I worked with Ted on ideas for the front driveway and we came up with a spectacular walled in - shingled and planter deck. It looks fantastic and provides more privacy in my front yard and most importantly, has reduced the road noise. The shingled trash/recycling/green-waste bin deck has a drop down ramp gate: So convenient! This was a series of jobs that effectively have turned this house into my home. Knowledge, skill, dependability, trust and respect are all vital in building that working relationship and creativity and flexibility complete the package. Bonuses are his abundant experience - Ted even knows plants. I have worked with Ted since and highly recommend him!!

I've observed as he consults with the owner, and the owner has reported back to me about the good relations and good communication and professionalism that he thankfully receives. I have chatted from time to time with the owner of the property and I've been happy to share a five star review for the work that his crew is doing and a off of admiration for the way that he takes care of his property by hiring such good workers and by communicating clearly with them and I thank him for being a good and he for helping out and keeping an eye out. One incident in particular sticks out in my mind at this point. At the property where I currently reside and an anonymous carpenter had inadvertently saw through the main electrical cables of the property built in 1946. Up the street, a delivery truck had accidentally yanked down electrical lines because of a poor coordination of communication between the city and a local owner regarding the importance of clearing trees and a failure to identify that the overhanging powerlines were being held up by the long branches of the tree in the midst of all this Martin's crew was roofing that very complicated roof that has somewhere upwards of 11 different pitches and also has an extremely steep driveway that complicated the matter of delivering shingles that were to be lifted up to the roof with electrical lines and Internet lines passing in the line of the truck used to hoist the shingles Given the accidents I'd already witnessed locally, I was reflexively anxious. Not to worry. Martin's crew had their eyes on the job, took measures to avert the obstacle, and the driver was extremely skillful. These guys work as a great team someone who has spent decades, observing and the work of around the and also witnessed major industrial accidents caused by carelessness and a lack of communication or intentional violation of standards, it is refreshing to see a remodeling crew work with such diligence and efficacy and care And consideration for the property, the owners, guests, and surrounding neighbors.
